  2. Girl I have one and I don't even know how it works!!
  3. I think it's especially important for us to pay attention to these things too. Not only because it takes so much less to knock us on our butts. I think the risk of a "crossover addiction" is very easy! I come from a background of family members with addiction issues (drugs alcohol) I have NEVER had a problem with drugs or alcohol (just food) . I was very prepared for many things after surgery but the one thing I didn't think about was the temptation to find comfort in things that never comforted me before.. The weeks after my surgery I became increasingly aware of my "need" for my pain meds (refilled twice) it got to a point I looked forward to my nightly dose. I wasn't taking it during the day just at night for my relaxing down time (the time I used to over eat also). I knew it was becoming an issue so I fessed up to my husband who then helped me hold myself accountable after. To this day I have to be really honest with myself as to why I want to take a medication.. Even allergy meds that make me sleepy. Eyes wide open.
  4. Ok break it up before I force feed you guys Cookies until you stretch out you "tiny little tummies" Don there is one guy that gets PISSED if I respond there.... So out I stay But trust me I'm inserting smart ass comments in my head the whole time!
  5. Make sure she doesn't give you a fake one like she did me....
  6. My word what a mess we have here... Listen we all have our own paths some of us will stay the course and some of us will make it up as we go... Op you do what you need to do, but my advice will always be the same when someone asks these questions. It's a new lifestyle we are trying to undertake and the fact of the matter some will succeed and some will not for a variety of reasons. I know from being further out that you need to make changes from the very first day because it will get harder and harder as the months go on. I think when people that are further out see posts like this they have insights that a new person in the heat of the moment don't see. And they try to honestly help. It seems that some people don't want it... But some will read this post and take away what I was trying to say I'm sure! So I can't win them all but I can "win" one or two. Op take care and sorry this forum wasn't what you were looking for.
  7. The chocolate chip Cookies are awesome! So are the chips. The biscotti's are really good at 10 calories each.. Oh but I must say that they carry the Calcium citrate chews that we need and I get those too. (Chocolate of course:p)
  8. Haha! Cheri I love you today ! Ok I'm off to clean the carpets in my house today.. I wonder how many calories that will burn Oh and my daughter is back from her first weekend from national guard! She's even more butch now
  9. Yep! Garbage in... Garbage out! I've had an upset stomach twice in all of my months both times eating something greasy and bad for me while out. Moral of the story? Don't eat crap.
  10. Yep ^ http://www.verticalsleevetalk.com/topic/88259-52-intermittent-fasting-thread-open-to-all/page__fromsearch__1
  11. I think at one point or another we have all "cheated the system" when dieting.. It's what got us all here! So I understand that mentality. The difference being, that right after surgery it's not about a "diet" to lose weight, your stomach needs to heal. So I do step in when I see new sleeved people telling other newly sleeved people "I ate an omelette and English muffin and I'm doing great! Go ahead you will be fine" Do I get yelled at for stepping in? Hell yes! But I do it because other people read those posts. Also it's important to try and relearn your relationship with food early out. Because you can cheat the sleeve and eat around it. I see it here everyday. It's sad to see all the pain that someone goes through to get this done only to fail themselves....
  12. All the chips are yummy! So are the Protein Cookies.... A little too good if you ask me! That's a great deal Molly!
  13. Have a good fast day girls! I'm on tomorrow. I bounced up a pins yesterday to 163 hoping it goes away this week. Clk I feel you about those other threads ugh. I'm not going to get drawn in again (I hope ) Coops you lost the pound and I found it! I need to get back to 162 so we can be twins again! I'm not ready to give up artificial sugars yet, a girl has to have some fun... Oh sugar alcohols? I don't use those. I've been taking Psyllium husk powder the last couple of days (yuck) but is working to keep things moving
  14. I eat Jerky sometimes I just wish it didn't have so much sodium.. It's like a salt lick Fage plain Greek I put a little Splenda and frozen blueberries in it, yummy! Oh tofu! Do you like it? High Protein and good stuff.
  15. I LOVED LOVED LOVED my premier shakes Drank them everyday for months after surgery past the point that I needed too.. Yeah I'm finally sick of them too. I try to eat Protein dense foods mostly like chicken and fish. But I also eat Fage 2% Greek yogurt everyday for an extra 20 grams. Good stuff and my new love. Oh milk makes you feel sick... Does All dairy then?
  16. Yeah well where where you when I was eating "bariatric Protein cookies" last night at 1 am
  17. Yay for no chocolate tonight! I do my best work at night too... I'm a sneak eater wait till everyone goes to bed kind a girl. I know all the feelings you are going through. I think a lot of women here can relate. As much as we hate being fat and unhealthy there is something "safe" about it. All I can say is therapy, it really does help you find out the "whys".
  18. Wow that's a lot of protein! For a non fast day too. I tend to eat mostly protein on fast days but haven't been so strict on feed days. I've been throwing in a lot more carbs with fruits veg and a few treats here and there..
  19. Paul, There has been many a time when I answer post trying to help with a thoughtful and time consuming reply only to be over looked because I am not saying the things that the op wants to hear.. I've even been called some not very nice things... So I understand your frustration. I also understand the addict that is in withdraws and is looking for an enabler.. They will stop at nothing in those moments. There have been times where I feel like just staying in my safe little corner here and communicate with a few individuals only. But if you let the misinformation train run rampant what would happen? It would be like a bad game of telephone! You are a vet that has been very successful, and this forum needs to have vets like you stick around! Laura
  20. That's just from a e book that has the very basics and a few recipes.. Not the main books that we have highlighted here. I think I need to read more because I'm getting conflicting info on the main site... So that page that I posted up there may not be true.
