Gail - Welcome Hi blue eyed baby - It's hard to get that exercise in when you work so much - I am lucky to have 7:30 to 4 job. Kirajh - Congrats on the 5lbs - see increase exercise cut out cookie and you are a winner Salsa - What grade do you teach?? Yes it's the average that counts that's why I don't weigh daily that up and down depresses me - the days that i think i am doing great i'm up 3 lbs - days i over eat - i am down 2 go figure.. Unruhlydhd- I must eat my veggies or I get stopped up (tmi:D) Janiee - IMHO if you can exercise I really beleive that it will help - I really think it's my secret to my 43.5 gone - I think we will have the challenge between Turkey & Old St Nick - so make sure to join us for that one :Banane20: Linda - I agree with you - I may go a couple of days and not get on the computer - but when i do the 1st place i always come is here - I agree the support we have here is so GREAT.. I too may jump on the scale during the week - but only record on Thursday ... Nichole - I understand the alcohal - but you have to enjoy your life - it's that we cant eat as much and the booze hits us faster imho CONGRATS on 16 :clap2: - Happy Sunday Morning - Hope everyone enjoys that extra hour of sleep this morning.. 2 GREAT NSV to report -- went to the show last night with a friend - looking for something to wear cuz everything is so baggy on me - welll decided to try on these size 14 jeans that i have had for about 3 yrs (never worn) - i tried them on a couple of weeks ago and they still didn't fit - last night - they FIT - 2nd NSV sitting at the show I can cross my legs - my girl friend guessed my weight to be 180 - Told her no - 206 - she said omg by the time you get to goal you are going to be looking great... Went to the cheesecake factory for dinner - ate the inside of 1 1/2 fish tacos - one bite of rice and shared a piece of low carb cheese cake - It's funny when I tired on those jeans and was able to cross my legs - do you know the 1st thing that came to mind - My LUCKY #7 gang - couldn't wait to share - Other are happy for me it's not that its just you guy REALLY UNDERSTAND what a great acomplishment it is to cross your legs or fit it to a size you haven't worn in YEARS...
  2. Phyl Its been warm here - cools at night though I only walked 4 miles total last week - so i am not that impressive - but will get back into - i can't stop or i won't loose the weight - It has to be hard to manage what you eat while traveling... so stay off the scales till you get down here.. remember retaining water... Be Safe.. Janet
  3. How to Attach a Picture to a Post 1. Use the Edit or Post Reply buttons (not Quick Reply) to open an Edit window that has an attachment option. 2. Click on the Attachments icon (the paperclip) located above the box where you enter text, just to the right of the white smiley face icon. That will open a "Manage Attachments" window. 3. Click on the Browse button in the new window, and then browse to the picture on your computer. Once the correct picture is highlighted, click on the Open button. The browse window will close. 4. Still in the "Manage Attachments" window, click on the Upload button (next to the Browse button). To upload more than one picture, repeat this process. Once you have uploaded all of your pictures, close the "Manage Attachments" window. You will now be back in your edit window. 5. Click on the paperclip icon again and you will see your pic listed there. Select it and it will be placed in your post at the location of your cursor. You will notice that the picture will not show yet, but rather you will see something like this: [ ATTACH] 4260[/ATTACH ] with the numbers highlighted. You will need to move your cursor to the left or right of the [ ATTACH] codes before repeating the process to attach another picture. Otherwise, it will just replace the first one. Pictures can also be moved around once they are in a post. Move the mouse pointer over the image and a four-way arrow will appear. Holding down the left mouse button will "grab" the image and allow you to move it to another location in your post. Clicking on the paperclip icon and selecting "Manage Attachments" will reopen the "Manage Attachments" window and allow you to delete or add more pictures for the current post.
  4. Marcy - Congrats :clap2: Well no ones here tonight I was watching TV about to fall asleep so got on the computer and no ones here.. Well, went to the gym - 3 miles 50 minutes... Tomorrow morning will go try for another 3 - who knows if i feel strong enought i may go for 4 - havent done that in a few weeks.. Chim - Dini - Lynette - Sunny - Jeanie - where are you guys - you use to be the ring leaders here. Now we hardly ever hear from you.... Hope all is well - will ck back later ...
