I live in New Orleans as well. I am four months out and enjoy local foods such as gumbo, boiled shrimp, and fresh fish. Interestingly enough, your tastes change after VSG surgery and you crave lean protein.

Sue, is everyday a struggle?? Hard to eat/choose wisely?? Tired of dealing hunger?? Well, guess what...the sleeve cures all of this!! Yes, I struggled with feeling like a failure (couldn't do it on my own without surgery), but when success follows the procedure, all those feelings diminish. What you are feeling is completely normal, don't judge yourself so harshly.
