I love my food saver. I buy off brand pint size bags (like $30 for 300 on amazon).
For Soups I'll freeze it in an ice tray or similar. Once frozen, I take a few cubes and vaccume seal them.

So I've always hated having my picture taken (despite being a professional photographer) and dread any picture of me being posted but my wife encouraged me to put this up.
Please disregard the image quality, these were just snapshots. Before pics were taken on Nov 10, 6 days into pre-op diet and 5 days before surgery. After pics were taken today 6 weeks post op (plus a day).
I've been really pleased with the progress based on comments and scale movement but when you look in the mirror at yourself several times a day, it's easy to miss the changes. Seeing these images side by side really surprised me.

Wow, that was very rude and disrespectful. Just because I'm struggling with a pre-op diet doesn't mean I won't be strong enough to handle the post-op diet. There is a HUGE difference between the two, and if you knew anything about the sleeve process, you would understand that. I went from a 3,000 calorie diet to 700 calorie diet overnight, on top of quitting smoking at the same time. I'm a fighter and I'm strong so I'm proud of how far I've come along, regardless of how hard it is.

I started walking a few hours after my surgery. It really helped with the gas and getting back to normal.
I had a rough few days but I felt drastically different on Day Five.
I quit all pain meds on Day Five.
I went grocery shopping on Day Six (about 1 hour) and felt pretty tired afterwards.
I went Christmas Shopping on Day Seven (about 3 hours) and felt okay.
In my personal experience, I feel almost back to normal after just one week

I'm in the hospital two days post-op. Overall I feel okay but i'm having difficulty keeping my liquid pain meds down. I've kept down juice, Water, and a popsicle but I can't seem to handle the oral pain meds so I've vomited three times. I'm hoping to go home tomorrow but I don't know if that will be possible if I can't tolerate the pain meds
Going to bed for the night. I'm hoping for day 3 to be a turn-around day like everyone says. Fingers crossed!

After being on this site for a few months, I've noticed that there are so many different post-op diets given by different doctors. Does anyone know why the phases are different with each surgeon?
Example: My physician suggested that 2 weeks liquid, 2 weeks mushy, 2 weeks soft food, then regular food on an individual basis. However, I've been reading about other people starting the mushy stage on week 1 and eating soft food after week 2.
    What's the deciding factor?

Are you allowed to drink any ready made Protein Drinks? I like EAS carb control shakes..they're pretty cheap, ready to drink and you can get them at walmart..they come in dark choc, choc, strawberry and vanilla. I like them tastewise so much better than the ones I've whipped up with the powder. The other day I added a few drops of peppermint extract to a dark choc one and it tasted like a peppermint patty!

did you surgeon explain the risks of your liver being too large for surgery? although i cheated a few times, it was only with high Protein things, no carbs or real sugar.
i always kept the thought in the back of my mind of my surgery being completely open which scared me into eating good. it is challenging but it is a great boost, i lost 12 pounds on mine alone and it was only for 10 days. i would say continue trying don't give up so easily i am post op 5 days and although i am on liquids, i still want to chew, and eat real food but its all about the will power as well. good luck to you!

im on day seven of pre op liquids.
ive eaten three teaspoons of Peanut Butter some chicken i found in the broth
pudding and one mini candy bar
im not proud but it is what is is. im down 8.5lbs have 8 more to go with 9 days left. ive heard the Peanut Butter isnt terrible bc of hte Protein, and i feel like if i need to eat something thats where i need to go bc at least im getting Protein.< /p>
today i drank Decaf coffee with splenda and sugar free creamora. i drank a small glass of gingerale (my stomach was extremely upset and since i couldnt do cracks i had to do something) a serving of sf lime Jello and a teaspoon of peanut butter....thats it. i cant get down Protein shakes anymore i heave when i try. i gotta figure out something for protein tonight myself.
i hope this makes you feel better. honestly these all liquid diets are unrealistic when youre stomach is regular sized and you are hungry.
im a band to sleeve conversion so ive been thru this before as an added bonus lol
