Perhaps we can take just a minute and examine your expectations - your perspective if you will. You've lost 55 lbs in 18 weeks. An average of three pounds a week. You're currently at 223 lbs and your goal is 165 lbs. So you have 58 lbs to goal. So if you maintain an average loss of three lbs per week, you will be at your goal weight in 19 weeks. So let's fast forward 19 weeks.
Starting weight 278 lbs. "Current" weight 165 lbs. Weight lost = 113 lbs. In 37 weeks. In just over nine months, you've changed almost every aspect of your health and your life.
Slow weight loss? I'm thinking spectacular! You are half way to your goal in 18 weeks! Discouraged? I'm thinking ecstatic! Problem? What problem?
Stay positive, stay patient, continue to follow your plan regardless of what your weight is doing. Stop second guessing. Trust the process. Allow your body to find its own way in its own time. Do those things and the weight will take care of itself.
You are doing GREAT! Celebrate your success every day! You're gonna love the new you!!

Well my friend you have lost a good amount of weight. My highest weight was 330 lbs and now 280. I am going to start bringing carrots and spinach hopefully that will help.

I work overnights as well. I completely understand what you are feeling. Not sure why it seems this way but I have the same issue. I'm a year out now Dec. 28 2012 and I think working overnights has hindered my progress with weight loss. I try to like boiled eggs or drink a Protein shake. I get hungry like every 2 to 3hrs and it scares me! My highest weight was 389 before surgery 353 now I'm 290. So you are way ahead of me! But I believe it's because I work overnights of my slower progress.

Unfortunately, not really. For example I can eat more chicken during this time! Not a ton more, but maybe an ounce and a half sometimes. Crazy! And I'm hungrier much sooner.

Anyone else?? I am pms'ing, and I swear the capacity of my sleeve is sooo much more and so are my cravings. I understand the cravings, but not the restriction part. Can this be explained? I'm going to go munch on a pickle now since I have already hit my calorie limit for the day. Argh!

2 years out here. I feel hunger but it is not even close to the overwhelming compulsion I had before the sleeve.
    I can easily defeat it.

I had a really hard time seeing my weight loss too. When I would pick up clothes to put on I couldn't believe that they were mine. I would find myself going to the stores to buy clothes and automatically going to the plus size section. Even now, at almost two years out I still find myself putting my clothes in my oldest daughters piles because they don't seem like they could possibly fit me. It does get easier...but I think I will always have a mind set that I am a bigger girl. I am able to finally see the loss in the mirror...but when I see my shadow I still can't believe it belongs to me. It is also very hard to accept compliments about my weight loss, or how I look. I have learned just to say thank you finally...and not say things like...haha yeah right...and such. We are all a work in progress. Good luck girl....you look fabulous by the way

also juice plus is a great I use it and my children to do! They actually get it free for 4 years. www.haveyoutriedjuiceplus.com it bridges the gap so you get the amount of servings of veggies and fruit that we will never get having the sleeve! Read up on it!!! Next best thing to fruit and veggies!!! They also have a great complete shake!!!

One thing I noticed when I kick up my exercise is that I am much hungrier and have to be very careful about what I eat and make sure I get plenty of Water. If you haven't upped your water, then make sure you do or your body won't be able to flush everything out. Good for you on getting in all of the exercise. I started a pretty vigorous routine recently as well and it feels awesome.

yes, this is normal. your body is probably in shock. give it a week and i'm sure you'll start seeing loss again. also adjust your diet a little bit. when we become predictable in our diet and exercise the body gets "bored" and sometimes needs to be caught off guard. also muscle weighs more than fat so...that could also be the cause of the weight gain. but to be honest, your weight can fluctuate 2-3 lbs daily depending on certain factors. i wouldn't be too concerned. good luck and keep up the good work! your efforts will certainly pay off in a big way!

I weighed this morning and I have officially lost 100lbs!!! Unbelievable! I still have 85lbs to go for goal and 50 to make it to Onderland! I do feel like the next 50-85 is just gravy! I'm so happy and can't even explain how much my life, my attitude, everything has changed. I LOVE myself again! I wasn't sure I'd ever get back to being happy with myself, because I was so disappointed in how far gone I had gotten. This is 100% the best thing I ever did for myself, my kids, my friends, my family, my job, MY LIFE!!!!
Great start to the beginning of the best year ever! Here I come 2013 and beyond!
I've posted some befores and 2 pics taken today (after my walk at the beach trail)....I'm Loving Life!

I am such a slow loser - I am 3 months out too (October 3rd) and only down 40 pounds. Now, I have worked DAMN hard for every one of those 40 pounds but sure wish it was more! I continue to truck along doing what I am supposed to be doing and watch the weight slowly but surely fall off.
I love my sleeve! I know I could have never lost this much weight without it.

I did it! Made my mini goal weight of 207 my most recent lowest weight - 2 years ago on Jenny Craig! I started JC in Feb. 2010 at 272. 10 months later Dec 2010, my lowest weigh-in was 207 lbs.I was working out (walking and videos) 5-6X week, plus I spent an average of $400/month on JC food! So excited to get back to where I should never have left-I worked so hard to get there only to plateau, stop going to get weighed (and I was getting sick of the food) and poof- weighed 278 this past summer. I'm working hard now, but it's different. Maybe it's the hunger factor, I just don't think of food the same way as I did before. I can't wait until next month...I've ordered my one way ticket to onederland!

I am 3 weeks out today and just started being able to do plain Water and even now it cannot be cold (which I loved ice water before). It literally felt like lead rolling down into my belly, room temp water does go down easier though. I added Protein nectar to my water and even that made it go down easier. It gets better every single day, so don't get to worried that it's going to be like this forever!

Thank you! I love plain Water and tried to drink a Protein Shake. Sipping tiny amounts at a time. I sure hope the cramping goes away though. I'm guessing its because my sleeve maybe bring swollen a bit from surgery? Thank you for your advice!
