I'm also 8 weeks out and have stalled now twice. The first time at 2 weeks for 4 whole weeks. The second time at weeks 5-8 (so yup, I'm stalled AGAIN). I have lost practically nothing since being sleeved...in weight.
However, I'm now wearing clothes I haven't worn in YEARS! I also fit into places that were snug before (think bus and train seats with other people). I was frustrated at first too but now, I'm liking that the lbs are going slower than the inches...this will help my skin fare better so hopefully no droppy body.
I know the temptation of the scale but it is sooo much better to relax and go with the journey rather than stress yourself out with the scale.< /p>
Also, what type of workout are you doing? I am doing mostly strength training so I'm expecting my loss to be even slower than it has been. But I'm loving the way I'm looking in clothes/naked even at over 300 lbs. Plus, the extra compliments have been great...by losing inches people think I've lost wayyyyy more weight than I actually have.

I completely understand your frustration because I will be 8 weeks post-op on Tuesday and I am in the same boat. I think I have lost 4 pounds this month but yesterday I got on the scale and had gained 1.4 pounds. I am eating about 800 calories a day, which my dr. said to keep it between 800-1000. I am getting in my Protein and Water. I am walking 2 miles in just a little over 30 minutes every day. I am beyond frustrated. The only thing that is keeping me going is that my clothes do feel bigger so I think maybe I am losing inches instead of pounds but I am have to see it on the scale kind of girl! My dr. did say that if you would go back to liquids for a couple of days that it would jump start a stall. I hated every minute of liquids so I am not jumping on the band wagon to do that but I may have to. I am looking forward to seeing the responses from this post.

I am 8 weeks out and I am just not losing like I thought I would. I have stepped up the exercise, I am eating between 500-700 calories a day, I am almost hitting my Protein everyday, and the scale stays the same. Today it actually went up a lb.! The good thing is with only 15% of my stomach, I can't do something stupid like go stuff myself! I guess I am just getting frustrated after going through surgery and restricting what I eat that the 'payoff' is not what I thought it would be.
Start weight in Feb - 255
    Surgery weight June 11 - 219
    Today - 191.4
Am I being crazy? Am I expecting too much from my 'tool'? My NUT said expect about 3-5 lbs per week. I called her at 5 weeks because I stopped losing at 3 weeks and she said that I can't expect 3-5 lbs per week because I would disappear. I have only lost 6 lbs in the last 20 days, that just doesn't seem right.
Any suggestions wouldbe helpful. I am thinking of doing only liquids for a week, will that help or hinder? HELP!!!

I'm 12 weeks out and noticing more hair on my brush. BUT I am also noticing that I am a size 14 instead of a size 1X. It could be that I am just looking for it - but if its going to happen, its just going to happen. My mom lost ALL of her hair during chemotherapy, including her eyebrows - and STILL had to shave her legs! So I know it could always be worse!

Yup - everyone. You can take all the Biotin you want, eat all the Protein you can and take all the Vitamins you can swallow, but it will still fall out. Month 3-6 are the heavy shedding months. Most people stop losing after that. The hair that falls out is usually the dead or weaker hair follicles. Do not worry. It is just a phase. Your hair will be stronger, longer and more beautiful by month 9.

I recommend you imagine what you had done to your stomach (which is pretty brutal if you think about it seriously), and then truly consider why you don't want to stay on track...maybe you could find a support group or a professional who could help you with this as it sounds like some self sabotage happening. You can do this. You've taken the first few serious steps...now take it all the way

I talked to my doctor about stalls the other day and he said they are inevitable. I asked him how to end a stall and he said to up your exercise. I asked him about eating more and he said no don't change the diet just up the exercise. He also said to continually change things up with the exercise to keep your body guessing. Never keep the same pattern going otherwise your body will catch on to what you are doing and that can start a stall because your body is trying to correct itself. He also said if you are in a stall not to despair because your body can't win over the math. You WILL lose!! Hang in there!

Am I the only one with a stall? No weight loss in almost three weeks. Surgery was June 20th. I am drinking more than enough Water and getting plenty of Protein. Carbs are limited and I am going potty regularly. Not sure what is going on. I dipped below 300 for one day, and now I am back up to 303. Am I just one of those people who does not benefit from the sleeve - is there even a group like that - or am I the only one? Good descriptive words for me today are: angry, resentful, depressed, embarrassed

I was sleeved March 18, 2013. This has been an amazing journey so far. I had my first encounter with an old coworker since my surgery, and she literally didn't know who I was standing right in front of her. I get comments like, "Well, you're just withering away aren't you...". It's been sooooo nice. I never imagined this could be my life. I remember telling my Mom I was so nervous about getting surgery, because I was scared I was going to die. I had wanted to be "skinny" my entire life, and knowing this surgery was going to eventually help me achieve this... It seemed to good to be true. Well... I didn't die! I'm not by any means skinny... But I sure am on the right track to being healthy! Here's my before and after! Sw:305 Date of surgery: 292 Cw:203 Age:25 Height:5'4 The picture on the left is actually in April, 3 weeks AFTER surgery.

Wow, you've all been so helpful! I'm glad I'm not the only one going through this or who has gone through this. Thanks for all the support! I will try not to check the scale everyday and get discouraged if nothing changes. I will continue to get all my Protein and fluids in and hope for the best! Thanks so much, everyone!

I am not even sure it's a stall. Post surgery all is cattiwumpus. I GAINED weight in my first post-surgical week and in the second week lost nothing. AND your cycle will also play havoc with your weight... Relax. Just follow your program (and I bet it focuses on liquids and proteins). If I gave one piece of advice, don't weigh every day... It'll just drive you crazy!

I stalled the same for a few days around then. I don't think I was eating enough. Anyways, I stopped weighing every day and being obsessed cause it just upset me. I weighted after 3 days and was down about 4 more lbs. I think our bodies are just adjusting. Don't stress. I still don't believe I'll loose weight in my head but just be patient.

No need to panic. I hit a stall at exactly the same time. Mine lasted 3 weeks and I was completely horrified. You are not doing anything wrong, your body is just healing and adjusting, you will start losing again just keep focus on liquids and Protein up.

Exercise is crucial, I've seen incredible before and after pics of people who have nearly eliminated the batwings just with weight training, but I think most of us will require surgery to eliminate them. Either way, weight training is crucial.
