Hi I was banded in 2011 at 206lbs. Had my revison May 6th and I am now 139lbs. It has been 18 years since I weighed this little and I fit into a size 7 pants the other day! Awesome. Best part is diabetes is gone.

Took pickles to Cabo this week on vacation and totally worked. I also took my Syntrax lemon tea powder. Very proud I remained committed even while on vacation.

The surgery was fine, actually. Not painless, but I didn't experience much pain at all. I was off the pain meds by three days out and working from work at 9 days. (Don't tell my doc.) My knees don't even feel like the same joints I had two months ago, there's such a big difference. I have only needed to take Tylenol one time for knee pain since the surgery, and I had been a 6-Advil-A-Day habit. NO regrets.

First off, congrats on losing weight. That is awesome!
Second, you know that they are just using an expression. Just like when we said, "I'm so hungry, I could eat a horse", we really didn't mean we could eat a horse. It is merely our way of being dramatic to emphasize a point. Unfortunately, we sleevers find ourselves a bit sensitive to these weight-related expressions, especially in the immediate weeks to months post-op. It's a hormone-stored-in-fat-release thing.
Just remember that the person making the statement is really trying to pay you a compliment and does not have deep seated meanings behind using a general expression.

So twice today I have heard "wow! You have lost a ton of weight! You look great!"
Now I should be thankful for the you look great part. But I have not lost a ton. There may have been days where I felt like I weighed as much as a blue whale. But I have not lost 2,000lbs.
Why can't they just say a lot of weight? Why must the amount of weight lost be similar to that of an elephant?

anniemay reacted to Fiddleman in Peanut butter?
Peanut Butter is OK, but not really the best choice because peanuts are not really a nut. It is a legume and grows below ground. Nuts like walnuts, almonds, etc grow above ground. They have more Protein and have fats that are better for you. A better choice would be a nut butter like almond butter or cashew butter. You can usually find these in the natural section at a grocery store or you can make your own. Safeway has an area where you can grind the almonds or cashews and make a tub of nut butter to take home with you. Yummy on apples and bananas. Hope this helps.

I am afraid you are putting yourself into a box. You are trapped by your impossible standards. You want someone who wants you despite your attractive or unattractive body. The problem is this: you cannot get rid of your body without dying and you want someone without human nature.
Humans have eyes that serve them by helping them judge their surroundings. From the time we are born we use our eyes to avoid danger and find things that please us.
Men have sex drives. That drive is a part of who they are. When they look at a woman they are looking through the eyes of a sexual person. The more noble among us put that drive down the list of things that are important and allow love, affection, loyalty, kindness, and responsibility to take precedence.
You could find a man without a sex drive. Would you want such a man? Not if you have a sex drive. Or you could do what many women do, find a man that is a good enough actor who can convince you that their affection for you is purely spiritual and emotional. Such men are often laden with hidden motives.
When I desparage people for being superficial I train my critical gaze upon myself and review the many times that my eyes were mistaken about my judgement of people or rather my brain interpreted the information wrong.
Ask yourself: Do I look at men and not see their bodies? Do I size them up in a way I wouldn't want to be sized up?
I am not saying to quit looking for a guy that isn't a jerk. What I am saying is to allow yourself to be desired but not at the price of allowing your inner self to be overlooked. Find a guy who thinks with the head that sits on his shoulders, not the "other head." You want someone who can love you but allow that they do not have to be eunichs.
Edit: again I put a lot of time into a reply but failed to see where it was posted, in the ladies section. If you want this deleted do so or tell me to. Sorry.

I wear a huge officer belt with all the bells and whistles. Fully loaded its about 20lbs. It only has five notches and I felt cut in two on the second notch. Last month I was on notch three and feeling happy. The other day I put it on and it was feeling a little snug, not too much but not as loose as last week...before vacation. So two days of being frustrated and thinking I ate too much (which I did lol), I checked my belt... I'm on notch 4!! I don't weigh myself at all, so two HUGE belt notches down in 75 days!! I've been smiling all day ????

anniemay reacted to lsereno in Why maintenance is so hard...
I was never in the "I'll ever diet again camp". I was naturally thin into my early 30s, but I did watch what I ate. I cut back when the pants got too tight. And my naturally thin friends pace themselves. Sure, they eat crap occasionally. Occasionally is the operative word.
I've been in maintenance for 16 months. Yes, it's tiring to limit treats and somedays it's just much harder than others. But it's way easier than being more than 100 lbs over a healthy weight.
I worry that I will gain weight back. I think about food a lot. But I'm at goal and I'm pushing for 18 moths at goal, then two years at goal, etc. and I worry about transfer addiction, so I have a limit of 1-2 cocktails 1-2 times per week. That is working for me.
For me the hardest thing has been finding the balance of how much I can eat and still stay at goal. That still looks a bit like a teeter totter for me, up a little, down a little, repeat. I reset my bounce range to 133-137 to deal with that. I haven't went below 134 . I am doing a good job of staying between 135 and 136. But it's not because I'm not thinking about it.
My hope is that as the years go by it will come a little more naturally. Just like the craving for cigarettes slowly eased off as time went by.

anniemay reacted to mrs.petethecat in 7 Weeks Out....Very Good Day!
One of the reasons I decided to get WLS was because of the long list of medications I had to take. My health was getting worse and I was no longer interested in doing anything I used to like. Today I am 7 weeks out, 35 lbs lighter, and on a visit to my PCP she took me off 3 of my meds and reduced 1 more. I am going to go for blood work and then see her again in a month when we may discontinue more! I feel like I am getting back in control of my life and won't wonder how I am going to get through each and every day. Feeling excited and just wanted to share!

I'm all for a discussion on politics, not so sure about religion. However and despite my preferences, I would have thought neither of these are appropriate for this type of website.
However, nor is, as I have seen and seems fairly prevalent; is individuals dominating forums and engendering a 'them and us' mentality. That is tantamount to bullying - no matter how much alleged 'humour' is deployed as subterfuge or smiley faces to soften the sarcasm. Although it's a subtle and insidious form of bullying, it is still bullying nonetheless.
Just a point for consideration, Ed?
