You are so right, it's certainly my fear! I've been worried about how much I can hold, too. Like you, I don't really push it, but I've discovered I can hold more of certain things, and yogurt is one of them. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised though, when I eat just dense Protein like chicken breast, I really am full at 3 oz, and would be too full at 4 oz. I'm learning that some days I can eat more than others, some days I'm hungrier than others, and what I'm eating really does impact the amount of food I can hold. We all know the rules and probably follow them, but I feel like I'm finding my way in the dark sometimes. I'm learning there is not a one size fits all approach to managing weight loss post sleeve.
I also think my body is going to do what it is going to do. I do follow the rules, count every calorie, exercise plenty....so when the scale does not reflect that hard work, I am disappointed, but I just think time will tell.

starting weight (8 mth journey) 327
day of surgery (post 2 wk liquid diet) 304.5
    day's weight (home scale) 272
if I count from my heaviest weight, I've lost 103 lbs...

If I start from day of surgery, I've lost 32.5
I go for my 3 mth check up next week... we shall see what the official scale says...I have resolved that I am a slow loser... but I'm grateful for the loss...
(ticker may be wrong... I haven't been on the site in a while and haven't adjusted it...)

Well I get my calories low on purpose. My doctor said 200-250 per meal 4 meals daily but an average day for me
B 2 egg whites slice of deli ham 1/2 100% whole wheat toast dry
L 2 slices deli meat 7 cubed cheese (low fat really good already cubed)
    S tuna creation package
D 3 oz fish and 1oz veg usually broccoli or Brussels sprouts

If I'm in a rush I can drink my 12oz Protein shake in a matter of 10-15 minutes. My guidelines specified that liquids /protein shakes will NOT stretch sleeves but I've often wondered if he left mine a little too big....
Solid Protein is different....If I push it I can probably eat 3-4oz but that would make me uncomfortable... I'm usually at my limit with dense protein at about 2 - 3oz... Ground beef and fish are the easiest for me. chicken a little harder and I find pork uncomfortable with just a few bites..

    Surgery 12/21
    Day of Surgery: 271
    Current Weight: 239
    -32 lbs
Trying not to be disappointed and frustrated because I am behind most people in stats. But hey, 32 lbs is 32 lbs right? As long as I keep losing I feel ok. My fear is that I will STOP losing...

I have been struggling to get to onderland for 4 weeks with a stall, yesterday morning it finally happened! I haven't been under 200 for 30 years - wow, I am still amazed with this sleeve! No hunger, no sugar cravings, just amazing! I want to shout about this surgery to anyone who is interested! I also just got into misses 14 pants for the first time that I ever remember. Last spring when I started the pre-op process I was wearing womens plus size 22. I will be posting pics in the next day or two - I finally want to post pics, LOL!

Hey! So I came up with this with the help of my mom. I'm sure there are probably other people who thought of it before, but I wanted to share just in case there wasn't!
I took lean ground angus beef (I looked for bison - which would be better because it has less fat, but couldn't find any) and put it on top of multigrain tostitos and cheese on top of that, then I broiled it for a minute in my toaster oven and dipped those chips into fat free Greek yogurt in place of sour cream (it tastes exactly the same!!!)
It's a great way to get Greek yogurt in which is high Protein and absolutely delicious alternative to real nachos. I had to make it tonight because I was craving nachos like no tomorrow!
I attached a picture! I hope others try it and love it as much as I do! Oh! And I know it looks like a lot in the picture - don't worry I didn't eat it all! I could only fit in 3-4 chips and the rest I'm saving for lunch even then I probably won't finish! And I even used a small side plate! :S

My name is Cheryl and I was sleeved a little over a year ago. At the start of my journey I weighed 542 pounds. Now I'm excited to say that I only tip the scales at 330 lbs. Needless to say, life has been somewhat of an adventure over the last year or so. I have been amazed at the doors opened to me. Everything has changed that's for sure! I no longer have to sit on the side lines of life, for once I actually get to play in the game. Not really sure what else to say. I've never been on one of these before. So...I guess I'm just hoping to make some new friends that can understand what life is like following WLS.
Got one question. Just curious, has any of you lost weight just to find that you've lost friends too. I've been kicked out of the "fat chick club." I just don't get it. I'm still fat! Fatter than most of them. I'm still the same person, just a more positive outlook on life.

Did your doc give you a post op eating plan? By 2 months out I was ok'd to resume full foods, but with the stipulation that I add one new food at a time to make sure I could tolerate it. And if I had problems I should back up to soft foods for a while. I had no problems with anything, but your mileage may vary. As for fruit, I love fruit and eat some every day if I can, but I limit the quantities because its high sugar content will raise my blood insulin levels, which will reduce my body's ability to burn fat.

I spray a little Pam in a non stick pan, break open the egg and scramble/fry it in the pan. I don't like any soft or runny white so I make sure that part is well done. Very easy to do and goes down easily for me.

A fried egg versus a poached egg... fried egg only has 20 additional calories. eggs don't really absorb oil unless it's from an omelet or scrambled eggs. If you absolutely adore a fried egg there is no reason not to have one occasionally, but only when your tummy is ready for it. People see a lot of grease in a pan to fry an egg and get all freaked out.. The VAST majority of the grease stays in the pan... and if you transfer your egg to a paper towel after cooking you lose even more of the fat. Personally having a fried egg isn't even worth the 20 calories... but to someone who loves them it may be.
