Congrats Jackie :clap2::clap2: 4 lbs - that's Great :clap2::clap2: I have sf choc pudding cups & healthy choice fudgecicles for my chocolate cravings - candy is all gone as I can't be trusted in the middle of the night even with my band - I have zip control at night... well really i do have some - but i am far from beings strong in the middle of the night as i am during the day - i know my weakness so that's why i save my snack from the day for night time.. IMHO Throw the stupid candy away.... it's evil....

Ssankofa - I never really slime bad- i just get the golf ball and have pb'd and once on pudding and there was tons of slime in the pb - i know tmi:) I had a small pb last night on a piece of meat - that I did chew - but then drank some Water - (midnight kitchen raid) and the water came right back up - I love dry salami (sliced kind) can't think of the brand and even if i chew - i get that small golf ball My doggies don't understand the time change - so Angel woke me up at 4 a.m to go potty - I had went to bed really earlies the night before - like at 9 so i had had my sleep - so i just stayed up drank my coffe and went to the gym @ 5 a.m - did 2 miles then tonite went back for another 2 - :clap2: - I think i may have hit a platue (sp) - I have been getting on the scales too much this last week and they don't stay down. like right now weigh 204.5 - but in the mornings weigh 206 or 205.. I have been weighing less in the mornings - but i am off the one blood pressure med that did have a water pill in it. so may be its that - NOT - i have been hitting the Peanut Butter lately - so i threw it away tonite... better in thee than in me.... I am so close to Onelander - that i can taste it... Well Thrusday morning is my offical weigh in day - so we will see what's up then hopefully I can get up in the morning and go to the gym again..

Salsa - Your restriction is better than mine and i think i have pretty good restriction- i think i am at my sweet spot - i would not want to be any tighter than i am. here is my menu for the day breakfast - 1/3 cup egg beaters w/cheese = 90 c - 10 pt Lunch - cabbage bell pepper onion pork rice (one pot wonder) 250 c - 10 pt (1 cup food am full) Clear Protein Drink - 70 c - 15 pt Dinner - 4 oz 0Fish - 1/2 cup veggies - 1/4 cup brown rice= 280 c = 25 pt ( i will be stuffed on this dinner) Snack - yogurt 5 gr pt - or pudding 2 grms pt - or fudgecicle 3 grms calories for snack 60 to 80 so thats about 1030 caloires for the day and about 65 grms pt. My doc says to try to eat HIGH protein food the very first thing so that by night time you can get some carbs & veggies 1 oz meat = 7 grms of protein.. Instead of an egg for breakfast - how about a Protein shake - that has 20 grms of pt or egg beater which has 1/3 the calories of a real egg and just as much protein... heck add some veggies to make an omlette - I love my veggies and i eat zuchinnee & yellow crooked neck squash almost every night (very low in calories) - cook them really well and it's like eating Soup - try that. I really don't count the calories from my veggies - i just add 50 c for veggies weither i have one or two cups... to me veggies are free - see i am a ww girl ;0) You are doing great !!!!!

Im New Help Me !!
Yes Hersheekisz it's normal - are you able to eat cream Soups - i made soupy mash potatoes - that really helped me... I read that alot of people think that the band takes away hunger - For me that's not a true statement - cuz even when I am full - I still want to eat it's cuz I know i only ate 1 cup of food and not 3 bowl fulls - I really don't think us fat people eat cuz we are truely hungry - we don't know what true hunger is - cuz we ate all the time - hugh quanities - high fat & high sugar foods. We are experts at head hunger issue... I will sit here today and tell you that I will be phyically full (i really concentrate on my phyical fullness) but will still "think" i am hungry... Well gotta get back to work - will ck in later - but ya you are normal...

Kirajh - that's what i heard i don't know if it's true or not -but it would be worth contacting a burn center. My 16 grandson lives with me and is truely my son in my heart - I couldn't not take his or either of my 2 granddaughter dieing - it's just not the way it's suppose to be - us grandma's are suppose to go first.. Again - blessing on you and your family...

Gained all my weight back
sandyray - you have taken the 1st step to regain your healthly life style You really do know what to do - you have gotten a fill and found this site. Now all you have to do is put yourself 1st - make you your #1 priority.... I don't care what nationality your are - it can be mex - afro american - what ever - all families revolve around food - just cuz they do doesn't mean you have too. That's like saying ok my sis does drugs so i am going to do them too. Us fat people play so many mental mind games with ourselves (imho) You are a strong woman - you know the work that needs to be done - as you are aware the band is only a tool and is no guarentee that they weight will stay off for life if you go back to bad food choices. Start making new healthy food choices - low fat sugar free - exercise - and for your hubby - he can eat healthy too - it's not going to kill him - control your portoins - get another fill - you can do this - you have to do this for you and only you...
-
To unfill or not unfill that is the question.
IMHO - you need to get some taken out - you are too tight which can cause problems in itself - you should be able to eat regular food by now. You need healthly food not chocolate Good Luck

How is everyone this morning - I love this time change - my furries baby woke me up at 4 a.m. (she doesn't know time changes she thinks it's 5a.m) - took them out to potty - made coffee watched the last half of Dancing with the Stars - got dress - went to the gym @ 5 a.m. and did 2 miles !!! Came home showered dressed (pretty cute in a xlarge - not plus size dress) feeling really strong and very good today (prayers do work - i asked God in my nightly prayers last nite to make me strong today) and I am feeling really good today..... Well, hope you all have a GREAT DAY - make good healthy food choices and get your exercise in... Talk to ya'll later - gotta get to work

