I got my biopsy back and it's an allergy to the sun (Lichenoid photodermatitis). I researched it and come to find out, photosensitivity can be caused by medications, one of them being Omeprazole. I am weening myself off it to see if that helps. I've had this rash for a little over 4 weeks now. Hopefully getting of that medication helps.

About 2 weeks ago I got a rash that is on my arms, hands, legs and stomach. I went to the dr and he said to take an antihistamine and have me a Rx for a steroid cream. It's not going away. I read that when you go through fat loss and in ketosis, the toxins are being released at a rapid rate which causes the itchy rash. Has anyone experienced this and how long does it last??? I'm going crazy, not only from the itching, but my arms and legs are so ugly looking!

I went through MBC as well and wasn't too impressed. Although Christy answered several questions, I didn't receive an answer to some. They changed the hospital on me too. Dr Kelly never came by my hotel to do the last checkup. I'm happy I got my sleeve, but could have had a better experience altogether.

I have no regrets what so ever. Never. I don't have a problem eating and most certainly don't have any issue socializing because I'm sleeved. WLS is what you make it and I've made it my lifestyle. My new socializing is just eating like a normal human and not like a pig. No one even knows about my surgery and they don't even notice my smaller portions as being odd. I don't slime, foam or get sweats because I learned right off what I can and cannot do with my sleeve. My hair fell out for a few months, but I was prepared and not shocked. I don't take anymore Vitamins than I did pre-op.
Life is wonderful.. And my sleeve makes it even better LOVE MY SLEEVE!

You'll lose as much as your body wants you to lose in the first month. Everyone - and I mean everyone - is completely different in their weight loss journey. Focus on the rules (protein, hydration, Vitamins, etc.) and the scale WILL go down! A number does not define you!

    Lolly,
Girl! There are sharks on these boards and when they see you talking about pizza, doritos, etc.. they smell the blood in the Water and you are toast!! As for me, I had this surgery so I could live like a normal person, eating normal portions and end my dieting, food obsession nightmare. I am not living my life on Protein Shakes. That said, I still have to have a Protein Shake everyday to get all my Protein in because I am only 2 months out. I am a lucky one who has a sleeve of steel and have only barfed once and I think I ate too fast and didn't chew well enough. I tolerate everything. I ate a very small piece of thin crust delight pizza from papa murphys at about 6 weeks. I was full. It was great, I used to eat 4-5 pieces to feel full before.

I went with Dr. Kelly at Florence Hospital. I only saw him 3 times and he never came to the hotel like the assistant told me he would. Alhough, he was a very nice, sincere man. Hospital florence is nice (the hospitals there are nothing like ours here in the state). The nursing staff was nice and friendly, they just don't speak much English. Overall my experience was good. I went by myself and wished I would have taken someone with me. I just like that comfort when I'm in pain. I think you will like Dr. Kelly!!

The company I went through charged 5200. I am 10 days post op and could have gone to work last week but I took two weeks off. I have found everyone is different through.

You don't stretch your sleeve by the number of calories you consume, you stretch your sleeve with the QUANTITY of food you consume.
I have always been confused by the low cal requirements given for most, other than understanding that you cannot consume an abundance of food because of the size of your new stomach. But I always thought why not consume higher calorie foods that are good nutritional calories, low in quantity, and have the ability NOT to force your body into starvation mode, as well as NOT cause those things people experience, like: hair loss, fatigue, dizziness, and out of whack metabolism.
I see my Nut next week and I'm definitely having this conversation.
