TES reacted to endless80 in I can't seem to get used to NOT drinking with my meals!
I do not have my surgery yet but I find that I need to place my glass out of reaching distance. So when I do reach for it to take a drink it is a very concious effort.

I wanted to Also loose the "100lbs" in 4.5 months. But that didn't happened. I started out at a size 22/24 now I'm at a size 12/14. Yay
I'm rebooting this week trying to break the bad habits of slider foods.
Day 2 in the 5 day pouch test. Yay
Hoping to get to goal by 9- 10 months.

Dillard's is having a big bra sale this weekend--went and got a few yesterday to get me thru the next couple of months. The ones I had bought in May were two sizes too big.

What is worse....saggy boobs or morbid obesity? I will take my saggy slinkies any day of the week! Yes, it's a bummer that I need a size "long" in bra now but with a bra and clothes on, if I say so myself, I look pretty cute and I feel great!
So don't let a down side stop you from what could be a huge upgrade in your quality of health and quality of living!

wow, I may need to give LB another try. In the past when I've bought their bras (several years ago) I did not think that they were supportive enough. It sounds like they've improved them quite a bit.

Surgeon recommended drinking a few sips of Pickle Juice twice day to help with acid and "foamies". Weird but it totally works. I haven't had any nausea, no vomitting, and no need for meds other than my prilosec since I started drinking it.
Might be helpful to anyone who is struggling with acid or nausea or bloating after eating.
I can now drink all my liquid requirement and all the Protein requirement. This is huge for me since I have not been able to meet either since surgery June 28th. I'm feeling so much better.

Mine were always nightmares that I was eating something I shouldn't too soon after surgery. The worst one had me sitting in my hospital bed eating fried chicken and then frantically trying to hide it in my pillow case so my doctor wouldn't find it all the while trying to think of a good cover story to explain why fried chicken was showing up on my flouroscopy.

My surgery was on 2/4/13 and since then I have lost 76lbs and I feel wonderful. I am happier now than I have been in along time with myself. The only problem I have none of my clothes fit(which is a good thing). I was in a size 26 pants now I am in size 18 and they are getting loose!

TES reacted to Fiddleman in starting to get some arm muscle
The best part is I managed to maintain a weight at 175-180 for my 5'11" frame while at the same time leaning out and increasing muscle. It is a careful focus on nutritional balance of good fat, good carbs and high Protein daily. Additionally, i am constantly researching on how to optimize (results versus time / effort) in addition to consistent full body strength training 5 -6 days a week for an average of 1 hour a day including warm up, stretching, cool down and roller work. I do not have the patiance for working out longer then 20-30 minutes at a time,so try to make that count with the type of exercises and intensity / focus). Thanks everyone for your help along the way. It is a process, but is getting easier. Mark, Aroundhky, BTB, Tally, Maharet, and others who regularly contribute on the fitness thread are my role models in addition to long time vets ( do not mean to exclude anyone, but these folks are consistently answering my fitness and nutritional questions). Keep up the good fight everyone. It is so worth it!

Thanks everyone. Let me tell you it is a lot of consistent work in nutrition and strength training. Hopefully the next update in the future will be a whole upper body shot. My strength comes from functional body weight exercises (burpees, box jumps, hand stand push ups, regular push-ups, pull ups, planks, lunges, dips, hip raisers, etc) and compound lifts ( squats, dead lifts, cleans, bench presses, etc) at cross fit. No machines for me. Some dumbbell training at home, but mostly body weight exercises.

I've been waiting to hit onederland so I could post my scale pic! haha, well I did it! I'm so thrilled it is unbelievable! I seriously can't remember when I weighed this much, it's been at least 11 years! I beat my surgeons goal of weighing under 200lbs by 6 months post op! Im 5 and a half months post op! My highest weight:302 on January 11th of this year!! Pre-op weight was 296 on February 4th, and day of surgery (Feb 13th) I was 285lbs. I'm doing it friends and with all this losing comes a lot of gaining. I've gained a whole lot of positive self esteem and confidence. It hasn't been all sunshine and rainbows though, I've really begun to dig into the deeper parts of me and have done some self discovery. Still a work in progress and I'm happy to say I always will be. I'm content with where I'm at and I'm excited with where I'm going. Both in the physical and psychological sense. I'm a new me! Yay for me, I love me, I am awesome!

Today marked my 6 month anniversary, I am proud to say that I am 100 pounds lighter than when I started this journey! I feel amazing and I am looking forward to the challenge of getting those last 15 pounds off. This surgery gave me a new start in life and I am loving it! I have gone from a size 22 to a solid size 8 and sometimes a size 6, size 2XL scrubs to a size Medium. I love my sleeve! Thanks for all of the support everyone!

my daily goals are 800 calories a day,70 Protein,64 Water. So that gives me a deficit of 1,190 calories a day= 2.4 pounds lost a week. I never get all the Water and Protein in but I try my best . I also have been exercising for about a month now and try to go 3-5 days a week for 1 hour at the gym. I lost 90 pounds with no exercise. I firmly believe that food contributes to 60-75% of weight loss .So, with the exercise I lose about another 1 pound a week.I try to keep calories at 800. When I go above that I don't lose as much. Also eating high protein at every meal makes a big difference and has a great affect on how much I lose weekly. Stick to Greek yogurt, cottage cheese ,reduced fat cheese sticks, low fat milk, beef, turkey, chicken, shrimp, tuna fish, lentils,Beans , all fruits ,all vegetables and as little sweets and salty Snacks as possible. Use olive oil ,canola oil ,pam spray.I weight and measure almost everything I eat using a scale ,measuring spoons and cups. Something else to keep in mind is that every Body is different. Some lose slower than others. keep your eyes on the prize. It will come off eventually if you are following the rules. Congrats on the awesome loss! 80 pounds is equal to 320 sticks of butter
