  1. I think I might just do miso soup or the salad with the ginger dressing post op.
  2. I can't offer help because I haven't had my surgery yet but I have had surgery and I had no clue that I get super nauseated after..I had a hour and a half ride home and that was hell then hours after being home I threw up...I tell you I would rather be in pain than feel nauseated all the time so I know how you feel. I will tell them the moment I step into the hospital to put me on some good meds lol.
  3. Was anyone else told by their surgeon to try and lose a certain amount of weight? I was told to try and lose 20 pounds (10% of my weight) by the end and I'm really worried that I won't be able to do it and if I do I might gain it back before the last appointment. But I've never been able to lose that much weight. I'm much better at maintaining it. =\
  4. Congratulations!
  5. Oh my bad I thought this said pre op haha congratulations that's great!
  6. How did you do it and was it over 3 or 6 months?
  7. I can't cheat cause my surgeon told me I have to try and lose 20 for her to do the surgery >.>
  8. My nurse said that staying on depo is not a bad thing because you get calcium back and being on the depo is the same as being pregnant or getting old you lose calcium with those things as well. That was the very reason I was thinking of switching to the skyla but after talking to my doctor and doing some more research my mind is at ease. I hear that most women getting spotting or periods on IUD but on depo I don't get anything. So I'm staying on the depo.
  9. People are so judgmental. They don't ever stop to think that maybe that person has physical or mental problems. It pisses me off when they tell you to lose weight a specific way, in my head I'm like shut the hell up and let me lose weight the way I need too. I don't see it as the easy way, you still have to work out and watch what you eat and there are just as many struggles. They won't understand that so I just bite my tongue
  10. This is my 3 year old cat Sophie
  11. Congratulations and good luck!
  12. where did you get yours and what's it called?
  13. I don't understand why some surgeons want you to lose weight to shrink the liver when you can just do a 2 week diet. I'm a apple so I need to try and lose 20 pounds to shrink my liver =.=
  14. I just found out its contagious and my grandma whom I had been raised by and living with has it! She never told me so I'm going to talk to my coordinator or pcp to get tested...I moved out two years ago but she found out like 4 years ago (again no one told me) so I'm hoping I'm lucky but I doubt it. Didn't your doctor prescribe you meds when you found out? Or did those not work?
  15. Usually insurances won't require co morbilities if you are 40+ BMI but mine requires everyone to have type 2 diabetes. Depending on the size of your liver you might be required to lose a % of your body fat. Since I'm a apple shape I need to lose 10%
  16. If the skin is a problem your doctor needs to document it and then send it in. They don't always cover it though. I see a lot of people go to Mexico
  17. I would like contact information too please animalcookiess@hotmail.com
  18. Thank you for posting pics. I'd like to see the results once they have healed..not trying to sound Pervy lol
  19. I think everyone should have hope but prepare their mind for plastics. I'm 20 and ill be 21 come surgery time but I've been fat since 13 and all my weight is in my stomach and boobs. I don't have the money for plastics so I hope my age is enough but odds are ill prob need a breast lift and a tummy tuck..I'm hoping my insurance will cover the tuck if I have enough problems but ill have to start saving now.
  20. its annoying though cause cotinine can stay in your body up to 30 days and I can't start my surgery process till I test negative for it
  21. Does everyone have the option to get a video? I'm so asking on my last appointment!
  22. So I can't start my 6 months till I test negative for cotinine. so that means no smoking or chewing which I'm not a smoker but my whole family is and I was told to stay away from second hand smoke...well I can't seem to escape it even though I'm trying hard to avoid car rides and stand away from every one buy I keep inhaling bits of it. Hopefully that doesn't show up but if it does I'm staying in my room till my next test.....
  23. I'm only 20 but I've been over weight since I was 13.. Almost all my weight is in my stomach and boobs so I expect a tummy tuck and a boob lift with maybe breast augmentation. I keep picturing my self as a blob of extra skin. And it sucks cause I can't afford reconstruction surgery. I expect ill never be happy with my body but at least ill be healthy and able to keep up with everyone my age so that's a plus. My surgeon says almost every one she has done surgery on ends up needing some kind of reconstruction.
  24. dont you have to have cash to go to Mexico though? I won't ever have enough to out right pay for it all but I can finance