  5. Well just cking cuz there are so many women here and glad to hear you are all man But really, every other day increase your calories by 100 example M-1000 - T 1100 - W 1000 -T 1100 - just add healthy choice fudgecicle sf it 80 calories and really good - or some more yogurt or even a piece of fruit... I think that may help and i have read & heard quite frequently lately it's not how long you exercise but the intenstity in which you exercise.. I am no where close to being a trainer - so i am just parroting what I have been reading and hearing on tv. Good luck - I know that plateau is headed my way - but I eat as much as you do if not a tad more and I'm a girl - so i don't burn as many caloires as you do just by breathing... I relate to wanting it off fast - I too am eager to get to goal as fast as possible - but remember we didn't get fat over nite - so it's not going to come off over nite Again - Good luck - try it and let me know if it works
  6. I agree with this 100% - Well said :clap2:
  7. TXbandit - Congratulations for taking care of you !!!!
  8. Gwenn read my post above yours
  9. Why we want to see the "NEW" you....
  10. do you think that maybe not being as successfull is where this anger is coming from MB - i don't see any stats for you
  11. I think that some think that just by being banded that they are going to lose weight - that they don't have to do any of the work I read it all the time help i'm not losing I can eat anything - Well come on now just can does that mean you should. It really bugs me... They think the band is the cure all to their food issues. This is no diff than outsiders saying that that band and bypass as the easy way out. Heck if it was just the band that made you lose the weight i would agree with them - but it's not - you gotta do the work to...
  12. cute - my dog does this in the morning when she needs to go out to potty....
  13. I don't think you are eating enought - you are a man correct??? I think you may need to increase your caloires a little every other day day 1 1500 - day 2 1000 day3 1600 day 4 1200 son so forth
  14. it's up to your doc - for most i think 6 weeks - that was mine anyway..
  15. Here is a typical days food & exercise. BF - Dannon Lite & Fit Yogurt with 1/4 cup LF granola or 1/2 Cup Eggbeaters with a tad of cheese & ham or a weight control oatmeal (calories for bf 100 - 160 - Protein 6 - 12 g) Lunch- Ususally left overs - Veggie 1 - 2 cups & small can of tuna About once every 2 weeks go out to lunch and eat a Taco or el pollo loco chick & bean 1 corn tortilla (Calories lunch 200 to 250 - PT 15) Afternoon - Clear Protein Drink that my Doc Sells (calories 70 - 15 grms pt 15) dinner - 4 oz baked catfish - 1/2 cup rice or small red bake potato 1 or 2 cup yellow crooked neck squash & zuchinne. or spinach (calories 320 - 400 - pt 25) Evening - 2 SF Choc puddings & 1 heathly Choice SF fudgecicle (calorie 200 to 300 - pt 7) Exercise - 5 day a week go to gym - walk minimum 2 miles - am now doing a 16 min mile - started at 22 min mile goal is 15 min mile - may do 3 miles on one day and on saturday mornings i strive for 3 or 4 miles and once in a while do a little work on the weights - but mostly just the walking... Those calories are not exact nor is the menu - I figure i eat about 1000 to 1200 calories a day and get minium 60 grms of protein. I mostly use I can't believe it's not butter spray on my veggies & rice and some times a tad or real butter and olive oil to bake my fish - I eat fish 5-6 days a week red meat once a week- I count calories and protein and diary all my food in a little notebook that i carry. Prior to this last fill - i was usually eating 2 cup of food per meal - excluding Breakfast.. I got my 2nd fill on 10/24 and will start the whole banding diet over - 1 week full liquids - 1 week mushies - 1 week soft - 4th week back to reg food. I am working hard at this and i am hungry at times -- it's a mental challenge to change your eating habits. If i am extra hungry at nite - i eat extra veggies - may have lite toast & butter along with 1/2 cup o.j. (lite) - I dislike exercise very much - but i know that it is a MUST to help you loose weight- good luck
  16. Cindy - My port site hurt for a few weeks - that's most likely all it is.. but i'm not a doc - maybe you should ck with them...
  17. Ok new banders - you will only feel your band if you over eat - it will cause you to pb - slime - golf ball in chest. IMHO the band only does 25% of the work (restrictions) but the other 75% of the weight loss is up to you. You have to make healthy food choices and add exercise to your lifestyle.. I have followed my doctors & nutristinst rules, eat sugar free, low fat make healthy food choices - I don't eat chips, Cookies, regular ice cream, candy, tons of mashed potatoes - rice or Pasta (i have these carbs but only 1/2 c at dinner) All these foods are high in calories and go through the band just as if you didn't have one. I weigh & measure my food and keep a food diary and I also log my exercise. I am working towards a healthier life - you have to make changes in the way and what we eat. The band is only a tool - that piece of plastice does not make you lose weight - it is not the magic cure to your food issues - they banded your tummy not your head - and the real problems lie in your head not your tummy. OP you are in banderst hell - time between surgery & 1st fill and even with your 1st fill - you might not hit your sweet spot - but you have to remember why you got banded in the 1st places - and make healthly food choices - you do have to work - this is no different then any other weight loss programs - you have to make life time changes in the way that you eat and what you eat... Good Luck...
