  3. It sure seems like a lot of food to be able to eat at 2 months out. What sounds alarming to me is that you were able to eat a whole taco in 5 minutes.
  4. I'm 24 and 10 weeks post op. Its been difficult for me school wise, I was sleeved 11 days before the semester started and thought I'd be ready in time to start school but I soon realized that going full time was emotionally and physically draining so I ended up dropping most of my classes. You need to take time to focus on you, if you can. Going out can be a pain because eating is virtually impossible and drinking is not allowed for awhile and that's kind of a bummer. The good thing is we have the rest of our lives ahead of us and can make the most of our 20s :-)
  5. I'm 10 weeks post op a eat spicy food almost on a daily basis..haven't tried hot wings, yet lol. I'd say take it slow.
  6. I suffer from lower back pain due to a central disc herniation and brought up the topic of NSAIDS at my last appointment. My surgeon said no. Told me to take Tylenol but that's ineffective for my pain so he suggested I take the liquid pain meds he gave me after surgery. I asked my regular doctor yesterday if there are any other alternatives besides lortab and she prescribed Ultram(also known as Tramadol). I haven't tried it yet but am hoping it works. Good luck to you, hope you find some relief for your pain.
  7. Yours is a little different than mine. I don't get hungry until 2pm. At my last appointment I told my surgeon and he said I have to eat in the mornings whether I like it or not. I think you should perhaps try eating light things throughout the day such as string cheese, soups, yogurt, etc. I would definitely recommend speaking to your surgeon about this because your situation does sound odd. Good luck, hope things get better for you.
  8. Surgery 1/11. 20 pounds pre-op. 37 pounds post-op.
  9. What phase of the diet are you on? Best thing to do is keep yourself busy. It's tough but you CAN overcome this.
  10. That's something I discussed with my surgeon today since I'm chronically dehydrated. He said to sip all day and always keep a bottle of water with me. I asked if I could use a straw and he said if I think it will help then to go for it.
  11. I bought myself some Ray Ban glasses for loosing my first 30 pounds.
  12. Not in jello but I've used isopure unflavored powder with soups and I also mix it with crystal light when I add it to water. But I'll try your suggestion, thanks :-)
  13. So today I had my second post-op appointment. I'm down 34 pounds since surgery plus the 20 pounds I lost pre-op. Unfortunately I have been chronically dehydrated for a few weeks now due to what initially was thought to be a stricture but turns out was just my sleeve being swollen. My surgeon said my main focus right now needs to be increasing my liquid and protein intake. I'm only able to get in 32 oz of water and about 20 grams of protein. Protein shakes, shots, and isopure don't sit well with me..if anyone has suggestions about how to get the necessary amount of protein in, I would appreciate it :-)
  14. I confess that at I drink soda occasionally. I confess I am not even close to mastering the art of eating slow, therefore every time I eat it feels like I'm swallowing a knife :-( I confess that given the limited small portions I can consume, I would just rather not eat.
  15. I went with South Bay Surgeons, specifically Dr. Solomon. He had removed my gallbladder 3 years prior so I stuck with him to do my gastric sleeve this year. He's a great surgeon. Go with what you feel is best for you
  16. Congratulations on the weight loss! :-) I hope you get hydrated soon!
  17. I saw him that same day before he sent me off to the GI specialist and he said I would have to be dilated. His office called me yesterday to see how I was doing, I told them I was pretty much the same. The receptionist said she'd tell my surgeon and if they needed any more info then they'd call me back.
  18. Nope. I'm going to my regular doctor tomorrow to talk to her about this. I'm extremely worried of about being dehydrated again and the potential consequences. ,
  19. GI specialist took a look with the camera last week but wouldn't stretch out the area because she said since my surgery was done recently(1/11) she didn't want to risk damaging the sutures. So I'm left in limbo basically :-(
  20. That is a great motivator lol. I envy you...I've got a stricture so that makes staying hydrated a mission impossible.
  21. VSGKirk...how are you able to drink a 16.9 oz bottle in 90 minutes? Please share your secret. It takes me almost the entire day to finish a bottle of water.
  22. This thread has me on pins and needles. On Wednesday it was discovered while I was in the OR for an upper GI that I was dehydrated, it took forever to find my veins to get the IV going. They gave me two bags of IV fluids then sent me home...ever since then I've been able to manage 16.9 ounces of water a day at most(i have a stricture which makes it difficult to drink the necessary amount). Should I be concerned?
  23. I'm not experienced when it comes to drugs BUT doesn't weed give you the munchies? So munchies cause you to eat everything in sight and that basically defeats the whole purpose of weight loss surgery. Just sayin'. As far as cocaine...I'll just pretend like that wasn't brought up, because its mind blowing anyone would think about something like that.
