  9. Your feelings are real and it is a scary proposition. But, you are lscared because you have done your research and you are aware of the complications that can occur. That's good - don't go into any surgery blind. You have picked a surgeon you trust. If that is not the case, step back. But if you trust the doctor and his staff, and the pros outweigh the cons, go forward to a healthier future. I am 6 months post surgery with a loss of 90 lbs including 17 pre op. I had no complications or even minor complaints. If you decide to wait, it's okay. You need to be in a positive frame of mind- but a little bit of fear is perfectly understandable. Good luck. Ann
  10. Last week 174 Today-173.5 Down 1/2 lb. Goal - 165
  11. This was great! People are funny. My husband died 4 years ago and until now, no one has really said much about me dating. I don't want to, I won't say never, but right now things are fine. BUT now, I am inundated with friends saying, "so I bet you are ready to date now that you are looking hot". A I am not looking hot, and B I could have dated anytime in the last 4 years if that's what I wanted. It's funny to look beneath what they are saying and get to what they are really thinking....but it's all good and just makes me laugh. This is a marvelous ride we are on! Any
  12. I have not posted any before and after, but here goes Surgery 3/11 - 243 Current Weight - 174
  13. My weight Today is 174 Lost 3 lbs!!! Goal: 165
  14. Thanks! That's very thoughtful!
  15. I am still trying to get to my Labor Day goal, but it should be doable this time. 9/12-177 Oct 31 goal- 165 12 lbs to go Ann
  16. Sleeved March 11 Highest wt- 259 Surgery wt- 243 6 mos out- 177 I am off Insulin, having sleep test on Monday but not optimistic on getting off C Pap yet, should be off BP next month. Feeling great, not getting enough exercise but am joining Curves I think. Ann
  17. I tried going to thrift stores but found it tedious- the one near me sorts by color not size so it takes a while to find things. I am now shopping for fall/winter. I can get into 14's but I don't want to buy too much- I am hoping to go down a couple more sizes. I am hoping it doesn't get cold soon- I don't want to buy a coat until I am at goal. It is fun though! I still start in the Woman's section and laugh at myself as I move to Misses. Juniors? Probably not but I would be ecstatic if I could fit into Petites. I am 5' tall, but not sure my body is going to get that small.
  18. I am 6 mos out and have seen so many posts related to a similar theme. I am frustrated, they say, because I can only eat a tiny portion, or 'when will I be able to eat more'? I did this surgery and all it entails praying that I would only eat a tiny bit and I never want to go back to where I was. Cook healthy meals that you can participate in, but enjoy the fact that you eat so much less, don't let your old habits get into your head. Move forward and enjoy all the positives coming your way!!
  19. Sleeved on March 11. 243 at surgery and now 176. 5' tall - went from size 22 pants to 14/16 and in an XL top. I had no complications other than soreness for a couple of days. The downside- none. I am now finding I can eat more and bread goes down pretty easily so I am cutting it now before it gets out of hand. I am 67 and would do it again. Many say their only regret is that they didn't do it sooner- for me this was the right time so I have no regrets at all. Ann
  20. Congratulations! You look amazing!
  21. Congratulations to everyone! If you made it to goal, it's great! But even if we didn't it is still an achievement! Lets keep going- Halloween??