How is weight loss for people over 50?
Brenda, you are too kind I just tell it like it is - I feel that we all have so many common issues - we are fat girls - we think like fat girls and we have the insecurities of fat girl - But we are on our way to a truely life style change and not just a diet. Diets don't work - it really is all about a lifestyle change and dealing with our food issues - the band really is a great tool to help in changing our habit.. Maybe it cuz we have choosen such a drastic soultion to our weight issues that I find it so very motivating. Congrats on your surgery date 11/30 :clap2: - I will keep you in my prayers on that day. Please know that for the first few days you won't feel your best but that every day it does get better by day 3 you should be feeling pretty good. Make sure you get the gasx strips - walk and drink your fluids.. xoxox Janet Denise you are doing so friggin great :clap2:- 15 lbs to goal - :clap2:I think you are way too hard on yourself... I think the band is just that tool we all need to help us make those good choices - and some days we don't - but for the most part we do and that's how you have gotten so close to your goal - Keep up the GREAT work... You are an inspiration...

Jackie - It's great that you are being Pro-active and getting another fill - I too try and ask myself am I really hungry or just bored... I just try and find low calorie foods to eat or at least healthy (extra veggies) - last night ate some grapes & watermelon- but when i got up for my midnite snack coule only eat 3/4 of those SMALL sf pudding cups.. I think that some days we are just hungrier than others - And who knows about that STUPID SCALE - one day 204, next day 207 - I hate it!!!!! working towards 204.5 by Thurs our weigh in day... I didn't get to exercise on sat but went today - it should be getting easier - but some days it's harder... I think it's that way for everyone even people without weight issues.. Snow OMG it's 90 here 68 at night - my GD said she wished it would get cold soon here it is Nov and it's still 90 - people here are still in shorts and sandels.... White Xmas - whats that I just pray for a cloudy cool day for Christmas - I hate it when its sunny and 82 Christmas day.. What are you reading?? I started a Dean Koontz the other day - but haven't really gotten into it yet ... Well, just cking in while my dinner cooks - fish & veggies maybe a small baked potatoe... Talk to ya later - sweet dreams.

How is weight loss for people over 50?
2bthinagn 35.5 lbs gone:clap2: You are doing good - It most likely shows - but since we are always so hard on ourselves you just aren't seeing it like a stranger would - (post them so we can see your before & progress) Some times when you have more weight to lose it takes a little longer for it to really show. Don't be discouraged by your pic's - the real answers are in how do you feel - how are your clothes fitting - I bet you are feeling so much better!!! Just think you are not carrying around 3 - 10 pound sacks of potatoes and 5.5 pounds of butter - I bet you that your weight loss is noticable - it's just that we are doing so much work that we think it should just melt off like that... but remember you didn't put it on in 3 months - so it's not all going to be gone in 3 months... One day at a time - 1 pound at a time - don't get discouraged - just think in another 3 months - the total will be 70 gone !!

kirajih - I am so sorry for your loss - I have 3 grandkids and the eldest is like my own child - I can't imagine the pain that you have to indure. My prayers to you and your family... I am an organ donor - and yes I heard that you can some time go to a burn center and donate your skin (apron - don't know the official name masomething - even arms) a way to get the plastic surgery for free... Distant I too am sorry for your loss - I can't imagine it... My heart and prayers to you and your family..

How is weight loss for people over 50?
Thanks Mistymoon !!!!! That's sweet - Frame it - I don't know if it's that good:) Cblancha - it really does depend on what you are eating and the band is fickle imho - last night had this one pot wonder - onions bell peppers jalapeno cabbage pork chop garlic soy sauce rice - all julinee and cooked ate 1 cup and was still sort of hungry (mostly head hunger) then ate 1/4 flour tortilla with meat & cheese - got golf ballk - ate some grapes (10/15) then on my midnight run had 1/2 sf pudding snack and got little golf ball. I am eating about the same as you - i eat fish 5 nights a weeks and it's soft - had chicken at chinesse last week ate chick no problem. Longhorn - had popcorn at the show the other night - and i buy the small 100 calorie bags - i just chew well and haven't had any problems Everyone is diff on what they eat - yesterday had a toast grilled cheese sandwich (lite bread 2% milk cheese) at it with no problems. Yesterday went shopping apples looked really good - so bought 2 - tried to eat 1/2 for snack today - could only eat 1/4 - I LOVE MY BAND ....

How do you get a dr. to approve surgery????
You have to get a referral right - cuz you have an hmo - and this is your pcp that's tellling you to lose weight - imho your doc is assh*le. I was 250 and am 5'4 too when I met with the surgeon, but I have a ppo - so i went directly to the surgeon in my book - can you change pcp docs to someone who is more understanding -

Not sure of size yet - really haven't bought anything cuz - I don't want to spend $$$ when I am going to lose more weight - so I will just muddle throught for now - may look next weekend for a couple things as I have a couple of parties to attend - but can't wait to shop in the womens section and no more bbw section

How is weight loss for people over 50?
Longhorn - Congrats on being banded :clap2: as each day passes you will feel better - I was banded on Tues - back to work the following Monday. Your port site is going to be the most painful for awhile but it goes away too. Make sure to drink your water & get all your protein and you will do great.... Misty - I gotta say that for that for the most part - shear will power is what you have to do until you hit your sweetspot - My 1st fill it took the doc forever to find the soft spot in my port - that fill lasted about a week - i am lucky cuz my 2nd fill on 10/24 - found the soft spot right away and I have good restriction.. I wrote a long dissertation on will power a few pages back- We think we don't have it - but we really do as the band helps ... We have to change our whole way of dealing with food - and prior to getting proper restriction is a great training grounds imho Make good food choices - this is a life time committment...
