Stupidity Caused Worst PB Ever
LMAO @ "projectile" burping..... It is called "productive" burping. If you do a search for PB you will find the answer explained many times in numerous threads. Thanks Tammy, you have me giggling so hard! I needed that!

Erosion & Re-Banding
Funny thing is, that in a case of erosion and the need for removal my insurance will pay for the RNY. But they won't pay for the lap band itself or fills. Go figure!

But I couldn't use that HUGE spoon they gave me so I whipped out my handy dandy baby soft-tip spoon I keep in my purse! (I also keep a tiny lobster fork in there in case your wondering hee hee hee).

I took pictures of my scars TODAY! Funny how you should say this! I am going to get them back tomorrow and post them by tomorrow night. I will post them under this thread if I can. They look great. I am 13 days post op tomorrow. Jenna

Weightloss Challenge
Actually, I joined 3 days before I went to surgery, which weight was 217. But it took me awhile to get listed and didn't get listed till after I had gotten back and lost a bit already! But it is ok, if it must stay that is ok. I am going to ROCK this lap band once I can start exercising again! Thanks Crystal for the wooots!

When can I remove my 4x4's for good?
Tough question, stick with whatever your doctor had. I am soooo glad I had glue over the steri strips! Those peel off my skin and scar me!

Soda Pop?
Ahemmmmm, have you tried it? ((just kidding ))

Banded
Val, I am so sorry you are having a rough time. I bet you just need some good ol' fashioned rest and you will feel much better in the coming days! I hope your recovery is speedy. Welcome to Band land! I know it isn't all peaches and cream right now but after awhile you will be so glad you did this I am sure!

Weightloss Challenge
My weight was 202 today. My original starting weight day of surgery was 217 (not 212 like the waisting away site says, can i get that fixed??). So I have lost a total of 15 lbs thus far.

I'm banded, sorry for the slow announcment!
Amber, So glad you finally posted and you are doing well! Be careful on walking too much. I did and regretted it. Are your protein shakes liquid or blended with any solids? If so, they are creamy/mushies not liquids I think. I had to just be on CLEAR liquids for one week and if I wanted to take the protein I could only mix with a liquid and ice to a watery texture.

How do you feel about kids banded?
I think this is one of those cases that would be acceptable as we have said. I know for me it was case by case for sure. I think you did a great thing by trying differnent programs first, self educating, nutritionist couseling, good support at home. I think these are the things that are important in a mom deciding if banding is right for their child or not. And of course there is the medical issue. Karen, I don't think you did wrong at all. It sounds like you did all you could and have banding as the last resort. Good job!

Urine issue
Can I get 60oz of water in at 11 days post op? I get about 1/3 a bottle and I am stuffed! I think that may be it too. Thanks all for helping me with my bowels

Urine issue
Okay, I have a serious question. I have noticed since banding that my urine is VERY yellow and has a strong odor. Is this normal?

OT: Help, my Jade plant is dying..
Try naming them and "talking" to them. I know its an old wives tale but I think it actually works! I swear that some of mine knew I was mad at them and just gave up!

Jenna's powerball winnings!
ya know... eventually we are going to have to delete this thread to avoid newbies thinking I actually won this money rather than the GREATEST LBT APRIL FOOLS GAG OF ALL TIME ((crowds cheering))

Soda Pop?
My doctor says no more carbonated liquids ever again. The nutritionist says it stretches out the pouch a bit and is bad for you anyways. I gave up soda pop a month ago now and I honestly think I feel better because of it. Plus, I use Coca Cola to get stains off my toilet and clean my car rims. Do you really want that going in your new tummy anyways?

If You Could Change 1 or 2 things about your Doctor what would it be?
I would have the EXACT same surgeon but I think I would feel better in the end if he could have done it in the US. Also, I would have taken my husband for my companion rather than my mom and sister. Hubby has a better bedside manner. And I would pack a lighter suitcase, I didn't need 1/2 the stuff I brought.

OT: Help, my Jade plant is dying..
those look fine kathy! Just give them a day then plant them (some may try and sprout, they may not) Don't Water them right away and let them root. The Jade plant is probably the most hearty and "hard to kill" plant next to the cactus. I don't know if that makes you feel any better lol but I think it will bounce back. If anything else, the Jade is not very expensive and you can take your experiences and start anew. I have killed MANY a plant and learned from it! My first vegetable garden was a DISASTER! Plus, I live in Arizona and have to deal with all other kinds of issues like heat, sun, watering, our soil, bugs, etc. No worries, it will all work out.

How do you feel about kids banded?
Absolutely, I think it should be case by case. But I think parents need more parenting skills too. I understand that there are medical complications that make people gain weight too. It is just too common these days that parents have no clue what their preteen or teen is doing/eating/going/etc. I know that I may have a tight leash on my child age 12 but I also know that he is eating healthy, exercising and being a generally good kid. I think parents should be more aware of eating habits, where they go (are they junking food at the theatre?), WHO they hang around with, etc. If a person is 400lbs at age 16 I think we need to look at the parent for not doing their job first, then try and fix the problem through education and information. But recently I saw one post about a 12 year old getting banded and I was APALLED! But I agree, band before bypass for sure!
