  1. Congrats on your surgery!! Keep us posted!
  2. Congratulations!! You look amazing!!
  3. Wow! You guys are great! Thank you so much for all the support. You've made my day.
  4. Thank you everyone. Yes, I went to the ER. I was concerned at first when the ER Dr didn't even now what the sleeve is! But, they ran labs, Xrays, and got me hooked up to an IV. My oxygen levels were at 89 and the monitors kept going off. We left around 4:00 this morning. I slept most of the day thanks to the pain meds. I am feeling much better. Still a little weak, but no more heart palpatations or dizziness. I'm just trying to get more fluids in today and sleep as much as I can. I will follow up with my PCP tomorrow or the next day to make sure the wound infection is responding well to the meds. Thanks again, sorry I didn't post earlier. I just couldn't stay awake today!
  5. I'm 12 days post op. I'm dehydrated. I have been having a very hard time getting my liquids in. I'm averaging 18-30 ounces a day (inc Protein drinks). In addition to not drinking enough, I'm still nursing my son. I have had dizzy spells when standing up, felt faint, weak and extra tired. However, I don't feel terrible. So I'm not convinced that this is an emergency. I have no insurance and had my surgery in TJ. I plan to go see my PCP tomorrow. I don't think she can give me IV fluids but I figured I would start there. I also have 2 incision sites that are infected. Green pus oozing out of one of them. My PCP will give me antibiotics, so again, it doesn't seem like an emergency (ER visit) situation. The reason I'm posting this, is because I have a slight fever, horrible headache and have had some chest palpitations. I don't want to spend the money at the ER and expose myself to the flu. But, I don't want to make an ignorant decision if it was truly an emergency. I have called my PCP and its after hours, no on call Dr info. I also emailed my patient coordinator around noon and haven't heard back yet. Please tell me what you would do in my situation. Go to ER tonight, or PCP in the morning. Thank you!!
  6. Wow!! You look amazing! What an accomplishment in only 2 months. Congrats!
  7. I'll ask my friend. I'm pretty sure it's held at a church (though it isn't sponsored by the church). I'll let you know!
  8. I did the HCG diet and lost 100 lbs. I felt great, had more energy and had to remember to eat. But, I got pregnant in the middle of the VLCD round and that was it. I was starving and pretty much ate whatever I wanted. I gained the 100lbs back plus another 30! My son will be 2 this month and I needed somthing that would be permanent. So, instead of going back to the HCG, I chose the sleeve. For me, I think it will work better in the long run. I don't plan to do the HCG post sleeve either. If you do, good luck, I hope it works!!
  9. Great post, thanks for sharing. I'm trying to get everything ready for the puree stage.
  10. Thanks for posting, I'm going to give it a try!
  11. I've been thinking about you, hope you are doing better.
  12. I'm south of Fort Worth and just heard about a group that meets once a month in Mansfield.
  13. I usually stall or gain a few days before my TOM. Then a few days in and I drop 3 - 4 lbs.
  14. Most stores carry Dreamfields. You can go online to their website and print a $1.00 coupon. They have speghetti, angel hair, elbow, ziti, lasagna, and a few other types. Also online are some great recipe ideas.
  15. I love Dreamfields low carb lasagna noodles. Tastes exactly like regular noodles!
  16. Wow!! You look amazing! Congrats!
  17. Congratulations!! Welcome to the group. Keep us posted.
  18. I went through that phase also. Cleaned the house from top to bottom, pre made a bunch of foods and froze them for the kiddos. Cleaned out all my closets and drawers and cabinets. It was FANTASTIC coming home to a completely clean house! I felt we'll enough to keep up on the dishes, laundry and even started making some new meals. Any chore that requires bending over is what I avoid. Other than that, I haven't had any problems. Today I am a week post op and it doesn't even really bother me to bend over. Good luck!!!
  19. I hope you hear soon! I can't even imagine what you have gone through! It will be worth it in the end! Good luck.
  20. Hi, I am now 6 days post op and am a nursing Mom. I can imagine the mixed emotions you have regarding the surgery / nursing! I spoke with my PCP and my surgeon and both were ok with me nursing and continuing to do so post surgery. Between my pre-op diet and surgery, I am down 32 lbs and I feel fantastic! I did a lot of research to make sure that continuing to breastfeed would be safe for my son and myself. This is a personal decision, that only you and your Dr can make. Good luck, however you decide! Keep me posted.
  21. Good luck!! Let us know how it goes.
  22. Congrats on the sleeve!! My vitals were always normal. Make sure you walk as much as possible, it really helps move the gas. I would take a nap, get up and walk, read, take a nap, and back to walking... Good luck!!
  23. Hi everyone!! I just wanted to wish my fellow January sleevers good luck!! I am 5 days post op and I'm feeling terrific! Since I got home I have felt well enough to cook, clean, do laundry, grocery shop, etc. I'm so thankful to be sleeved. I'm down 32lbs since I started my pre-op diet. I hope everyone who has been sleeved is also feeling great. Good luck to those of you getting sleeved soon. You won't regret it!
