  1. I just started softs this week. So far I've had yogurt, egg, refried beans and tofu.
  2. Well here is where I am. Over the last week or so I had been getting progressively weaker. As long as I was sitting or laying down I felt 100% fine. But if I stood up or tried to walk, I only had about 5 mins worth of effort in me. Annoying. After multiple doctor visits and lab draws, he put me in the ER yesterday and ran a bunch of tests. The culprit was that my potassium was low. They gave me some potassium and I feel decidedly better today, the weakness is still there but better. So I guess I need to go get some powerade or something with electrolytes in it. On the plus side, I got to start my soft foods this week! Started with some Greek yogurt to help with the diarrhea. Then I had some refried beans and cheese, supplemented with some unflavored protein powder. Delicious! Tonight I think it will be an egg and some cheese Down about 14 pounds since surgery.
  3. I take a Prilosec in the morning and Zantac for any breakthrough.
  4. I've posted quite a bit on what it takes. Just search for my posts and you can find them. DO NOT be surprised if you are denied the first time. They are VERY specific about what they want and how they want it. Search google for Cigna bariatric policy and it will tell you all you need to know. Good luck!
  5. From a medical perspective those incisions look great ! On the other side, ouch! Thanks for sharing! I think it's important people see what they are in for if they decide to do this
  6. Apple and the pineapple orange banana are probably my faves. I like them all but the blue one and I don't remember it's name.
  7. I love isopure. 40g of good whey protein. They are 20 oz, which sometimes is a bit much, but it's a good start to my day.
  8. Have you tried an Isopure rtd? I think they're delicious!
  9. I'm a June 25ther too. I am on Protein shakes plus Clear Liquids until Tuesday at which time I can include 1/4 cup of soft food. Can't wait! Just curious how much everyone has lost. I feel like I am slow. SW 212 today 201.7, so about 10 lbs.
  10. Sad thing is I saw this and was sad I could never enter.... I love hot dogs!
  11. I found the same problem post op. I am a nurse so I tend to medicate myself, but I found that a Zantac right before bed helps a lot. Prilosec in the morning and Zantac at night. Of course you should discuss with your doctor to determine the best course for you, but this works well for me. Good luck!
  12. I'm walking around my house doing normal stuff but nothing beyond that. I live in AZ and its been too stinking hot to venture outside the house! I did a load of laundry yesterday which a) wore me out and got me yelled at by hubby! Just take it easy! You need time to heal.
  13. Sleeved 6/25. Doing great, little to no pain. Liquids going down ok. Yesterday had a weird episode, felt faint and clammy, laid down then felt better. My doctor thinks it was a transient drop in my blood pressure. Still tired and weak, but am back to work and am happy happy so far. 9 pounds down since surgery.
  14. Drinking chocolate truffle with unsweetened almond milk now. Yum! I really like most all of them except the iced tea. Yuk.
  15. Oops I meant Nit picky!
  16. One week post op Breakfast: 1 bottle isopure Snack: 1 bottle water Lunch: premier protein chocolate Probably some broth and sf jello for dinner
  17. I am doing well with the pain. Very little. The largest incision in my belly button is the one that hurts the worst, but it's very manageable. The part I am struggling with most is being tired and weak. I finally showered this morning and that about did me in. I am down 6 pounds since date of surgery, drinking mostly clear liquids with protein. I tried one of my premier protein shakes yesterday and that started me down the diarrhea path, so I am sticking with the clear liquids again today.
  18. Well surgery went as planned, but that's where the fun started. First my white cell count went sky high (25k) and no one could figure out why. Then my red cell count (hemoglobin) started to go down (7.6) at the lowest. Threats of blood transfusions lingered, but I asked for repeat lab draws and fortunately it was above 8, which is the magical number for a blood transfusion. It got me an extra night in the hospital, so 3 nights rather than 2, but excellent nursing care and my surgeon called me from his vacation to check in. So happy to be home and sleeping in my own bed. Slept most all of yesterday and last night once I got home. Feel decidedly better today, but still weak. Protein drinks and liquids are going down fairly well, just some minor pain. I am still struggling mentally that this is actually done and I cant eat whatever I want anymore, but am happy with the scale results (down to 209.)
  19. I have had hiccups as well. Very painful. I had a hernia repair too. I figured it was just the spasms of the sore muscles. Better so far today. Slept for most of yesterday and all of last night. Still very tired though. Working on my liquids and protein.
  20. Made it home this afternoon. Fortunately I didn't require a blood transfusion. Keeping liquids and protein down ok. Minor tummy spasms. Positive thoughts to everyone this weekend. Sent from my iPad using VST
