Day 3 sleever - question

How long does it take to regain energy? I feel like I can't stay awake for more than an hour or walk anywhere without being completely exhausted! Just released from hospital today (still at the hotel but not sure how I will have the energy for the long trip home on Sunday...?) also youre right...water/Gatorade is a full time job. Supposed to drink 64-96 oz a day. Is this really possible???

Was about 3 weeks for me to return to just about normal.

I am post op May 6th and I got a lot more energy around day 5 or 6. Now day I have been on my feet most of the day and feel very tired and weak around 3 o'clock and need to take a rest. I find if I get all my food and liquids in I have a lot more energy. Hang in there.

Oh, Danelle, I feel just like you. This is my 3rd day after my sleeve and I have to take a nap a couple times a day. Can't seem to get all the liquids in either. And my doc in the hospital told me at discharge to walk, walk, walk. I've tried to get some in but just taking my shower in the morning tired me out. Plus I can't seem to get back on a regular sleep schedule. Hopefully some of the sleevers that have had it longer will have good advice for both of us. Hope you feel better soon.

Danelle, I feel sort of the opposite. Except for soreness from the drain, I feel close to normal. Not a good thing when I can't go home still for 3 more days, plus, I'm already dealing with wanting more than Clear Liquids. Except for not having any "true" hunger right now, I feel like I could eat anything. Haven't tried, of course, but don't have any trouble drinking.

Not trying to hijack your thread...I'm sorry you're feeling so tired! I know from previous surgeries that sometimes it takes days just to get all the general anesthesia out of your system..each day will get better!