  18. CeCe - If you aren't at your sweet spot - go in for another fill and we just gotta say no to all the junk - it's not healthy. Linda - I think our honeymoon period is over - now our old brains are trying to re-surface... It's ok one slice of brownie is ok - well for us food addicts it isn't. Is one drink ok for an alcohalic??? Nope - This is what we have to remember - once we start - it's a little here - Oh i have it under control - but then the next day oh this little bit won't hurt - Most of us have already started this game playing (myself inculded) STOP STOP STOP SPOT !!!!!! We have the hardest period coming up - I have done this before during the holidays - and I have won - when you see that your fav piece of See's candy - look at it - look at the darn box and say I AM STRONGER THAN YOU.... Play good mind games like that - not the ones that tell you 1 piece is ok... Phyl I too retain water when traveling and get stopped up too (tmi ) I only drink when in social situations - but the problem with that is you have only 4 oz x 5 day a week we'll say -I drink all that in one evening at a party Thank God the next party is just down the street so i can stager home:D Ruby - JUST DON'T BUY IT THEN,.... Problem solved... Don't have it can't drink it :biggrin1: CC CONGRATS on the 2lbs :clap2::clap2: - the body bugg maybe a xmas present to myself - it just seems that the $$$$ is going out faster than it's coming in - but I think it would be a great challenge tool for me. Ribearty - :clap2: 4.5 LBS OMG THAT'S GREAT - what's your secert :biggrin1: Distant - I too hit the gym last nite - it IS the secert to weight loss besides the healthy eating - OK gang - I'm not going to keep tabs of the mini challenge - but all who want in let's report next Thursday 11/8 - your weight loss... Maybe we should all do this from now until the end of the year - We always don't look at each others tickers - maybe this will help in having to be accountable - That does help some - remember weigh in days at WW - omg - the couple days prior you would really watch what you ate. I know this doesn't fit all of us - but some of us need the accountablity factor - so those who do - Thursdays is Weigh in Day - Those who want will post their weight loss for the week?? Let me tell you ladies - sweet spot is Sweet but Difficult too... Ok that sounds stupid but let me explain - I can eat - but my portions have REALLY been cut in half - great for the weight loss - but hard on the brain - i am only able to eat 4 oz fish 1/4 c veg - and maybe stuff in a 1/3 c of brown rice - am really full phyically from just the fish but that stupid old brain says you haven't had enought to eat. Happy Friday - hope everyone is back on the Band Wagon - ...
  19. Don't they make a lite version???
  20. Janet I am with you and the 2 pound mini goal. I am way to tired to start kicking up the exercise tonight though. :bored I did really well today. I ate very little and was satisfied. I am not a breakfast person anyway, never have been, and not always a lunc heater either. I know I am supposed to eat 3 meals a day but honestly if I start out the day eating I eat all day. I do better if I only eat when I am hungry and I don't get hungry until 4-5pm. Jackie I use to be the same way - but not anymore now i want breakfast around 8/9 a.m.- guess cuz i am not eating so much in the middle of the night pt coffee - yogurt for breakfast - 1 cup spinach lunch clear pt drink this afternoon 3 oz fish & veggies & 1/3 cup rice for dinner - most likely 1 or 2 sf pudding for snacks tonight - went to the gym - 2.17 miles 32 minutes - going for 3 tomorrow... Just paid my bills - omg depressed - had to buy a new washer/dryer a couple of weeks ago - well such is life - I must look at it that I am very forturnate to have the $$ to buy it - alot lot don't... Distant - after readingmy response - sounded a little cold - here's the rope we are pulling you aboard - want to join me and Jackie for our mini 2 lbs my next thrus???
  21. Plateau (sp) or you are eating more than you were - just little bits here and there or you aren exercising as much or skipping a day here or there.. I have read where people are doing everything the same and the scales just quit moving - you just gotta keep up the work and know that they will move again. We have lost quite a bit of weight awful fast - maybe our body needs to catch up with it's self... or maybe cuz sh*t happens :0) .... (hows that for an answer ;0)
  22. ok that's not easily found here and not everyone directs you to the theard where instructions are. I got mine (Insturctions) from another board - she (Photonut) use to be here but for some reason got suspended from this board - but found the instructions on her site and was able to get mine. I wanted one when I first found this board too :0) - eveyone has them newbies want them too.. I don't think that a dumb questions - imho... I know that i get tired of seeing that - and the pb & slime quesstions - but from a newbie what do you really expect - its the really dumb ones like pbing after they are banded that gets me - didn't you do any reading before you got your band...
  23. #1 where are you getting cost for surgery - did the doc tell you - i have bc ca hospital billed insurance 64,000 for 2 night - insurance paid $3500 I paid $350 - this very individual as to where you live what your doc charges - i have read tht in mex you can get it done for $7500 #2 it depends on your doc - does he include 1 month 2 month etc of fill for no charge - that's totally a doc matter we can't answer #3 It's the way of insurance companies - every thing must go by their doctors before you get approval. Good Luck...
  24. Kirajh - do you really need the cookies in your house?? That's the thing with me - if it's there i will eat it - if it's not I won't... So I just don't buy things I like.. If your hubby just has to have the cookies then have him keep them somewhere else that you don't know about... just a suggesstion...
  25. I have 2 of them myself - so i UNDERSTAND.... xoxoxo J
