Clear/Color Water
I don't know why but ever since my surgery I can not drink plain Water. I used to drink a lot of it before but now it feels like it's harder to swallow. I drink lot's of other things as long as they are calorie and caffeine free it should be okay.

It gets better. I remember after the second month I felt much better.

Got told by a coworker today that I'm taking the "easy way"
You'll hear that "easy way out" bull a lot. Don't let it bother you. Focus on how wonderful your life will be. Focus on all the things you will be able to do that you can't do now. It's like a rebirth of the person who has been lost in so many ways for so long (I'm talking about me now) Oh and guess what, the closer you get to goal...the less anything negative will bother you!! You don't care because you are just too damn happy & healthy!

Any GERD sufferers who were still able to get their sleeve done?
GERD was one of the reason I wanted the surgery. I take Omeprazole every morning and I feel great. If I forget to take it I suffer.

Fruit problems?
I have the same problem. Can eat very little fruit, mostly berries. I am almost 2 years out and I just started adding vegetables and salad back to my diet (but very small amounts)

Member Poll: What Gets You Back on Track?
My first step is to start weighing myself daily again. That seems to work best for me. The next step is to come back to Bariatric Pal and become more active on the site. I usually just read but I will start posting (something that is not easy for me). Next will be get my food and Water on track. and last but not least get my exercise in every day (something, anything, just move) I really didn't think I would be back at the beginning again but here I am. The difference this time is that I know I can do it.

Did your shoe size change after weight loss surgery?
I think I noticed it after about 8 months. I went from a 9 1/2 to an 8 - 81/2 depending on brand. It makes sense, you lose the Water, swelling and fat.

Share your Costco staples!
Their fruit (blueberries, strawberries especially) seems to last twice a long as the supermarket'sInstant coffeeYogurt (before I became lactose intolerant) Tyson chicken tenders

“The Biggest Loser:” Irresponsible Weight Loss Surgery Comments?
You have to grow a few layers of thick skin when you are an obese person. It comes in handy when you have weight loss surgery too. The prejudice and abuse that people seem to think is perfectly normal to hurl at the obese doesn't go away.

When you dream...Do you dream big or small?
When I am in my dream ( which is not often) I am thin. In real life, I have a hard time seeing myself smaller. I look in the mirror and I'm still large but I think I never realized just how large I actually was. Before and after pictures are a huge help to get things in perspective. I have to try on clothes before I buy because I just can't tell by looking at something if it will fit. Everything looks too small. Also, my body does not seem to be losing evenly so it's kind of strange how things fit.

Did you get the exemption information in writing? You can call 5 times and get 5 different answers There should be health care advocates available to help you With my insurance the advocate information is listed on the back of the EOB (explanation of benefits they send you file a claim)

I stop losing wieght
Every time I've hit a stall I would get so frustrated but that was always the time people would ask if I lost weight. It just happened again the other day. At least six people in one day ( was a little weird) The scale was not moving but I had lost inches and my clothes were getting too big! So, don't be discouraged. The sleeve is working even if the numbers on the aren't reflecting that right now.

frustrated at 9 months...need motivation
My depression and anxiety got worse too I found a psychiatrist that takes my insurance and was able to get some help and adjust my medication . Some medications (I'm not suggesting that you stop taking your meds) can make you constantly want to eat. There are many doctors that work on a sliding scale (they charge depending on your income). Try checking different hospitals, they may be able to get you some free help . The fact that you are writing about it means you are ready for help. That's a great start. Best of luck to you.

Sneezing
I would get hiccups when I was full. Now I get hiccups and a runny nose. Those are my signals to stop eating.

Dating post-op..does it get easier?
- Insomnia!
Nice to know I have company! I've been waking up anywhere between 2:00 - 4:00 am every day for the past four years. I slept all night for the first week post op and then back to being up 2:00 - 4:00 am! It's strange how it's around the same time every night . I'm so tired!- GERD - Indigestion, Reflux, Lumps in Throat/Chest. Exposition of Symptoms and Treatment.
