My favorite clear liquid is the seasoning packet from a package of Ramen noodles in 2 cups of hot Water. I add a scoop of non-flavered Protein and I'm ready to go! I also love this because when everyone else is eating I feel as though I'm getting real food also.

So u just have to post this because I know you will all understand. I am in desperate need of clothes for work that are not falling off me. I went to Goodwill because I can't justify spending lots of money on clothes that I will only wear for a month or so if best. I went and really didn't know what size I needed. I grabbed a couple sizes and went to the dressing room. Long story short. I fit in a 22! I was so elated! I went from a size 30 pants only 3 months ago, to a 22! And actually, I'd say a 20 in a few weeks. The 22 were not tight at all. Sorry, I just had to share because I know you will all understand! I can't remember a time that I had to go down a size, and not go up...

You gave me this advice a couple of weeks ago and it has been a lifesaver. Was never much of a milk drinker but now I wake up and have to have a glass. Thanks for the advice - it has worked for me. Now if I could just get the food part down a little better ill be blowing and going!

I am on the puréed stage. Ate mushy egg salad yesterday & some mashed (not quite puréed) flaky fish tonight. Only able to eat small amounts -which is good

Doing pretty good.. Getting a little stronger & more energy each day. No pain med needed since first day after leaving hospital. Honestly just sick & tired of BROTH!!!! Sadly, I'll be glad to drink Protein Drinks & yogurt (gross!!) -- 2 days left of this clear liquid fun!! Struggle to get required fluids (min 60 oz) each day but trying to drink as much as I can--- down 5 lbs since surgery--

Able to shop & find something that fits in a dept store that isn't a Women's ext size store or has a W after the number.
Able to get on an amusement park ride with my kid without the fear of not fitting

mytime2shine reacted to notmeanymore in sometimes this thing makes no sense to me
I joke that its like witchcraft because it just doesnt make sense. When I hit a stall, I will up my calories and eat something that is higher in fat like an avocado or more nuts than normal and bam, stall broken. I do appreciate knowing that it works most of the time but still aim to maintain my healthier eating and physical lifestyle but sometimes you just need that scale to move.

I am down a 100# and man I feel great. anyone wondering if you should have this surgery the answer is YES. I was on 600mg of blood pressure medication daily. And was about to be put on medication for diabetes. Now I'm of all medication, my daily blood pressure reading is about 117/78. I paid cash for my surgery and it was worth every penny.

I downloaded this VSG app on my iPad only a week ago. I must say that it has been one of the best tools. I am addicted to it now. Everyone is so helpful and willing to share. I have learned sooo much here. So many answers to questions that I was afraid to or did not think to ask. Thanks VSG community!

mytime2shine got a reaction from ladylaura in lets be honest, 1 week post op
Well I have to confess, I took a couple of bites of shrimp BUT chewed them up & spit it out (Gross, I know--but I had to chew something).
Trying to follow my Dr's diet as close as I can. On full liquid phase now so somewhat easier to not go completely crazy. Now that I can eat (watery) grits & cream of wheat-at least I feel like I have eaten something!
I have to keep reminding myself that regular food is just a few weeks away-but that now is the time to focus on healing & preparing to make better choices for the future.

mytime2shine got a reaction from Jackie31 in 6 days post op & could use a pep talk!
Tomorrow marks one week since my surgery (6/6). Down 6 lbs since surgery. Down 29 lbs total. Full liquids start tomorrow--- so I cheated a little and had very runny grits tonight ( which is okay tomorrow--lol) -- they were oh-so-yummy!!! Just what I needed!! Ate a little too much too fast (little overly excited) and had some 'full' like pain that lasted for about 20 mins but boy, did I learn my lesson
Energy level up & soreness is down-- feeling better everyday.

I use Top Ramen Soup (minus the noodles) and add one egg while broth is cooking until egg is fully cooked. I also only use 1/2 the packet of seasoning mix as it can be high in sodium. It's perfect and delicious during the full liquid / soft food stage.

mytime, I just picked up Bobby Deen's cookbook - from mama's table to mine, i think it's called. He has a recipe for shrimp & grits that is around 250 calories a serving! My husband and I are originally from Wisconsin, so grits are a little foreign, but he orders them every time he's in Alabama for work and the low-cal ones were pretty good, he said

I was as nervous as imaginable -- this was my first surgery ever... Even had some thoughts about canceling but thankfully I did it & everything was fine. The first night, i was sore with some nausea but had wonderful nurses that gave me some morphine & phengren & i slept well. Still dealing with sore abdomen & moving a little slow but other than that no problems
Prayers & best wishes for an in eventful surgery & recovery for you!!
