  3. I can't wait to join you ladies also. I have only lost 5# since I started in Dec. Will be so glad to finally get a surgery date hopefully end of May early June

  6. Mine is exactly the same as Sandra. 6 months nut for 45 min or so, and dr. Supposed to be on 1200 calories, walking 5 days a week, but can only lose 10-12 lbs in the 6 mos. this is all to get the insurance approval. If I stuck exactly to 1200 cal every day and walked 5 days a week for 30 min, I would not need the surgery. I only have pre diabetes, no sleep apnea, or anything else and they don't want my BMI under 40. It seems like a game for the insurance company

  10. Fourth dr and nut visit today. Have lost 6#, and dr said that was great and to continue like i am BUT not to lose any more than 5 # or it will throw everything off, like my BMI. So I feel like I am on a tightrope. Lose, but only a tiny bit for now through end of May. Ugh!!

  13. Hi - my name is Debbie and I will be 63 in April hopping to get my sleeve in June. I am 234 today, high was 244 and am hoping to ge to 150 or so. Dr didn't think I would have any problems with the sleeve. That was the surgeon. Am on the 6 mo diet for insurance, mseeing the nut and need to schedule psyche eval. Guess I am nervous about that one. Can't wait to get approved and get a date. Then I will get nervous!

  19. Thanks from me too. Being new, I want to learn, but hate to hear about the bad experiences. This forum helps a lot, but I love reading the good stuff!

  21. Hi there and welcome. I am pretty new too. Always had a little weight problem. Lost 50# once, but gained it all back too. Did all the usual stuff - pills, diets, Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers, NutriSystem, and just can't make anything work for the long haul. I went to a seminar end of Oct, met with surgeon for consult Nov., started 6 mos diet and fitness with nut and dr for insurance.mi wondered about the diet, but figured they want to see if we can lose something. Hopefully I will get approved quickly and be able to have surgery by end of June. I read this blog pretty much every day just to learn. I always see something I didn't know before. I am in the Cleveland Oh area and would love to talk to someone from around here. Good luck on your journey and keep writing.

  25. Congrats. Keep it up and in no time you will be a new you! I still have 3 months to go with dr supervised diet and exercise - it seems so far off. But I am excited to have finally made this decision. Keep up the good work and post often
  26. That is fantastic. Good luck on your journey - keep going!!
  27. Thanks for all this info. I didn't know and I can't imagine not wanting food. A whole new experience. I am on dr supervised diet till beg of June and then I hope surgery will be scheduled. Thanks again
