  1. Who out there has sleep apnea and went to Mexico for surgery... Or is going to Mexico. How was your sleep apnea handled? Have you addressed it with the surgeon? I'm nervous about being knocked out! Amanda Rae
  2. Of course I suffer eating it now, so I doubt it will be better then!
  3. Knowing me like I do, I'd have to pass all together on buffet but I do enjoy making Asian cuisine at home. Amanda Rae
  4. Well I'm not looking to be skinny! Just healthy... Lol! And yes, I will get over it. I'd probably stay away completely. I don't want to risk overeating... Chinese coming back up is FOUL! Amanda Rae
  5. I'm going to miss it, post op. Amanda Rae
  6. We have to make the decision that is best for us. No matter which surgeon someone chooses I hope they are confident with their choice and have an amazing experience, a speedy recovery, and a long healthy, and happy life. Please continue to share your experiences. It feels good to share a connection with others going through the same experiences I am. Sort of makes us kindred. Amanda Rae
  7. Hey all, The site I posted was just for informational purposes that I came across on my own research. I cannot attest to its accuracy or sources. Take it for what it is. Info on the Internet. Honestly, patient experiences I hear/read from all of you guys are so much more helpful. Know that we taking a risk having WLS. Gather data. Talk to your surgical team pre payment, your PCP, and others who've done it. Make a decision you're comfortable with. Amanda Rae
  8. Exactly. That's why I'm waiting until after 12/21. Don't want to spend needlessly if the world is going to end. Amanda Rae
  9. Experiences? Stories? Feedback? They're my choice at this point but real people sharing real experiences help so much. Thanx! Amanda Rae
  10. I'm glad you're healing well! Best of luck on your recovery and weight loss journey. Amanda Rae
  11. You're welcome! The more knowledge you have, the more ease you will feel in your decision. No matter who you choose. Amanda Rae
  12. http://www.mexicobariatricsurgeons.com/ Here is the link to reviews. I found it in my own research. Take it with a grain of salt... I have no idea how accurate all the data is or how the research was done Amanda Rae "You can never be certain about the authenticity of quotes on the Internet." Abraham Lincoln
  13. I came across a lot of the same data about Dr Kelly. He was my number one choice until the data unearthed about multiple hospitals refusing him access and not using the drain. Not gossiping here, just reporting my research findings. I found a site that claimed no affiliation reviewing a variety of WLS surgeons. I will post the link in a moment. Don't take the info as gospel. Just some potential data... Amanda Rae
  14. I went to my PCP yesterday for some medical professional feedback. He is supportive. He is going to check the booking agency I'm using and their surgeries. He said he will definitely treat me post op and was surprised asked. I explained I've read a few patients saying their PCP refused care if they went out of the country for surgery. Also he gave me a flu shot, tetanus shot, and referred me for the Hep A series b4 I leave the country for medical treatment. What a great doc! Amanda Rae
  15. Also, good news. Hubby and I are trying to reconcile and is supportive of my choice. I told him about my sleeve buddy. Lol! You can never have too much support Amanda Rae
  16. Most def! Check out A Lighter Me. I'm pleased so far. Amanda Rae
  17. I'm going through some personal set backs myself. But that makes me so much more determined... My marriage has abruptly ended putting an unexpected financial strain on me. But I have got to get this done!!! My mom is going to pay for my airfare as a show of support. Round trip quote thru Hotwire.com is $395. I will handle the rest even if I have to take it out of my 401K. Ensuring that I live to see retirement seems a great investment! I haven't had any pressure from A Lighter Me. They know when I want the surgery and are working to help me get the best deal possible. $4500 not including airfare. If you end up going the same time we could be Sleeve Buddies! Amanda Rae Ps. I had a childhood friend named Amanda Renee. :-)
  18. I was going to go through Trish with Dr. Ponce de Leon but switched to A Lighter Me, Dr. Alejandro Lopez and his wife as my surgeon. Excellent reviews and slightly less expensive. I plan to go on March 11th while I am on Spring Break from school.
