  1. Both my experiences with anesthesia ended with me waking up okay and puking. But the 1st time I was 4 years old, having my adenoids removed. The 2nd time was 5 years ago and 100+ lbs lighter sans sleep apnea, for my gall bladder. Same results as adenoids. Wake and puke. I'm trying to lose as much weight as possible between now and 3/11/13 to lower my BMI and my risks. I'm using Idealshape meal supplements. An organic cleanse. A Multivitamin. And tons of salad, veggies, Greek yogurt, fruit, lean meats, and the occasional whole grains. Kicking up my activity level. I've been a nonsmoker for almost 7 years and I'm eliminating alcohol and caffeine going forward. I am, in all seriousness, a little OCD with an emphasis on the "O". I don't know what else to do to improve my health and decrease my risks. Amanda Sexton
  2. I am scared almost to the point of panic regarding general anesthesia. Terrified I will never wake up. Amanda Rae
  3. Not yet. It's a long list so I'm thinking it may take a lil longer. I am going to resend the list tomorrow if I haven't heard back. She's answered other easier questions in the mean time so I'm thinking it is because the list is long and detailed. Amanda Rae
  4. Right?! My brain has just about 1 track! Amanda Rae
  5. I'm trying to drop about 50 lbs preop to lower my BMI which lowers my risk and my price. I finally found a Greek yogurt I like. Dannon Light and Fit. 12g of Protein and 80 calories. I think I will rely on it postoperative to ensure I get my protein, once my sleeve can handle it. Amanda Rae
  6. They said they did. When Dr. Lopez approved my surgery. I just emailed Ronda again to double confirm. Making my deposit 11/16 with my bonus check! :-) Amanda Rae Amanda Rae
  7. I'm booked for Dr Lopez over Spring Break on 3/11. I would love to hear how about your experience if you don't mind sharing. Good luck! Amanda Rae
  8. I'm going through A Lighter Me as well but I'm using Dr Lopez/Osuna, as Dr Lopez specializes in higher BMI due the extra risk. I'm excited and scared. Ronda has been slower to answer the tougher questions as they probably take more time to gather the data and pretty speedy on the easier questions. Amanda Rae
  9. I'm going then too... But wait. You already knew that! :-) Amanda Rae
  10. Worry not Sleeve Buddy! I have made up my mind to do this. Amanda Rae
  11. ... laid in bed constantly wondering and worrying about the decision to have WLS and adding to it leaving the country to do it... wishing your brain would SHUT UP and let you sleep? Amanda Rae
  12. I want to see it. I think it would be cool! Amanda Rae
  13. Scary and exciting! Amanda Rae
  14. I was going to go alone but my mom volunteered to join me. I am glad to have the support but I was okay to go alone. I'm getting sleeved by Dr. Lopez through A Lighter Me in March 2013, over Spring Break. Amanda Rae
  15. Fattitude. The only acceptable form of discrimination in America. Amanda Rae
  16. My uncle, who was pushing 500lbs had the sleeve, and my aunt who was over 300lbs had RNY. He seemed to "bounce back" faster postoperative. Amanda Rae
  17. Best of luck and hooray for your friend. I hope you'll share your experience with those of us that are waiting excitedly/anxiously. Amanda Rae
  18. Best of luck. What are your preop diet guidelines? May I ask if you are high BMI? I am. 57 BMI, which is my main reason for using Dr. Lopez. Amanda Rae
