  1. I like Syntrax Double Stuffed Cookie and Isopure (grape/orange/coconut flavors). Bariatric Advantage orange cream is good too. :-)
  2. I was using nicotine replacement (gum/lozenges) and had surgery. I don't recall if my surgeon tested for it or not, but I did tell him. You might want to just discuss it with your surgeon. Hope that helps.
  3. I'm almost 3 months out and eating about 700 to 900 calories per day. I stalled for about a month starting at week 3, but have been losing fairly consistently since then. I'm down 47 pounds and I'm 5'3". Starting weight was 212. Hope that helps. :-) Btw, when I was stalled, my PA said to get 800 minimum. No more than 1,200, but that 800 - 1,000 would probably be best. She also said not to "eat back" exercise calories. I have a desk job, but also have 3 small kids. I haven't been exercising consistently. I think it really is 80% diet for me at this point.
  4. Flintstones complete (2) Calcium with vitamin D Biotin Potassium Sublingual B-12 (I've had Trader's Joes brand and Bariatric Advantage brand)
  5. Cashew and coconut here, too. :-)
  6. My week 3 stall lasted about a month. No kidding! I even gained a little. I have lost 45 pounds since 6/25, start of pre-op diet. Hang in there!
  7. It looks great. :-)
  8. I had 3 c-sections and I honestly thought the VSG recovery was harder. But, I didn't have a newborn baby to distract me either. Lol. :-) My doctor said the pain would be almost instantly relieved when the big stitch in the stomach muscle finally dissolved or disintegrated or whatever it does. For me, I think it took longer than I expected, like 3 or maybe even 4 weeks. When it happened, the 'dimple' in my side disappeared and the pain subsided.
  9. I am about 2 1/2 months post op and have a protein shake for breakfast every morning. I *love* the Syntrax double stuffed cookie flavor. It has 23 grams of protein and 100 calories. I make it with unsweetened vanilla almond milk (30 calories per cup). It tastes like a melted Oreo ice cream shake (to me). :-)
  10. I'm post-op now, but my pre-op diet was: 2 Protein shakes 2 Protein Bars dinner Dinner was: 5 oz of lean protein 1 - 3 cups veggies 1 serving of healthy fat Pre-op diet was 2 weeks. Last day was liquids only (protein shakes). I lost 15 pounds in 2 weeks pre-op. I didn't start any special diet until the required start date. :-)
  11. I had a stall that started about 2 weeks post op and lasted about a month. No kidding! But... I started losing again eventually and now I'm down 45 pounds since the start of my pre-op diet on 6/25/13. :-)
  12. Can you send me the instructions, please? I am having the same issue. Thanks.
  13. Height: 5'3" Start of pre-op diet 6/25: 212 Day of surgery 7/9: 197 CW: 172.4 39.6 pounds lost since 6/25 Goal: 130
  14. You've done such a great job! And you have beautiful hair. :-)
  15. May 1st to July 9th. With insurance. :-)
  16. I like the grape, orange and coconut flavored ones. :-)
  17. My doctor wrote a prescription for Nascobal, but my prescription plan didn't cover it even with a prescription because it is a Vitamin. Without insurance, it is very expensive. Like $300 or $400... I have taken the sublingual B-12 from Trader Joes and also the cherry flavored one from Bariatric Advantage. The one from Bariatric Advantage tastes better, in my opinion, but takes forever to dissolve. The one from Trader Joes dissolves almost instantly. If you watch for them, you can also get deals on the B-12 injections on Groupon, Living Social, etc. Hope that helps. :-)
  18. I really like Isopure. Just wish they weren't so expensive. :-)
  19. I gained 7 pounds between my consultation and the first day of my pre-op diet. And then lost 15 during my 2 week pre-op diet. Only the last day was only liquids. :-)
  20. Yes. :-). They pump you full of air during surgery and it takes time to work its way out.
  21. My doctor's PA said not to "eat back" calories burned through exercise. I asked this specifically because of MFP.
  22. For me, I start to feel pressure. That's it. :-)
  23. My weight loss has slowed significantly and the PA told me to eat at least 800 calories per day. She first said between 800 and 1200, but when I asked her where to start in that range, she said between 800 and 900 (or 1,000 - I can't remember for sure). I'm almost 2 months out. This was at my 6 week checkup.
