Hello!
i just lost an entire post that i had for you. but the main thing is that i've known people that have done gastric; and they don't always do the right thing but there are a lot of people who are doing well with the lap band. it is the least invasive of all procedures. also, you need to be ready to let go of the food, regardless of the procedure you choose. don't stress out. do more research; don't just listen to negative stuff. there is negative in everything in life. and then decide. if your doctor doesnt want to do it; find another guy who will. even if you have to travel. best of luck. /nilsa

Band at Surgery
Hi: I am curious about something since i've been on this site. i hear people talking about their first, second and so on fills and so now i wanted to find out if the band is placed by the surgeon in an "empty" state until the first fill? in other words, they do not fill it during surgery do they? thanks! /nilsa:ranger:

Post Op -- Drinking with Meals.
I remember being told earlier in my process that you have to stop drinking something like 1/2 hour before meals and not to drink anything until after at least 20 minutes after a meal. I would like to know what the reasons are for this particular rule. I should have asked but I didn't.

Intimacy
I am also a christian faith person. I was also with a gay man. Let me just say that you are headed for misery for the rest of your life if you stay in that marraige. Period. I understand all that stuff about your husband never walking away from god and more than likely it is true, but you see, someone who is gay, will always be gay. Whether they act on it or not. If you read your own post, you say, that you want to feel loved and be desired. Do you honestly think that your husband will one day desire you? If two plus years has not showed you that he cannot, even if he wanted to, feel desire for any woman, then you just need a little more time to see it, is all i'm saying. Gay means gay. Your husband knows he did not choose to be gay. It is something that just is what it is. I think it is sad when people say that they are staying together for the children. To sacrifice your own life to that extent, when the truth is that all children are so resilient and there are ways and words and methods that would keep them healthy, even if you walk away from a loveless marraige. You say your friend doesn't understand your sex less marraige. That is not surprising, although most people don't really show what is really going on in their own back yard. You want to be loved. You want to be desired. These are all healthy normal feelings. I'm, saying that even if your husband decides... "let me be intimate with her.... she deserves it.." You will undoubtedly STILL feel the disconnect from your husband because in your heart of hearts, as a human being, you know what the real deal is. I am sure god wants you to be happy. I am sure of that.

Help My husband is forcing me to eat.
Wow, sorry to hear this. it sounds like a control issue. Why don't you remind him that you need to eat according to what the doctor and surgery requires. He shouldn't be pressuring you into eating more, it is counter productive. If I were you, I would call the doctor and have him speak to the doctor directly. I mean, it sounds like someone needs to get through to him, other than yourself. Who better than your surgeon?

Exercise after Banding
Thanks, it sounds like a good plan. it doesn't sound like a good idea to jump into resistence training right away. I would be afraid to do that.

Ear Infection; Serious Question
:sick:help:hi everyone: I woke up with an ear infection today and my surgery is scheduled for 8/13 next week monday. Does anyone know whether taking antibiotics will interfere with the surgery at all? I figure I have to go to my primary care physician and get some antibiotics to take care of this before the surgery or suffer for the entire week which is not an option. Anyone with any information about this? Knowledge? Thanks:help:
