  7. I dont wash it out with saline Water... I put the saline water into the bottle of gauze and then once the strip cut my husband adds hydro gel to it then packs my wound. the wound specialist said that washing it out will get my own body bactieria in there and make it worse. Well either way I am seeing her next week and I think I will take her up on the offer on sending me to the wound clinic at the hospital.
  8. Oh no, Penni! I will keep your friend in my prayers. Please keep us posted on how she is doing. and you take care, I will keep you in my prayers as well.

Kat, good luck with it. I think you are really going to enjoy it. I know I do and I dont know how to do much! lol
  10. The inside is healing as well.. but it seems to be healing in a V shape on the inside... I am only maybe putting in 3 - 3 1/2 inches of gauze. It is the thin "packing" sterile in a bottle gauze. before I was putting in 5-6 inches of the same stuff. I am packing it once a day and seeing the wound specialist once a week. I am not going to see her this week but I will see her on the 22nd. I wouldnt think the outside will close up because the packing is in the way. Hmmm let see what happens I might ask to see the Dr. at the wound clinic.
  11. Sounds like you are on the right track to success. And your banded buddies sound like they know what they are talking about!
  12. Welcome to LBT, and congrats on your Lap Band surgery. I personally do not know of anyone who got the LB over the bypass, but I have heard of it being done. Maybe someone on here knows more about it.
  13. wow very touching, thanks for sharing
  14. Like Vines said everyone goes through "is this the right thing?" But you know only YOU can make that choice. I am one of the "infection" people and I will tell you I would still get the band knowing what I know now, in fact I am getting my band replaced... so that shows YES I would do it again. There are so many people that have the band.. if you look at the big picture there are only a small handful of people that have problems. and A lot of them are getting rebanded. But like I said before It is YOUR choice. About your Dr. maybe they just dont really know what to do until you can actually go in and see him, maybe they will be more intrested when your actually a paitent. Or someone there could of been having a bad day. I dont know... just throwing ideas out. Good luck with everything!

I watch that show Knitty Gritty... but dang that some hard stuff for me, and they so fast I cant even see what they are doing, plus I dont know all the knitting lingo yet. I also bought be a beginners crochet book its a really small sone and shows you 30 diffrent stitches... I cant wait to get started on that.
  16. Yeah mine is healing up a bit... I am not in much pain. Here are my before and afters,
  17. Penni... remember the pictures I showed you before... It looks 100% better then that. That picture above looks bad because we have not cleaned it yet.. there is a lot blood around there... I will email you what the hole looks like cleaned. and I will email the old one too so you can compare it. But you know I do feel pretty good about it, I am just fustrated with the long time.... its hasnt been that long but ugh!! you know?..... I will email you now..
  18. Yeah thats what my Dr says too. But sometimes it just freaks me out seeing it that green... and its a pretty green LOL the hole is still deep and it seems like its taking forever to heal. I cant wait so i can get my new band!
  19. I am seeing a Wound Specialist once a week... She knows about the green color and says it is a good sign. She called it Filiment or something I am not sure. It has no odor.
  20. You want to see gross? BEWARE!!!!! This is with the old packing still in... from yesterday..... But its still green very green.... I guess thats good.
  21. Picture might be gross to some.. look at your own risk!!! I dont think it is that gross it is just showing the Green color of the gauze.
  22. Welcome to LBT! It will be nice to have a bariatric Dr. to help answer questions. Nice to meet you too!
  23. Okay you all know about how my port was infected and I had to have it taken out and now I am packing the wound everyday. Well the gauze that I put over the wound after it is packed to cover it up / hide it. is GREEN it has a red ring around it and the middle is green. like a blue green. its actually a pretty color LOL Anyway my wound Dr. said green is good. but it just seems weird.... Heck I should post a picture. Anyway just seems weird.
  24. I posted this link a month ago or so... I ordered mine then but it has not arrived yet. Good cause too!
