I stalled from week 3 to week 7, then dropped 6lbs in 2 days, and I've been losing consistently since. I'm 11.5 weeks out

I'm a complete idiot. I told my younger sister (40 yrs old) that I am having it done and because I'm going to Mexico she had a fit. I wish I had just kept my mouth shut and left in 10 days without saying a word to anyone other than my adult son. So later today I will be at a family bbq and will have to tell my father and older sister (she is a nurse) because if I don't the younger sister will. Not that any of them will change my mind but I really dont want to hear it.
I spoke to my pcp on friday and he is on board with me going to Mexico. Very supportive. In fact he told me to stay away from anyone that was negative about my decision and to do what I knew was best for me. So that is eactly what I'm going to do. If the older sister and dad have a problem with it I will go home and call them when I get home on the 17th.
As far as friends and co-workers go...I've told several and most have been supportive. All are scared that I have chose to go alone but that is exactly how I want it.

AWESOME! yayayayayayayeeeee! Feels great, doesn't it?
the last time I took my meds for type 2 diabetes was pre-surgery, and then three months later I ot my A-1c reading and it was 4.5, and three months later the same and has never moved more than +/- .2 - that was 20 months ago.
As of now I am in total remission. My body has been confirmed to be releasing and processing insulin regularly now.

It happens everywhere, not just Mexico. There's info on VSG deaths all over the web. Stories about blood clots and surgical error. It's always a possibility but it's still safer than driving a car!

For years I wanted to go to a Yoga class. Yesterday I attended my first class! I was able to hang for the whole class. So I was beyond thrilled! Afterwards my sister and I walked on the treadmill for a couple miles and spent some time on the stepper too. We finished up with a healthy fruit Protein smoothie from the gym's bar to celebrate! Can't wait to try Zumba and Pilates!!! Loving this sleeved life! Blessings!

So when I went to the surgeon I was 447 (6'1). When I went for my 2 week pre op visit I was 428. Started my 2 week pre op diet and was 409 the day of surgery (7/18/13). Today 3 weeks post op I am 378 pounds. First 50 pounds off from pre op diet till today.
    I ABSOLUTELY LOVE my sleeve!!!!
I really wish I did this in my twenties, but at 33 I will be healthy by 35!!!

The bariatric nurse coordinator told me yesterday that for the first month after surgery you may lose some weight and then gain some back or not lose much at all. She also said that once I am one month out, I will start really losing weight. So don't get too distressed over a little stall. It won't be long till you will be looking fabulous. Trust me.

In the beginning yes it was hard to swallow.. but thats why they tell you to sip sip sip til your stomach heals..and you also had a tube down your throat.. so pain is normal for that. Im almost 8mo out and I drink a lot better than I did in the beginning. I used to think is this ever going to be normal? and the answer is Yes it is.. cant gulp like I used to .. but thats ok... cuz it does hurt to do that... and hurts my stomach. so im still careful about drinking too fast... but everything does get better for sure.. .I get people asking me all the time.. do you eat regular food? Im like no I eat alien food.. of course I eat food. lol. I said and i chew it just like you do too.. and omg I swallow too.. and other people go what do you eat? im like food.. what do you eat? People are so funny LOL.. but all will get better I promise... just sip sip sip til you get healed... best of luck to you in your new journey... mine has been fabulous.. in 8mo im down 110lbs and 26lbs from my goal wt.. not bad.. not bad at all..

You have been very open and honest with your regret and I'm sorry so many people have attacked for it. Your feelings are what they are. But I can't help but hope that one day you will be able to come in and say, ya, know, maybe this was a good thing.
I really do hope that for you.
