    Challenges and Advice?

Biggest challenge, even four months out, is water. Both not drinking before and after meals, and getting enough throughout the day.

    Restaurants and gastric sleeve card

You can print them from the internet. Restaurants do not have to honor them, it just explains you have had weight loss surgery and ask if them to please let you order from the child menu. It also tells everyone you had the surgery, so no privacy if that's important to you. I never got a card, and have found that if I explain I recently had surgery, they let me get whatever I want. No need to explain the type of surgery (although I usually do).

    Thirsty @day 10

I agree with Andi. I had trouble too but not as much when it was room temp.

    hunger pains

My surgeon recommended three meals of 2-4 ounces and one protein shake a day. Absolutely no snacking in between.
  5. The only thing that goes down well for me is room temp water. Everything else i have to take tiny sips. I was sleeved March 8 2013. My surgeon says its normal but will eventually fade away.
  6. Mine was for three days. Didn't feel anything at all when it was removed and no hanged in discomfort level after it was removed.

    When will the fatigue subside?

took about 6 weeks for me. Sometimes I still wake up tired though. Try the sublingual b12. Its helps.

    Pizza cheat!

Both the cauliflower crust and pork rind crusts are good.. I personally use pork rind crust. Just google pork rind pizza crust. no carbs and everyone in my family loves it. It does not taste like pork rinds (which I cant stand). Tastes just like pizza crust.

    Gastric Sleeve vs Gastric Bypass

I personally went with the sleeve because it has fewer complications and side effects. Long term the weight loss is about the same as bypass, even though initially it is a bit slower. I haven't regretted my decision once.

    Weak

I was two weeks out before I could take a shower and do my makeup without resting. Good thing I have a desk job or I would never have been able to go back to work after one week.

Is it weird that I am scared of losing weight

I have the same worry. Being overweight has been a huge part of who I am for over 20 years. The good news is im not losing very fast, so I have time to adjust to it.

    Questions

I only had to do the two day clear liquid for surgery prep. None for weightloss.
  15. Don't want to scare you, but my three week stall lasted a month and a half. One day I got on the scale and was down 4 pounds over night. I did nothing but keeps to my diet (protein, protein, and more protein.) I still cant figure out how someone who is 250 pounds, works two jobs, and eats less than 100 calories a day didn't lose weight. As I said, haven't changed anything, my body just finally caught on.

    Question about pain

Yep. Normal. My pain didn't start to subside until halfway through the second week. It helped to have an abdominal binder. If the hospital didn't give you one, def get one.

    Weird question - large bruise

I had the dent, and it disappeared about month 2. Also had the pulling, and was told it was scar tissue forming. Lasted less than two weeks. The bruising is from the blood thinners. Takes them awhile to completely leave your system. Yiou could have bumped the edge of the sink and not eve noticed.

    ahhhhh

not according to my surgeon. I couldn't have any until three months out.
  19. sliders are foods that go down easy but aren't good for you. mashed taters, ice cream, etc.Called sliders cause they slide right through without problems.

    Skin

Me too. My surgeon says the arm flab willbe the worst, and takes longer to "bounce back". And, no, he says it will never be completely gone without surgery.

    Crackers?

No such thing But I once in a while eat the whole wheat saltines with a smear of PB. Its the lowest carb i could find.

    Liar Liar?!?

I would be honest and still do the testimonial. Surgery alone does not get the kind of results you are getting. They may welcome that type of testimonial rather than the usual.

    Gummy vitamins post-op

The reason behind no gummies is that they move through the system to fast for any vitamin to be absorbed. I cant stand the chewables either. I struggle with vitamins daily and im almost three months out.

    Traveling when sleeved

The liquid stage is easy Order soups and only eat the broth. You can even ask for just the broth. softs food the same. For me, baked fish was the best when eating out. After that its all easy. I travel often also, and have had no problems. I usually order form the app menu now.
