Golf ball with water!!!!!!!!!!Any advise???
Kathy please tell us how you are later today. I have to say that sounds like an extremely hard weekend to go through. BUT I heard in our support groups that fills sometimes take several days to get used to the renewed tightness. That they even have a little more give days later. Those that had them decreased where less happy weeks later than those whom toughed it out while they adjusted. I think the warm liquids is the best advise given thus far & I just bet you'll be doing much better by Sunday nite/Monday morn. Of course if its unbearable there should be a doc on call from the office to help. Occupy your weekend as much as possible, it will fly by:cool:

Help!!
Great suggestions all- I just wanted to say one thing about water. Awhile back I heard this professional trainer say that "You should drink water when your NOT thirsty." Because when you are thirsty you have actually reached the point where your body ALREADY is dehydrated. So by drinking a little throughout the day you never should reach that point of dehydration. This just clicked for me- it made sense. I mean by the time I think to drink usually I am so parched! Hope this helps us all consume more h2o!

Will I be able to be pregnant with the band?
Having the band was the only option I would consider. Because like all of you, I too want a little ankle bitter one day & this was the safest way to go about it besides trying to lose on my own. Love Love my dog & he is my baby but the conversation is slightly one sided:0):laugh

How has your relationship with food changed?
Trish, I am sending you the biggest "HUG" right now!!!! You are off on a new road & will together with your husband get healthier & healthier! I just know it! I too was in a verbal & mental abusive marriage. When it turned physical I got out quick. I was with him for 5 years total, we lived together for 4 & were married during those years for only 8mnths. Thank goodness not longer. Two years prior to meeting my X my Grandfather passed away, a great man & lived a long life. While we all were morning his death , two mnths later my father died of a sudden stroke. The next two years I put on 40 pds. than came the husband & an additional 20 pds. After the divorce (no kids) I gained another 20pds over the next to years. which leads me to today. We all have such deep seeded pasts. I hope we can each wake up tomorrow morning & say My past begins now and all that happened before is gone(at least the bad memories). As soon as I can figure out how to post a photograph I hope to show you my before inspiration & my current photos.

How has your relationship with food changed?
At my psych appointment i confessed out loud for only the 2nd time in my life that I used to sneak down the stairs around the age of 9 or 10 while all were asleep & cram hohos in my mouth as fast as possible. Why? I don't know.. really have never figured it out fully. I was hungry, at least I thought I was. We were a clean your plate family. Never denied dessert. To this day - infact just a 1/2 hour ago I am amazed at how many crackers I ate. I am still hungry & could go finish off the new box if I wanted to. I also admit I will probably finish the box tomorrow or the next day. I can't wait to get banded! But while I wait I will keep reading all your stories & gain inspiration to begin changing the tape running through my head. Thank you all for sharing. Also Whippledaddy you are quite the poet! nicely written.

Thank you-I will give it a try. I also found those adorable weight measurers like Dylansmam has. But I am trying to figure out how she transfered to her name on this site. Trial & error I guess ;0)

Trish- how do we write the "info" under our names for our weight & stuff? Also how do people get the cute stuff at the bottom of their logs? Like dancing bananas? I appreciate the help.

Picture of Me!
WoW-Trish- what beautiful shots! Your going to get that insurance & start before I do! I am so jealous :0) Your a beautiful gal- like you, I used to take tons of shots-especially back in the day when I actually modeled a bit. OHH How I miss those days! Of course I say that chowing down on this peanut butter & jelly sandwich :0( It was a tough day I found out I can't even see the dietian for a mnth & have to BEFORE sending in for insurance acceptance. I was really getting ready & that just took the wind right out of my sails. anyhow had to vent. I love the idea of a preband photo & will put mine up before I get a date. Than we can both shed the years & pounds together!

SEX question
Delarla Its says you had your port removed?? Did I read correctly? what was the problem & was it resolved?
-
SEX question
toooo funny Delarla I asked the doctor "the question" Straight out. "Hey Doctor H. what about Vigorous Sex?" He just smiled and said "No problem." I mean come on...... sometimes thats the only exercise I used to get. I say used to get because I've been divorced for awhile now. But when I'm a lean mean machine again, I plan "exercising" really soon with someone special.

Its so great to hear from people that have been banded for a few years & that they are so successful at their weight loss! Most importantly that their health is good. way to go I hope you hit your goal of under 200 really soon!

Love the site & had to join in on the support
Forgot to mention I am from Michigan & if I am banded will go to Dr Hawashi. I just turned 38 & would love to have a child someday - so that is why I think the band is the best choice. Thank you all for saying hello.

Love the site & had to join in on the support
Hi All, I have not been banded as of yet but am considering it & will decide in the next month or so. I have already recieved my referral & taken the psych exam & passed. I am sending in the weight loss history tomorrow & will wait to hear from the insurance. I am currently 243 & 5'6" according to the last measurement (where I tried to slouch as much as possible to take off a 1/2" or more) LOL - you see I am not quite 40 BMI> But I am close at 37BMI & have gerd & knee problems once in awhile. I love this site & have learned alot thus far. Congrats to all that have taken control of thier lives! I hope to have the courage to join you as well. Warmly I'll succeed

Hey Scuba divers-Any problems w/pressure?
Silly question maybe-BUT I am wondering about deep dives & the possiblitiy of the band slipping out of place. Does anyone know if this could be a problem? Thanks

Does the band ever need to be replaced years later?
Can any tell me if a band over a LARGE period of years will need to be replaced? Most surgery techniques don't last a lifetime, kind of like face-lifts & veneers. Also can anyone tell me who has had the band in place for over a few years or the longest? I would love to know of any longterm problems. Thank you so very much. I am hoping to be banded in a few mnths.
