slimagainsoon got a reaction from danithomas in will the weight come back say in 7 to 10 years?
At my six month check up a few weeks ago, I ask my surgeon could the weight come back. His answer was yes! He said that its important to practice healthy eating habits now. Because after five years if we fall back into unhealthy eating habits that we could gain over half of the weight back. He also said remember more is less. To not skip meals because that would cause a stall to eat something every two hours even if its a stick of cheese. I found out it works, when I eat more often, small portions because that's all I can tolerate that I do lose.

It sounds like stomach virus! I went through the same thing last week. I just had to let it run it's course and took nause meds left over from surgery. Minds only lasted 24 hrs. I hope you feel better real soon. If not, go to doctor.

Thanks Ann for your support. Yes I've been posting about this. I think 3 post since my husband died. Yes, it is ultimately up to me. I was hoping to get some advice from the veterans about food and what they are eating this far out. I'm 2 1/2 years out so things are different with my body than it is with yours since you just had surgery in August and are still in the "honeymoon" phase. I did lose a 130 pounds. Tragedy in someones life especially since I watched my spouse suffer and be ate up by cancer can do this to someone. I wasn't asking about my mental state. Things change when you are further out. But thanks again for taking your time to post and tell me this. I appreciate it. I thought the vets forum was for people that are one year out and more? I was asking for help with the types of food and meal plans.
You seem a little judgemental. I wouldn't be that way If I were you. It is easier to gain this far out.

I have used the tea for several years when I needed to 'move things along.' How strong did you make the tea? If you used one teabag and let it sit for 15 minutes or so before drinking it, you might have to get up early tomorrow morning to empty out. If you drank it hot without letting it sit at all you really shouldn't have much of a problem. If you used more than one teabag or you let it sit for 20 minutes or more you might get ready for a lot of gas and cramps and (ahem) some explosive clearing out of your entire intestines - large and small. I don't know about drinking it when you are not blocked up. It truly does work.

RJ - never doubt that you belong here. Things members say resonate with you. Things you say resonate with other members. You. Belong. Here. You are a complication survivor but that isn't all you are. You don't let it define you but you use it to support and educate others. Your voice is strong - not just the voice you use to communicate with us, but your inner voice too. When it is at odds with what others are saying, listen to it. ((Hugs to you))

I got my sleeve Dec 3, 2012. Wow time flies. Yes there is pain but if you have children, it's like that. It hurt but it's so worth it. Everyone pain tolerance is different. Some feel little some feel a lot, some feel none. So don't worry, before you know it you will be on your road to recovery and focusing on menus and shopping lol. I started out 226 @ 5'6. Now I am 150. Soooo happy. Wishing you the best and remember its a tool we still need to eat healthy and exercise. I don't exercise much. I walk is basically my exercise. Everyone is different. Welcome to the losers bench!

My boobs are much smaller, which I am happy about -- I hope they continue to shrink! I hate having big breasts! And my butt is basically non-existent, which does make me a little sad. It's hard fo find pants that fit. But still, overall, I am in love with my new body in a way that I never was when I was super morbidly obese. And most importantly, my health is basically perfect now. I'll take perfect health and a missing butt any day! Not to mention all the fun stuff like with a missing butt, I can now fit into one airline seat, restaurant booths, through stadium turnstiles, etc. etc.

Gone and Gone and Good Riddance! In fact, just yesterday I was told I look like a prepubescent boy. Made me laugh, because it's true. I have awesome lean muscle tone in my arms, back, and abdomen and no boobs, butt or hips. And I'm thrilled. The only bad part is the loose, wrinkly skin that covers my toned muscles on my butt and thighs. But finding clothes that fit is so easy and if it weren't for all the loose skin where my boobs used to be, I probably wouldn't even need the A cup bra I'm in now ( formerly DD)
I had an endometrial ablation several years ago, and I don't miss my "curves" any more than I miss my period!

How bad it will be depends on what your body used to look like at a normal weight. If you drop enough that you are close to that weight, your boobs will likely be around that same pre-fat size.......just deflated, or having less volume / fullness. If you had ass before, it will shrink relative to the rest of you, but your genetics will still shine through.
Either way, the best advice I can give you is to do weight training. No matter where you start or what your genetic makeup is, weights can create a new you. Do lots of squats and lunges with heavy weights, and you will marvel at the changes. Lean muscle will also help loose skin look better. I don't know about you, but I want to look fit and trim, not skinny. I like having curves.

    I was sleeved 9/8/14.
I didn't experience gas pain, But I did have incision pain and it was managed well in the hospital.
After I was released the next day, Pain was minimal but still present they sent me home with pain meds which helped. You aren't able to feel the stomach inside that's been cut and it hasn't been painful to drink, Since day 2 I've been getting all my liquids and Protein in no issue.
Honestly, Not nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be.

I was sore for 3-4 days but after that I was at about a 2 for pain. I couldn't stand the liquid pain killer they prescribed so I went without and it wasn't bad. Now I'm sure everyone has different experiences. I went from a band to a sleeve and they did mention my band came out really easy. I had had it since 2005. The surgeon said that it was the easiest band he's had to remove so that could mean the difference in my pain level. Anxiety is a given going into this. I'm so proud of myself for staying the course and going through with it because I am so happy with the results! I've lost 25 lbs as of today and the hard part (like getting use to the completely different eating habits) is getting so much easier during my 2nd month. Try and spend less time worrying about how you'll feel and try and prepare for the big day. I know, easier said than done right? To get your mind off it, go out and buy your sugar free liquids, look up some tips and recipes, maybe buy a few books or new pair of exercise shoes and try focusing more on the vast upcoming changes to your life (positive changes by the way). I sincerely hope all goes well. Healthy regards!

The dr said i did so well bc i had taken it upon myself to start my liquid diet two weeks prior vs 7 days....I'm totally ready for this new journey! My stomach was 40 oz now its 8...i was told not to eat more than 4 oz at a time....it maybe rough at first but well worth it at the end! Good luck!

Going from a band to a sleeve on OCT 6th and I am starting to freak out a bit. My main reason for doing the band in 09 was that NO CUTTING was being done other than lapascropicaly. Soooooo anxious about what the pain factor will be in regards to being sleeved? The idea of my stomach being CUT and removed to 20% is hard to comprehend. Truth?? Can you feel your stomach afterwards? Can you feel the staples? Does it hurt to take your first drink? Pain on a scale from 1-10? Gas Pain? What was worse? Fearing what pain I will be in post op
