  1. I'm seeing Dr. Seltzer at IU North in Carmel, I think there just down the road from each other.
  2. I was told you have to get B shots or under tongue cause your body won't use it right after surgery. swallowing wont do it, it has to go directly into blood stream. That's what my doc office said.
  3. I've lost 27 lbs so far on the liver diet. 3 months.
  4. My doc. Told me to use Biotin, for skin, hair and nails. This diet is killing my beautiful nails, which was what I considered my most beautiful area. Doc said Biotin so I just started using it. Maybe it will help you too.
  5. I was told to take it for my nails, pre-op diet is making my nails split
  6. Gotta try both ideas, ty
  7. I thought vit B has to be under tongue or in a shot after surgery. Was told because it needs to go into the blood stream
  8. I had to give myself shots for a different surgery, it was very helpful. Make sure you anesthesia doc knows your concerns and can give you something in your I V. Be careful cause they do slow your digestion.
  9. I purchased some UnJury chicken soup, it said not to use hot water. Yak, Luke warm soup is not appealing. Then I tried there strawberry shake, again temperature sensitive. If you can't ice it what's the use? They all seemed to clump no matter what I did, in coffee it was extremely gross. Any ideas?
  10. PdxMan, how does the bullet work for meat? Been considering getting one.
  11. Lol, you all are too funny. I'm just happy to have a Hubby to call mine. Married 34+ years, it's all good.
  12. All is well and being sent off to the insurance dept. for approval. Surgeon said they may have trouble getting in before end of the year. He can do it but may not have an operating room available, I told him to,just do it in the hall. Lol. He was impressed with my weight loss, that made me happy. I can even wear a smaller size underwear, yeehoo. I tried some of that UnJury shake stuff and it made me gag, the chocolate wasn't so bad but every thing else I tried was awful. Going on a quest to find something better. Stay tuned, it's getting closer!
  13. I sure hope not

For those of you who have the sleeve, have you gotten the flu and was it different?
  15. I was just so glad to be able to wipe with out being a contortionist. Lol
  16. I feel so blessed, my Doc was the one who recommended me getting surgery. I assume a pcp is your doctor.

Well I joined Curves last week. I've gone before but lacked motivation. This time I have a new attitude and am motivated. The local Curves has a new owner and sure makes it more enjoyable. It just feels good to get moving and not sleep all the time.
  18. It seem that a lot of sleevers are in their 30's and 40's. I'm in my 50's and wanted to hear from our age group on healing and just getting around. I know I feel so much better just taking off 27lbs and haven't been sleeved yet. So if you are over 50 and have some input, please share it.
  19. Believe it or not, lettuce is extremely hard on your digestive system. My pancreas was removed except for the head in 1993 and I have a really hard time with salads. Some may be able to tolerate it but not many I know of. I can do iceberg pretty well now but romaine is still a problem.
  20. I'm doing the major water drinking but find I'm up all night peeing. Will that ever get better?
  21. I am really anxious to get the surgery done, I'm not good on patience and I won't pray for it. Lol. I have noticed when I'm cleaning dishes, I catch myself before I lick the spoon. Or when my grand daughter leaves a fish stick on her plate to not pop it in my mouth. That must be the mindless eating they keep talking about. This must have to be practiced, but thankfully I've been able to catch myself before its too late. No more licking the knife of peanut butter. Lol
  22. I purchased the unjury soup but it said to use warm water not hot. I just can't stand warm soup, it has to be hot. All the packets have a certain temp to keep it at. Not sure I like this
  23. They have to cut me open, one long cut straight down. Too much scar tissue to do the lapo.
  24. So glad that's over with, the therapist was so nice. He said all is good, no problem areas, so now I'm scheduled for my final surgeon appt on Nov 14th. Not looking forward to getting cut open but ready to get on with it.
  25. Thank you for sharing this, I wonder if she had skin removed? Amazing person
