  1. I'd say that's crazy fast! I can only hope mine will drop that fast. I was sleeved 12-31 and have lost 21. I, too, had no complications and have been able to tolerate all food and liquids. I can't believe how easy my recovery was!
  2. I had my surgery over winter break (12-31). I go back on the 22nd. I easily could have went back a week earlier. I also had no complications. I would say 2 weeks would be enough time for recovery. It will be hard for me to get back in the swing of things. I already can hear those school bells! I am 46 and work in Sped.
  3. Poor baby! It's so funny how doctor's orders can be so different. I had surgery on 12-31 and was on liquids for 1 week, then soft for the next week. I have been able to tolerate everything so now I got the ok to eat almost anything. I've been eating lots of soup, chili. ground meat. etc. I've lost 23 pounds so far. I enjoy the doctored up protein shakes for dessert. Good luck to you!
  4. I have a problem w/ portions also. I'm almost 3 weeks out and have been able to tolerate all foods. I want to feel more restriction but I really don't, Today for lunch i ate an order of refried beans (Taco Bell) and the meat and cheese from a soft taco with no problem. I ate slow and finished about 95%. I also had a protein shake for breakfast and a cheeseburger patty for dinner. What gives?
  5. i have trouble w/ portion control or not stopping when I am approaching satisfied. My mind set is still with the clean plate club. There are starving children you know (lol). I just need to think of food differently now.
  6. shakes all the way..gotta doctor the up though. I actually like them now. who woulda thought?
  7. thanks for the reality check...even though I can eat stuff, i should follow the guidelines. I guess i assumed my new tummy was healed. i go see my surgeon and nut tomorrow. can't wait to see the #'s for the 2 week mark.
  8. I didn't really have pain, just pressure. I did use the pain meds to the fullest, though. No point suffering. It was so much easier than a c-section. Good luck!
  9. Unfortunately (or not) I have been able to eat anything..2 wks out. No throw up, no pain. I did have about 4 of my sons. I had that they tasted good. I also had a cheeseburger (no bun). I almost ate the whole thing.I sometimes wish i couldn't eat that stuff!
  10. i go back next week also. I plan a having a protein shake for breakfast. For lunch I will take soup and some pudding or applesauce. I'll have a snack after work. I am nervous going back. Gotta say i wouldn't mind the retired life!
  11. I couldn't stand Isopure. I was thankful I kept my receipt from GNC so I could a refund. Syntex nectar makes a good lemonade...I know it's so hard.

  17. I has the repair too but had no pain at all. The only pain for me was the pressure (gas). I used all the pain meds possible for 2 days. 10 days out today and feel amazing! Best wishes!

I hated them too until I tweaked them. For vanilla, I add frozen strawberries, vanilla extract, stevia(sweetener), almond milk, ice and blend. For chocolate add 1/2 banana, vanila extract, almond milk, sweetener, ice and blend. They are a tasty breakfast for me now. Before that, I could barely get them down. Do they count for your liquid intake? I never asked.
  19. I mix berries and bananas in my protein smoothie. I also eat sf fruit bars. I can't wait to eat a big salad! Soon I hope. I'm not even 2 wks in.
  20. 2 days, surgery was 12-31, eating soft foods, down 20 and doing great!
  21. I think you'll be ok. When was your surgery? Mine was 12-31 and I've been eating soft foods for almost a week. Soup, mashers, cream of wheat and tonight..chili!
  22. I will soon find out. My surgery was 12-31 and I will get my labs done soon.
