  1. I have not had my surgery yet it is tentatively scheduled for Feb. 19th, waiting on Ins approval. I have been trying to experiment on making Protein drinks at home. I made one today and would like some opinion's on if the calories, carbs, & sugars are too high. I seriously need to work on scaling down the size because this shake ended up being 40ish ounces. Here's a list of my ingredients: 2c. Ice 1c. frozen mixed berries (strawberry, blueberry, blackberry, pomegranate, raspberry) 1 scoop EAS vanilla Protein powder 1 scoop unflavored Soy protein power 1c Almond Breeze Vanilla Almond milk 2 1/4oz SF Raspberry Davinci Syrup 1/4oz vanilla extract 3/4tsp. banana flavoring 3/4c Water Ninja'd and blended all together This is what I got for Nutrition info for the whole 40oz Calories: 410 Fat: 6.05 Carbs: 37 Fiber: 6 Sugars: 27 Protein: 50 Of course I am not going to drink this at 1 sitting probably take me several hours I only had a big enough cup for 32oz. so I put the rest in the freezer. It ended up a little powdery tasting so I'm thinking I need a little more flavoring like SF syrup or flavored extracts. Any ideas there? Also do I count any of this toward my water intake?? So what is everyone's thoughts on this shake, I'm hoping after sitting a couple hours it wont become disgusting. Thank you in advance for your input and if you have any suggestions for other ways to make drinks I would love to hear them :}
  2. That is alot of progress, I can't wait til I have my 1st NSV, waiting now for approval. You are added to my list of inspirational people on here :} keep sharing your victories.

  4. @stomlin75 did you order that tofu broccoli somewhere or was it something you made at home? I have never tried tofu and I'm one of those one that has always said "no way am I gunna eat that" now im curious. If you have any recipie's you can share that would be awesome. Thanks in advance :}

  6. @nailgirl5464: is that 3/4 cup of mushrooms? are do you mean 3/4 of the package?? Thank you in advance for your help and thank you so much for posting this it sounds yummy and it has in it everything my husband likes too :}
  7. Smith's/Kroger grocery store has it on there health food isle.
  8. I have a Smith's grocery store where I live an I have found the ONLY Greek yogurt I can tolerate is the store brand Kroger Greek Light, they have plain, vanilla and flavored with small chunks of fruit in it. It's lower in sugar than alot out there. I have tried all the "name brands" and can't stand them. Good luck in your search
  9. My Dr. set my surgery date for Feb. 19th, he's sending in for approval. Hoping to know in a couple weeks if approved. I'm trying to think positive but things don't usually go easy or my way with things like this, especially because the Nurse Manager for UHC stated that I need to do 6 month Dr. supervised diet, however in all the info the Dr's office got from UHC says nothing about it. So he's going to submit and we'll see. At least I have everything else done and am ready if I have to do the 6month at least I've already got 3 months done. Keep fingers crossed for me please :}
  10. @Lisa'slosinit~ How many squirts of Mio did you use? I have a bunch of different flavor Mio's so I think i'm going to be trying this :}
  11. @Michelle1977 Can you please share with me your recipe for Chocolate PB2 shake. I have been playing around with it and im not having very good luck getting it to taste right. I don't know if im using too much powder, water or not enough. Im trying to get these things all figured out before surgery so im not struggling to figure out after. Thank you in advance for your help :}
  12. @clk: are you still lactose intolerant? or has it gotten better with time and gone back to just the nausea??
  13. I have not personally used them yet, my best friend had the Gastric Bypass 2 years ago and she was the one who told me about them. She uses several of the products and I have never heard her complain and she must like them to refer them to me. You will have to let me know what you end up trying and your thoughts about it :}
  14. @ yay for me: I was actually just talking to my boss about having VSG the other day and she asked me if I've started to make a Goals or a what I want to change 1st list and I told her "I want to lose enough weight to be able to wear a pair of corduroy pants and not start a fire between my legs when I walk" and we laughed so hard she was crying almost pee'd her pant's and I couldn't believe what I had just said out loud, we work at a clothing store and currently have some corduroy pants and we just crack up every time we see them now. I am really hoping that one day after surgery my dream of corduroy pants will come true.......LOL :}~
  15. I don't know what your sweet tooth craves, whether it just be something sweet or something like a candy bar. I went into my local Vitamin world the other day and was looking at the powders and Protein drinks they have available (because that is the ONLY place in my town other than Smith's grocery store & Wal-mart that has anything I will be needing for surgery) and I ran across these OhYeah bars. They had 4 different bars the one I tried was chocolate Caramel Candies I was surprisingly shocked at how good it tasted and reminded me of "Candy" It has a soft filling with tiny M&M looking candies on top and covered with chocolate. It says "Good Grab right size right choice" (it's a little smaller than a payday bar) It has: 180 Calories, Total fat 9g, Carbs 19g, Sugars 8g, Protein 14g I know calories and sugars are maybe a little high but if you do it once in a while it shouldn't be to bad, I figure with 14g of Protein it makes it ok ;}~ Also I just got the Bariatric Choice Catalog and it has some "candy bar" like Protein Bars. The SF chocolate Dream Protein Bar that looks just like a candy bar says it's similar to a Nestle's crunch bar it has: 160 cal, 10g Protein, 12g fat, 6g carbs, 0 sugar. So these are a couple things im planning on looking into. I hope this helps ya a little bit.
  16. Duh I was looking at the wonder slim bariatric hot cocoa drink. I guess I should have explore a little......lol
  17. This may be a stupid question but can you heat it and make it hot? The directions on the box from the website say: Directions: Place contents of one packet into a large glass, shaker cup or blender. Add 8 ounces of cold Water and stir or shake vigorously until dissolved. Nonfat milk may be substituted for water. I don't know how cold "Hot" chocolate would taste.....lol
  18. Thank you for sharing, I haven't had surgery yet but I have seen several talk about hot chocolate and as cold as it's been lately it sounds very yummy :}
  19. I had never hear of the PB2 either until I saw it on here. I live in a small town with no "health food" stores but I happened to walk down the "healthy" isle of my Smith's Grocery store and they had it. I was shocked to see it there and they had the reg and the chocolate PB2. So before you all pay extra shipping check in your local grocery stores. Good luck all it's a good thing to have on hand if you haven't tried it yet :}
  20. @Bobo, how much SF butterscotch pudding do you put in each shake?Im looking for things to change it up a lil and never thought about putting pudding in it. Thanks in advance for any ideas you can send my way :}
  21. I have seen it at the Sam's club in my city, I can't eat it because too much sodium. The sodium kills my arthritis an sends me into a major flare. If you have a Sam's club or a Costco try there as it should be cheaper for larger bags. Good luck :}
  22. Im interested in the Unjury if you would like me to pm you my info I can let me know how much you would need for shipping. Im in Arizona. Thanks, Katrina
  23. @GeauxForlt what is Franken Yogurt? I Googled it and didn't come up with anything
  24. I don't know if it would help but I have seen foam wedges that you can buy to help you lay at an incline, I am planning to get one soon due to my Restless leg syndrome. It sounds weird but if I sleep partially sitting up my legs arent as bad as when I sleep flat. Good luck and I am so happy to see that you got to go home, you have been in my prayers and now I will pray you stay home an healing comes without any further issues :}
