sexyslim2be reacted to julia7665 in 4 months post op
Hi, I'm almost 4 months post op (6/26/2013) and the weight loss has slowed way down (kind of frustrated). My highest weight was 212 and surgery weight was 188. I am at 146 today and I have about 21 lbs to be at my goal of 125 lbs. I am short only 5'0".
I haven't been exercising as much as I should and I know I need to change that. I just need to get motivated and I am having a hard time doing that. I have gone on a couple of hikes with my husband which I have never been able to do and actually did an 8 mile hike in 2 days a few weeks ago! I was so very proud of myself!
It hasn't been easy, it's hard work making good decisions and I do admit I don't always make good decisions, but it's a work in progress. Getting the sleeve done was one of the best decisions I have ever made and I would do it again in a heart beat. I feel so good and I'm getting my self esteem back. Thanks for listening!

You look great!!! You can loose more by cutting out anything white in your diet. Stick to meats and lots of green veggies for about 10 days to reboot your metabolism. Keep up the great work :-). You must be on the tall side because u look like you lost way more than 91 lbs. Beautiful!!!

The best way to relieve this gas is to lean on counter only bending top half slightly....watch the wonders happen. Hope this helps.

The correct response to a repeat post is to help the new member of the family out. If it's simple, give a correct answer and move on. If it's more complicated, the answer might look something like:
This question comes up quite often. The high level answer is xyz. But if you're looking for more details or a bunch of other opinions, check out this thread from earlier this week: [insert link from thread here]. You can also use the search function and look for [abc] to find other threads about this.
That way, you help train a newbie and still give useful info. Look at you, offering the same support that you want! Feels good, right?
Or if it really irritates you, just drive on by to a post that doesn't bug you, as others have said. Someone else will help out the noob.

I can look back to my first 20 posts on here and feel silly because I did the same thing.
When you're a newbie, you don't know how to navigate the site. It's especially hard if you're doing most of your surfing on a smartphone.
Maybe Alex's first message should include some instructions on how to better navigate the site, use the search, set up tickers, etc.
I don't always mind people asking the same questions, sometimes there are new answers. Being a newbie is part of the process, but we all have the option to pass over a thread if we don't want to engage. I will post if I feel I can add something useful to the conversation, to pay it forward in return for those who put up with me.

So, I decided that I was going to donate food to a local food pantry for every pound I lose...here is the first 39 pounds worth on its way to be delivered to a local food pantry.

It takes a lot of discipline not to cheat which most of us don't have that's why we had to get the sleeve. Cheating is understandable but you have to remember why you had this surgery.
If you cheat you are only cheating yourself. You have to gain control over your cravings. It's not easy but u can do it.
My mom always tell me that this food will be here forever. mc Donald's isn't about to go out of business and one u reach ur goal then have some. Good luck and hang in there.

I am officially 6 months post op tomorrow and i am down 71 pounds.
    Starting weight: 256
    Current weight: 185
Goal weight: 140-150 (depending on how i look at 150)
I said i wanted to get into a bikini by 6 months.. and honey I did. Didn't say I would wear it... just wanted to get into it! At a terrible stall however. I've not recorded a lost in an entire month. I'm working out every single day (even see my abs starting to form) and the scale just won't move. At first I thought it was Water weight. Now I just have no clue! Anyone have any suggestions on how to jumpstart this weight loss again?!?!? If not, I'm going to have to try the pouch test.

Remember everyone I know we are all dying to taste some real food but please do your best to follow your doctors instructions. I keep telling myself I am stronger than the food that I have consumed all these years that helped me blossom to 303 pds. Mind over matter..We are stronger than the food we put into our mouths. Take a walk, read a book, watch a movie, drink a few sips of your favorite Protein Shake (we can never get enough of those good ole Protein drinks) or just take a nap. Be strong

So today I say my doctor and had my first official weigh in.................I am down 17 pounds and this includes the pre op liquid diet. I was hoping for 20 pounds but I am very happy with the 17. I have lost about 10 inches as well all around. The clothes are fitting looser and I can now sit comfortably indian style. This I love!! He also gave me the all clear to start eating soft foods and adding more regular foods one at a time. I had some vegetables at lunch (soft) and it was wonderful!! I am so happy with my new life. I laugh at that first night worry, you know the one........What the hell did I do!!! I get to start swimming now and have already been going to the gym doing the recumbent bike but now I can get in the pool!! I am working at learning new recipes and food combinations that will be fulfilling. Life is good!!

Today has been a little hard with trapped gas in my chest and dry heaves but I'm on anti nausea and its helped a lot. I have a challenging roommate she keeps complaining about various stupid things to the nurses. Things that aren't my fault like the heart monitor beeping, saying she can't sleep bc of it plus my walks. I'm being as quiet as I can but now it's my turn to giggle bc she just wet her bed.

    cato01 hi there
sure its possible to get back on that horse
    you lost 65 lbs before!!!
    way to go!!!!
get a head start, back to basics with Protein shakes
    follow all Water rules
    30 minutes - don't drink before eating
never drink during meal (people have been shot for less!)
don't drink for about 45-60 minutes after you eat
get at least 64 oz of H20 a day
    small portions
    chew, chew, chew little bites
put utensil down between bites - and wait til you continue to eat
    measure your food
    put it on small plate
hows that for reminder of basics/and what you will continue to do for the rest of your healthier, happier, longer life!!!!
    do you have a NUT?
if not maybe try and get one for a few consultations through health insurance,
or its worth it to pay on your own if you can
i see it in your pretty face, smile and eyes, that you are a strong determined lady
    now, get going
do not pass go, do not collect $200.00
    I KNOW you will succeed
    good luck

Congratulations to you 67 lbs is a lot. Hang in there. I haven't been sleeved yet. I am waiting to see my surgeon. I have been reading stories after stories and what I am realizing its that the people who consistly have the drastic losses are doing low carb high Protein diets. This is what I normally do also. I'm not a calorie counting person. Good luck and hang in there you are doing great.
