wannabaloser reacted to artymama in Stomach Capacity after flu
I had some type of stomach bug ( no puking luckily) and after 2 days of just liquids, I tried some food. I was full after just a couple bites. Is this from not eating for 3 days? Anyone else have this happen to them? I am 6 months out from surgery.

Should I start exercising to reduce it? What exercises and other treatments do you use?

I got sleeved in Mexico 5 weeks ago. I am doing great. I have always been a fast healer and this surgery was no exception. The only issue I had was getting wore out extremely easy after moving around.
    I hsve lost 36 pounds.
The first 32 pounds came off in the first two weeks. I just dropped the other four after a 3 week stall.
I am very happy so far.

I started last month at 310 and I am only 5'3. I lost 32 pounds in the first 2 weeks after surgery.
You are definitely NOT to big for this surgery. I have seen people that weighed over 400 pounds have it and they are doing great.
You can have the surgery also and you will do great also!!

I can understand in a way.
My husband and I got together when we were teens. I never considered myself pretty but I had guys ask me out all the time. Some would do it in front of my husband.
I was young and dumb and would throw it in his face all the time and tell him I could get anyone I wanted so he better do what I wanted.
When I started looking into WLS he brought all that up and asked if I was goimg to leave as soon as I was curvy again and men were asking me out again.
Basically all I can do is tell him if I was going to leave I could have done it then or in the last 16 years. Being fat is not the only reason I am with him. I dont need a man to be happy and I don't have to be thin to have a man.
I told him I love him and that would never cross my mind.
You can only reassure him daily that you love him. Make him part of your weight loss. Eat healthy and exercise together. If he is too overweight ask him if he would like to get the surgery also so he doesn't feel left behind.
Show him how much you and the kids need him. Sometimes, at least for me, its easier to write everything down in a letter. That way you aren't embarrassed to say something plus you think of things you wouldn't have talking. Its also just your thoughts without anyone elses thoughts to derail you.
Maybe you can write him a heartfelt letter and tell him everything that is bothering you plus everything you love and need about him.
I hope some of this helps.

wannabaloser got a reaction from BLB in Kroger Perfect Fit Meals
For anyone trying to do a low carb/high Protein diet, whether pre or post op, these meals are heaven sent!
They are in the deli area and they have 20 to 30 different varieties.
They include chicken permasen, bbq chicken, beef fillet, pancakes, omelettes, fish tacos and lots more. They all include the main meat or Protein, veggies, and a side like potatoes, rice, or noodles.
They all vary in calories, carbs, and protein but most are about 400 calories, 20 carbs, and 40 protein.
They are about 10oz each so bariatric patients can eat one throughout the day.
They range from $5.50 to $8.00 each.
These meals taste great. I am still on liquids but my 14 year old daughter is on a low carb/high protein diet and buys them. I have tried each of them that she has ate and you would never know they are diet foods. She eats 2 a day and stays well under her calorie goal. She also doesn't feel deprived because she is having potatoes and noodles. If a 14 year old can stay on a diet using them, anyone can.
They are also awesome because it takes all the guess work out. Everything is measured out and calories, carbs, and protein is in big print on top. Also you have a great meal that takes 2 minutes to warm up.
You can go to myfitnesspal and search these and it will show you all the varieties and content they have.
Also, not all Krogers have these. I have been to 3 different ones and only 1 carried them. They are in black microwave trays. If you don't see them ask the deli. If they dont carry them maybe you can get them to carry them. It is so worth it.

I am setting here in Tijuana Mexico scared to death. What is wrong with me that I can't lose weight on my own?
    This seems just crazy!
I cannot believe it has come to the point of me flying (my biggest fear in life) to another country and letting them cut my stomach out (needles are my 2nd fear).
Why can I not just do this on my own?
This is honestly the scariest thing I have ever done.
On the other hand everything has gone great so far. Our plane was early, our driver was there waiting, he pointed out sites in San Diego snd Tijuana, and the hotel is great.
The only thing I would change is I wish I had taken a later flight. I landed at 10am, got to the hotel around 11, but check in time wasn't until 3. They were able to get us in a room a little after 1 though.
Of course the worst part was the only thing to do during that time was to go to the restaurant. My daughter enjoyed it while I starved and 2nd guessed myself.
Anyways, does this feeling of wanting to run home go away?

wannabaloser got a reaction from miss_cee85 in medicaid while married?!?!?!
    OP,
My husband was against the surgery at first as well. I think he would have been okay with it if his insurance would have covered it but they don't. His main issue was paying cash for it and going to Mexico. He just kept saying why not just watch my calories and things like that.
I told him I did not care how he felt and I was doing it.
I started reading everything I could find on the surgery and having it done in Mexico. I came across a thread on here titled, something to the effect of, WHAT WILL YOU NOT MISS AFTER SURGERY.
That thread has 100s of comments and lists things I had never even realized about myself. It lists things like not being able to tie your shoes or cross your legs, the chafing, the stares, your kids being embarrassed and so much more.
I sat my husband down one night next to me and showed him that thread. I made him read the entire thing. I told him that everyone of those comments were the reasons I had to have the surgery and could not wait any longer.
He has never questioned my decision again and he is supportive.
Maybe you can search for that thread and show it to him.
It will really put being overweight into perspective for him. It also states things that are hard and embarrassing to express.

Thank everyone for their help and kind words, from people who were kind. I did not ask for help meaning to start problems.
As a family we made a decision. I took EVERY opinion into consideration.
We decided for me to do the surgery first so I will be able to take care of Kaleigh when she has it. We are planning it for the Christmas Holidays. This will also give her time to see first hand what she will go through.
In the meantime, I signed her up for a very detailed, high dollar weight loss program.
It is customized to her needs. It is not a LA Weightloss type place where everyone gets the same diet plan.
They also believe in high Protein and low carb diets so she will already be used to the after surgery diet.
Shw will also get full lab work done including tests for diavetes, thyroid, cortisol, B12, cholestetol, and alot more stuff. She will be seeing a doctor so if there is something wrong they will help her fix it.
She will see a nutritionist weekly, she will get her metabolism tested weekly to make sure everything is working right, she will be getting b12 injections weekly, shw will be monitoring her diet on a website daily for her nutritionist, she will wear a monitor 24/7 that wil monitor her exercise and caloric intake constantly. There is alot more as well.
I paid half of what the surgery would cost for 3 months of this program.
I pray it works but we all know how diets work. I am not expecting miracles but at the very least it will help her adjust to what life will be after surgery.
So basically she is still scheduled for surgery but it is being put off for a few months. I believe she is mature enough to handle it. I hope this works and something that drastic doesn't happen but I am a realist about diets.
This is a very intense diet and if it does not work for her it just proves even more how much she needs surgery.
Thank everyone so much and I will let everyone know her progress as well as mine.
She is still my support person fof Mexico so she will have a seat front and center for that portion.
