Holy cow, you look GORGEOUS!!! Love the outfit too! I have a houndstooth gray & black skirt suit that I bought in Paris a loooooong time ago, BC = before children ~ lol! The style is classic so I can wear it anytime but it hasn't fit since the early 90's! I've held on to it all these years because I love it so much & I've actually gone in my guestroom closet, just to look at it sometimes! I hope that I'll be able to wear it again someday. Not too sure I can get down that much but that houndstooth suit is my hope! Thanks for sharing your pic!

I haven't gotten to 3 months yet but I have read on this board (over & over & over) that the dreaded 3 month stall is very common. All I can say is what I've read to switch up your diet a little. Eat a bit more calories, drink a bit more Water (remember, the more water you drink, the more your body shrinks!) & not sure what else, but you can do a search on it. There are lots of seasoned Sleevers here who give great advice! Just don't get discouraged...it's part of the journey! Good luck to you!!

I'm somewhat cheffy. I'd rather buy the frozen paneer and marry into cheffy, like you.

I did not cut carbs. I eat rice, bread, tortillas, etc. Today, for example, I had a half of sandwich for lunch and a fish taco for dinner. I've lost 93 pounds so far!

I wear Crocs & sneakers with orthodics (?) in them. I love my Crocs & have several pair in several diff colors. I have 2 pair of dressy shoes for weddings/funerals. That's about it. It's no fun dressing up at nearly 300 lbs so didn't care anymore. Once I lose a decent amount of weight, I'm going shoe shopping! Can't wait to wear strappy heels!

Ground turkey or chicken or beef? I love the chicken burgers with carmelized onions from Sam's Club ~ I can't remember the brand name but they are delish! I'm not up to that stage yet as I just entered the pureed stage. :-( I even love those black bean burger patties from Costco! They're very tasty! Also, how about grilling veggies after marinating in low cal Italian dressing? I love grilled veggies, especially zucchini & red peppers with just a tiny drizzle of extra virgin olive oil. Hoping I can eat all that stuff soon! Especially before BBQ'ing season is over!

I'm so sorry. I can't even begin to imagine your pain. Just have faith that it was God's will & that He will bring you another one soon. Be sure that one day you will be reunited with your child as they are in heaven waiting for you when it's your turn to go there. Peace, love & healing be with you.

Pixie Dust got a reaction from shannonk1676 in Need some encouragment
I had the same fears as you only I'd be leaving behind an 11 y/o autistic son & an 18 y/o son & my wonderful husband. I bit the bullet & went ahead with the surgery & feel I made the best decision. The surgery itself was really nothing. I remember feeling worse after having my tonsils out at 5 or 6 y/o. I'm only 2 weeks out but have had a decent weight loss so far. I just hope it keeps on moving. The only regrets I have so far is that I didn't do it sooner. I wasted my youth being heavy & unable to participate in life so hope to make up for lost time. Go for it & don't look back sweetie! It's also very normal to be afraid & have doubts. I'm sure everyone goes thru it.

Pixie Dust reacted to mistysj in Cheesy Crab or Fish Cakes
1 large can crab meat (or tuna or salmon)
8 Arnotts Country cheese crackers, crushed finely (or other cheesy crackers. These are about twice the size of ritz, each)
    1 egg
8 grams each celery, zucchini, onion, chopped very fine (you could use other veggies)
    1/2 green onion, chopped fine
Drain the crab, retain the juice. Beat the egg. Add crab, veggies, and crackers. Mix well. If dry, add a drizzle of the juice from the crab. Ads a pinch of salt and pepper.
Heat a skillet and coat with oil. Form the cakes (I got 7) and fry, being careful they don't burn. Rest on a paper towel for a moment before serving.
A serving of 2 cakes has 9 grams Protein, 5 grams fat, 6 grams carbs, and 111 calories. If you substitute, you will need to adjust the nutrition info. Appropriate for soft foods and beyond.

Thank you for turning a negative into a positive! I'm only 2.5 weeks out & I already think I'm losing more hair than normal but I do have a ton so maybe it won't be noticeable. Even if it does thin out, I would still rather be healthier & be around longer for my children.

Are you on blood pressure or diabetes medication? If so you may need to cut back. Your doctor(s) would be able to give you a new dose.
