I woke up with an ear infection today and my surgery is scheduled for 8/13 next week monday. Does anyone know whether taking antibiotics will interfere with the surgery at all? I figure I have to go to my primary care physician and get some antibiotics to take care of this before the surgery or suffer for the entire week which is not an option.

Anyone with any information about this? Knowledge? Thanks:help:

An ear infection and the antibiotics needed to treat it should not hurt the lap band surgery plan. Get them started now so that will be one less discomfort when you have the surgery. I have suffered ear infections all of my life and make my own remedy: I dilute rubbing alcohol 50/50 with sterile saline, add a teaspoon of vinegar to each 1/2 cup of this solution, and put a few drops in my ears after shower or swimming. It really cuts down on the frequency of thos blasted painful ear infections.
