  1. Down 2 lbs ???? SW 243 (3/11/ CW 180 Labor Day Goal: 165
  2. The pills were difficult for me- the scheduling and then crushing them. I also take Metformin. I split it and crushed it, poured I my mouth with a gulp of water and cringed, but i did I. The long lasting pills can't be crushed so I opened them and hen swallowed the little balls of medicine. My nutritionist would not ok swallowing pills whole until I was 6 wks out and eating solid food. It does get better, but right now that's not much help to you.
  3. Funny- when I was cleared for all foods, it never occurred to me that he meant cookies and ice cream. I thought he meant veggies and different types of protein. I want to be cleared for chips & dips. When does that happen? Ann
  4. Not everyone has Nausea, gas pains, blood clots, etc. when I had my surgery, I was sure something was going to go wrong, but nothing did. Trust your surgeon and his/her team. The Pre Op diet was the worst for me. Post Op I wasn't hungry and I really had no trouble- well getting my meds and vitamins in when I was crushing everything- that was a problem for 6 wks but otherwise, this has been a great adventure. I am 4-1/2 mos out and I still don't have hunger- mental hunger yes,but nothing like I had pre-op. Good Luck-- enjoy every moment toward a healthier you!
  5. Down 1 lb this week. Goal is 165 CW 182
  6. I have had 2 iepisodes of AFib. I was able to have a successful surgery and I hope the same for you. We complain about the time it takes to have these tests done - we want to get on with our surgery- but this very well may have saved your life. Everything happens for a reason!!

My granddaughter celebrates her half-birthday- so in 6 mos give yourself a party! It may not be a pig-out alcohol infused affair, but you are going to feel great and you will be much happier!
  8. Awesome- you look so happy!! Keep it up!!
  9. I am a March 11 slever- cant believe its almost 5 months. 5' tall SW 243 HW 259 CW 185 I was at 183 but now up 2 lbs and stalled for a week. I can probably eat most anything except steak. I get about 650 calories, 25-30 in carbs, and happy with my progress. I was a 3x top down to a 1X and a 24 bottom to a 16, sometimes a 14. My biggest obstacle continues to be eating too fast but I am improving. My biggest NSV - no hair loss so far!!! Ann
  10. You can do this!! It's okay to feel sorry for yourself but don't get talked into "just a little topping". Think about you and your goal.
  11. I am 66-sleeved in March. I have lost 75 lbs. I don't think I had extra hoops because of age.
  12. I have had a great experience with my RD at Henry Ford in Detroit. I am sorry everyone hs not had the benefit of having someone who is realistic and supportive. No, she is not and was never overweight but she has worked with enough WLS patients that she is empathetic but also tells us how it is without demeaning anyone. Jut wanted to inset a positive!
  13. WOW! You look awesome!!! Great job!
  14. Do you remember if there was a teacher everyone wanted because he/she was the easy one. No one wanted the one who gave a ton of homework, had surprise tests, or didn't grade on a curve. Same here- tell me I can do what I want, take the easy route, and still be successful. It's like the guy who speeds by in the lane that is going to end just to get 4 cars further than everyone else. I know I wouldn't (probably couldn't if i wanted to) eat a won ton (with or without meat) at 2 weeks but someone asks and then gets upset when told it wasn't a good idea. I Thanks to all of you who care enough to take a stand and take a beating along the way.
  15. Down 1 lb Cw 183 Goal- 165

  18. I am in 5' tall Surgery 3/11/13 SW 243 Today's weight- 184 Goal by Labor Day- 165
