  1. About 2 weeks ago I got a rash that is on my arms, hands, legs and stomach. I went to the dr and he said to take an antihistamine and have me a Rx for a steroid cream. It's not going away. I read that when you go through fat loss and in ketosis, the toxins are being released at a rapid rate which causes the itchy rash. Has anyone experienced this and how long does it last??? I'm going crazy, not only from the itching, but my arms and legs are so ugly looking!

dietcokegirl ---yeah I know I need to change it since I no longer drink diet coke
  3. I went through MBC as well and wasn't too impressed. Although Christy answered several questions, I didn't receive an answer to some. They changed the hospital on me too. Dr Kelly never came by my hotel to do the last checkup. I'm happy I got my sleeve, but could have had a better experience altogether.
  4. I had my surgery on May 16, 2013 with Dr. Kelly at Florence, so he still is operating out of that hospital. Unless it has changed since then.

    Low carb rash

I got my biopsy back and it's an allergy to the sun (Lichenoid photodermatitis). I researched it and come to find out, photosensitivity can be caused by medications, one of them being Omeprazole. I am weening myself off it to see if that helps. I've had this rash for a little over 4 weeks now. Hopefully getting of that medication helps.

What did you eat today :) ?

I am dietcokegirl, soon to be changed lol I can't add people on my phone for some reason.
  7. I wish mine looked that great at 12 days! I'm 1 mo post op and still have clear stitches sticking out--looks kind of like fishing line. Anyone else have this? I would have thought by now they would have dissolved on the inside and dallied off on the outside.

    Low carb rash

I totally feel you! Mine keeps spreading.
  9. I have a rash all over. My legs, arms, hands, chest and stomach. It started on my legs and has spread over the course of 2 weeks. It's miserable! The dermatologist was stumped.
  10. I'm four weeks today and have lost 20 lbs since surgery.

    Low carb rash

I went to the dermatologist today because I've had the rashes for 2 weeks and its spreading to my chest and belly. They were stumped and had to do a biopsy. I hope it goes away soon!

My friend told me Lavender and Roman Chamomile essential oils help with rashes. Also pure coconut oil.

  16. For you post opers out there... Does it eventually get to where you can't feel the food entering your stomach? I'm 2 weeks post and can feel the food in my belly once it goes down...like it spasms.

    Alone in Mexico

I went to TJ alone and wished I would have brought someone, just because I like that company when I'm in pain. Everyone that I met had someone with them so I didn't didn't really get to know them. The only additional charges are usually airfare and food. But again, I didn't take anyone with me so I'm not 100% sure.
  20. The company I went through charged 5200. I am 10 days post op and could have gone to work last week but I took two weeks off. I have found everyone is different through.

    My Mexico Story

I was at Florence that same time, but had my surgery the night of may 16th. I spoke with Peter and his wife too! They're so nice. Glad you had someone with you. I was by myself, which was kind of hard. Thanks for taking time out and sharing your story!
  22. I went with Dr. Kelly at Florence hospital. I only saw him 3 times and he never came to the hotel like the assistant told me he would. Alhough, he was a very nice, sincere man. Hospital Florence is nice (the hospitals there are nothing like ours here in the state). The nursing staff was nice and friendly, they just don't speak much English. Overall my experience was good. I went by myself and wished I would have taken someone with me. I just like that comfort when I'm in pain. I think you will like Dr. Kelly!!

    Denied by aetna any advice?

It depends on the dr you choose to go with. Mine was $5200 plus airfare.
  24. My restrictions were nothing over 25 lbs for 2 weeks. My baby is 25 lbs and I have no choice but to lug him around. I haven't felt pain and feel fine. But it's up to your doctor.
