The best exercise for discouragement is:
    1. Go to a large city.
    2. Find the tallest building.
    3. Walk the stairs to the top.
    4. Walk to the edge of the roof.
    5. Throw your scale off, don't hit anyone below.

My surgery was two weeks ago. After the surgery, I was hooked up to a PCA pump with Morphine and it did it's job. I had no pain, a little nausea and no dizziness. I stayed in the hospital three days, and by day three I felt normal with a little twinge in my side. After I came home, I slept and walked and drank. All in all, the process was simple. The hard part comes when you have to drink all of those super sweet Protein drinks+water+meals+vitamins. Now, I am over twenty pounds lighter on the verge of being 199 lbs. It's crazy! You will feel so much better. Good luck to everyone!

She sat down with her sister and read the original post and all of your wonderful responses. You should have seen the look on both of their faces. You'd think they were reading a certified letter stating that they had been named as the primary recipients in the estate of a Saudi prince!
Sometimes being human is not so bad!
    Thanks, folks!

I have been a slow loser and my losses have slowed down dramatically over time. Right now I'm only losing about a quarter of a pound a week. Yes, you read that right. But you know what? I'm still losing! And that's what counts. It isn't about how quickly I lose in comparison to anyone else, it's just about the fact that the number on the scale is going down when for years it was only going up!

OMG, you should be dancing on the ceiling. Women always lose slower, nothing wrong with that. Could you have done it on your own? Be proud of yourself for doing the right thing.

Amy, 21 pounds in 21 days!? Pretty good!!?? That's amazing! Focus on how much better you feel and not the number on the scale. It's so hard not to compare ourselves to other people, but find joy in YOUR journey and just Celebrate the successes of others and we'll be here to celebrate yours as well!

March 13th in Tijuana Mexico. I have been blessed with an extremely easy recovery thus far.. Just hoping to get past the DVT and leak "danger" window and then I will breathe easy. My sleeve has had almost no inflammation, I didn't take any pain medicine since leaving the hospital and wasn't even given any narcotic pain medicine when I was there (I asked them not to give me any since narcotics make me feel yucky.. I'd rather have pain than take narcotics). I've been able to drink freely since the day after my surgery (drank 80 ounces of Fluid the very next day after surgery with no problems at all) No nausea after day two.. I did have some stomach spasms that lasted the first several days. For the first two days, they'd stop me in my tracks, but reduced in intensity over the next week until they went away completely. The diet is progressing amazingly. I enjoyed a scrambled egg for Breakfast this morning with 1/4 cup of curried lentils pureed with spinach and carrots and I added a few splashes of hot sauce. VERY yummy! Getting 70 grams of Protein a day.. about half from food and the other half from shakes and I'm able to get all my Water. Getting all my Vitamins in pill form so no need for yucky chewables. I'm back to work at my boyfriend's store and not even tempted by all the chips and pastries we sell there, I'm working full days on my feet, but not doing any lifting or extensive bending/streching yet. Incisions healing very well. I couldn't be more thrilled with my VSG experience so far!

Even though my surgery is this coming Monday, I've been waiting on approval and I just got word from my coordinator.... APPROVED!!!! It finally feels real. I had been scared to get my hopes up because I've had such a hard time with insurance, and after countless hours of the phone, special requests from my PCP, changing hospitals and surgeon, all the fighting is over. Whew, it's really happening good luck to everyone and especially anyone struggling with insurance.

You just had your surgery wtf. Did he expect it to just be gone over night? It took time to get that big so its going to take time to lose it. You should only take pics at intervals of 3 months. Why because you will see the dramatic difference.
I swear its our spouses that have the biggest envy issues
