I just googled nabumatone. I have had this prescribed to me in the past under the brand name relafen for my RA. Apparently, this particular NSAID is less likely to cause GI side effects than other NSAIDs because it doesn't promote acid production. Sounds like it may be a good option for "sleevers." I will talk to my doc about this too.

I'm going to have a hiatal hernia repair at this same time as my sleeve, too. I believe they send you home with liquid (oral) pain medication such as tylenol with codeine.

He isn't gay, men just lose their sex drive. This isn't really about sex but I guess I want to feel some of that being desired feeling. It helped me to write it all out and reflect on it. There are some other things going on in life that I think made me over react to this situation. I am realizing I am upset about other things and I think I have let that emotional state cloud my perceptions...and worse dwell on this.
In fairness, I think the man I am dating was trying to express his fears and angst. He is deep inside a wary and untrusting person...very socially adept so you wouldn't guess it but, deep inside reserved about people. I didn't react negatively during the conversation and so he has no idea that I feel sorta "discounted".
Still not sure what I will do but I am putting this in perspective. I am not all that attached and I need to think how I will feel months down the road being with this kind of person.

I too had planned on the sleeve. I also have a huge hiatal hernia. My surgeon called me on my cell phone the other day. Explained the pros and cons of both. He really didn't want to do the sleeve, but said he would go by my wishes. After he called, I talked with my husband. I've decide to go with the bypass...I'm scheduled for the 24th. My ultimate goal is better health..my concern was also with dumping, but after thinking about gerd and if by chance my got that much worse, I didn't want to have to go thru another surgery

I have decided on the bypass too for the same reason. I am concerned about anemia and poor nutrition. I have chronic anemia now before the bypass, so I'm working to get my Iron levels up before surgery and resigning to future Vitamin supplementation.

I am very open about it. While I certainly respect anyone's need for privacy, and understand if there are negative people in someone's life, for me it is not something that I need to be ashamed of or worried about anyone's opinion of, and telling others about it can help encourage anyone who has been considering the surgery. Everyone I have told has been very positive and supportive. I am pretty fortunate to have friends, family, and coworkers who understand and who wish me well, I guess..

Just a follow up, as I was challenged to post my results when I wasn't a newbie anymore. All rocking!!!!

I just kept doing what I had been doing the whole time....64 oz Water MINIMUM; whole food vitamins; eat when I'm hungry (5-6 meals/snacks) and just until satisfied, not full. Protein first, but include veggies, fruit and whole grains for a healthy balanced diet. I have a 30-40g Protein smoothie with 10g Fiber everyday. Other than that I don't track calories, carbs, fat, etc. I've had Desserts, bread, pancakes, rice, chips, alcohol, etc., but always in moderation.
Actually, once I was within 10 pounds of goal I started adding in more grains, more fruit and more fat to try and slow my loss. I continued to lose and am now 7 pounds under my personal goal. Of course my goal was not as ambitious as yours....I was happy to be just in the normal BMI range.
I haven't lost anything in 2 weeks, so I'm kind of hoping I'm done. It would be nice to finally be able to buy some new clothes, rather than wear whatever I can find at the thrift store.

Hello, today I had my surgery and I must say overall I'm doing great. I pretty much been sleeping all day and did some walking. I just have the hick ups a lot which is causing some pain. Thank you all again for the support

Excited to announce that I have broken the 100lbs. lost mark. I have officially lost 101 lbs. as of today!!! I am 6 months out.

Can't believe I managed to lose 100 pounds so far. Gotta say though.....it's gettin tougher, slower and the stalls are getting longer. But with a hundred gone forever, I'll never give up or go back. Next milestone. ........goal.

Best thing to do would be to see your surgeon ... but, soft is probably a hernia and hard might be a reaction to sutures. Or, it could be neither of those, and that's why it would be best to see a doctor

Tomorrow will be 1 year. Loving the new me I started off with weight watchers @ 266. The Bariatric center started me out @ 245. I am down 122 pounds. I am now 144 pounds I have 10 more pounds 2 go but I am so happy.LIFE IS FUN AGAIN !!!!!!!!!!

I'm continuing to keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

My last appointment will be October 12 th. Hopefully, I have an approval shortly after that! I am planning for a November surgery. I am sick of being fat! The wait can't end soon enough! I have 3 more classes to go!
