I have made it through the first step!! I have talked to the dietitian and asked about the pre-op diet. I have read so many people's stories and the one consistent aspect was a 2 week liquid diet...I was told they didn't want me on a liquid diet before surgery. Has anyone else heard of this?

gotta admit i never heard of anyone specifying NO you shouldn't do a liquid pre-op

in my case, doc said i didn't "have" to do a pre-op diet - but it wasn't an order!!!!

My doctor has all his patients on either a two week or four week (depending on BMI) very low calorie, high protein, low carb diet - but it is NOT a liquid diet.

I only had to do the two day clear liquid for surgery prep. None for weightloss.

I didn't have a pre-op diet, just liquids the day before & nothing after midnight! I did great!

I didn't have to do a liquid diet either but I am going to start one Monday...I hope

Yes I dont have to do a liquid diet... I have to do a low carb diet for 10 days..
