  1. I'd blame your TOM for the tears and the mini gain. I agree with everyone. It's temporary and It will come off. Just be kind to yourself today, drink lots, and maybe turn off your phone..... ???? It's going to work for you!!!
  2. Obviously, most people need the surgery because of complex disordered eating habits. although I'm super happy your surgery went well, for many people, this would not be the case. the pre op is also in part to psychologically prepare you for the POST op and to avoid Complications. don't get me wrong, I had my own pre op struggles, but frankly, I think you had horseshoes hidden up somewhere....
  3. I was self pay in MX and it was 14,000 CDN. I'm happy with my surgeon and I know the surgery is worth every penny!!!
  4. Thank you very much for sharing this!!! I will print it off!!
  5. You guys are so amazing..... thank you for putting this into perspective. You're absolutely right, and it's just good to have your wonderful words of wisdom to remind me. What a great gift you all are!!!!! XOXO
  6. Ok... so I've made it through this process without crying ONCE. (a small miracle.) and I've felt awesome the last few days. I'm Day 6 post op, no complications, feeling VERY grateful. BUT... It's my birthday today and for some reason I'm SO SAD that I can't stuff my face like I have every year for the past 31 years. Water and powerade is not cake. Im not even hungry, so Why am I feeling so blue.....? How do you deal with special occasions post op???
  7. Hang in there...this was the toughest time for me too... not drinking, feeling nauseous and vomitting, and the pain meds made me so agitated! Just breathe, try to sleep and stay focused on positive thoughts for your leak test tomorrow! You got this!!
  8. Ooo! That sounds interesting! Where do you get it??
  9. May 21st is my birthday, so it's a good day! You're all gonna rock it! I was SO scared 5 days ago, and I'm not gonna lie... The first few nights were a bit rough, but not impossible. I'm feeling awesome, sipping away and looking forward to the future! Here's to you!! my birthday wish is for everyone to have smooth recoveries!! And since its my birthday, I plan on getting what I want!! Haha!
  10. So glad to hear you're ok!! Wishing you all the best with a quick recovery, and in your healthy new, hopefully heart-complication FREE life post sleeve!!
  11. I had surgery May 15, and I'm down 5lbs (likely just the weight of my stomach) but down 17lbs since starting Pre op!! Yeah!!! We're doin this thang!!! I was really afraid this would be another big diet fail, but praying this is the last time I will EVER be this weight again!!
  12. My surgeon told me a story about a patient that drank too much Protien shake too quickly after surgery and ended up with a leak and other scary issues, so all patients are on a 2 week clear liquid post op diet. She said Listen to your body, go slow, respect your tiny new tummy. She also told me about someone that ate pizza 4 days out and almost died.... crazy crazy....Ima stick to the liquids for a few more weeks. although I'll admit that im not hungry, I am SUPER bored and thinking about getting to the 'real food' phases.
  13. This is exciting!!! You're gonna do GREAT!!
  14. I was terrified, but it's all good! Be brave - You got this!!!! Your new life awaits!!
  15. You're gonna ROCK it!!! I'm 5 days out, Stay positive, be patient! Every day gets better and better!
  16. Just FYi, I passed the leak test today! Yay!! fingers crossed for no 'late leaks'!!!! or any complications. Super tired and the pain meds make me very agitated and restless so I might ditch them... ready to feel 'normal' but I realize this is a new normal, and it may take a while. THANK YOU ALL for your thoughts and prayers. I really appreciate it!!!!! xoxoxoxox
  17. How long does it take to regain energy? I feel like I can't stay awake for more than an hour or walk anywhere without being completely exhausted! Just released from hospital today (still at the hotel but not sure how I will have the energy for the long trip home on Sunday...?) also youre right...water/Gatorade is a full time job. Supposed to drink 64-96 oz a day. Is this really possible???
  18. Yeah, they pumped me full of Anti nausea stuff, but not much helped. I'm feeling better today just the occasional' 'spit up' and a pukey feeling. Tomorrow is the leak fest, so really hoping for the best!!!
  19. Yep! I just had a shower, not too much walking yet but that's my plan today! did you drink anything before your leak test? nothin for me until after tomorrow morning.
  20. Well... hopefully the hardest part is over.... It was a pretty rough night, of dry heaving and regurgitating (i'll spare you the details) but my medical team was awesome and I'm feeling MUCH better today. Leak lest tomorrow, then hopefully home free and Popsicle time! Fingers crossed! Thanks for all your encouraging words!!!
