This forum has helped me as i travel to become a sleever. It is very hard when those we love don't understand or support our decision. But we here offer all the support, acceptance, and virtual hugs u need.

WOW I am sorry that something like that happened before such a major milestone in your life where support is needed! BUT that could just be more "dead" weight you had to shed so that you can really fly lighter after your surgery. If he didn't recognize the jewel inside of you good riddance and let it be motivation to work that sleeve and get fine as hell!!! That is the best revenge living a good or even better life after they are gone honey.

I know exactly what you mean!! My husband moved/hid my scale, of course I found but have been freaking fixated on that damn scale too!! It is so stupid of me but I do. First thing every one asks is, "how much have you lost?" and I want an answer for them but gotta let it go. Good for you, being able to let that go!! I really wish I had been a little more of a closed book about the whole surgery thing. Told most people that I know and let me tell you, I work at a hospital, one of the freaking anesthesiologists thinks it's his place to tell my damn patients that I am on my way to skinny, explaining to them that I have had surgery and am now losing weight!! That really ticks me off!! Anyway, I am down and out today and came here for positive... Gotta get back positive!
    Happy weight loss!!

I had to leave my lap band open for almost all of the time I had it. (5 years) I kept getting mucus plugs and couldnt get even hot water into my body untill after 1pm. I just had revision surgery on the 28th of January and am happy to say that I have finaly found a weightloss tool that I think will work for me.Good luck to you my dear, lap bands dont work for everybody but if you have the means for revision surgery, I have researched it a great deal and it seems like I made the right decision.

Good luck to you! There are several people on here and in other forums who have switched to sleeve after their lapband fails. If you need some guidance you can search in the search engine for their group or for members with similar experiences! I hope you find the answers you need!

Congrats on your success and such a pain free recovery. At 6 weeks I am just getting back to my former levels of energy, so take it easy and don't over stress your system. I felt like warmed over death for the 1st week and in no mood to post to my blog.

Thanks for taking the time to type this out, your story could almost be mine, only it's been 9 days since my sleeve, but everything else, well I'm almost your twin lol
I'm going to try and go back to work on Monday, but my job is pretty light.
I do a few little jobs round the house each day, like make my husband a meal, or wash up, having a shower takes up most of my morning and I count that as a work out lol I'm pretty drained.
I drink about 30oz of water a day and 17oz of chocolate protein if I can manage it all, but it takes me about 7 hours to drink the shake lol
yesterday I had lost 22lbs, but I only stand on the scales every 3 days... I to think people expect me to turn up back at work looking like a fashion model, it's a lot of pressure for a woman struggling to get her bra on and get dressed lol
today I ate some baby jar food 2 tea spoons lol yum!
oops im going on sorry .

I totally understand you , I often feel the same as you .... My doctor had told me that I would not be able to tolorate chocolate and that if I ate it , I would learn to reget it( I tried it and I did not regret it ) , I have lost 42 lbs ,since my surgery on Nov 13 , 2012 . I guess when you hear 42 lbs , it sounds great and it is , but I would probably be losing faster if I drank more water , exercised and watch my snacking . I can tolorate more food and I am feeling guilty about it. I am also feeling hungry more often , so I carry around some diced peach fruit cups 60 cal , with no sugar added. I thought that I was not supposed to feel hungey , I thought that they had removed a part of the stomach that causes you to crave sweets ..... I still crave sweets sometimes . HOW CAN I PROGRAM MY MIND TO NOT WANT SWEETS , WHEN MY MIND REMEMBERS WHAT THEY TASTE LIKE?

If you have a wt loss support group in your area I recommed that you go. We have one local and it has a mix of peopel there.....sleevers, bypass, lap banders......we all have the same common goal and same frustrations and concerns....it DOES help to talk over you concerns.

    Hello,
I have read your post and know how you feel. I have tried every diet out there with no long term success. I have been thinking of weight loss surgery for the past 3 years and have had so many people tell me not to do it. I know they have my best interest but they are not me. I feel that I am in a prison with all this fat: I can not walk for very long, I do have sleep apnea for the past 2 years and I have to use a cpap machine at night for me to keep breathing. My knees hurt all the time, I get out of breathe too easily I could go on and on but I will stop. Like you have not told too many people, I just trust a few people with my upcoming surgery. I have only told those who need to know. To have this procedure you have to jump thru lots of hoops, lots of paperwork and running around and many phone calls. I have already gone to a meet and greet the surgeon meeting. Filled out lots of forms. I have blood work and chest x-ray the week of Feb 11th. I will start my pre-op liver detox on Feb 15th. I will follow this for 2 weeks before my surgery. I will have a 2nd visit with the surgeon on Feb 26th so all my forms and tests must be completed before that visit. I am so scared and excited at the same time. Reality is just starting to kick in that I am really doing this. I hope we can become friends going thru this process, I have a husband that is hard to talk to as well and I am not sure he is going to be a great support system for me. Going thru this we need a positive support system. We can help each other thru this chapter in our lives. Take care.

I'm thinking of you and I so know where you are coming from. I am still waiting to hear back about my insurance and the pre-ops. Oh, and by the way, do you pronounce your name Mee-uh or My-uh? My second name is Mia, pronounced Mee-uh. Just curious.
You will do fabulous! I get a lot of encouragment from so many people on here saying this was the best thing they ever did for themselves. That means a lot when you are contemplating something scary like WLS.
    Keep us posted!

Congratulations on starting your journey! I'm 8 weeks out today, and I can honestly say it's the best thing I've ever done for myself. I feel so much better already, and I still have a long way to go. It isn't always easy, but it's definitely worth it.
