I was sleeved on the 6th. I, too, have no appetite. I try and drink one syntax nectar Protein Drink (24 grams of protein) and at least 20-36 Ozs. Of Water. This is only half of what I am supposed to drink, but its a start! My worst is trying to get down 2 multi Vitamins...they are nasty! My favorite flavor of the Protein is roadside lemonade....really good.
Walking as much as I can. All in all things aren't too bad! I have no regrets and am also looking forward to a great 2013! It's going to be our year! Hang in there...we can do it!

Surgery went perfectly. I was discharged on Friday. Each day post-op I feel better. My only issue is I have no appetite and am struggling to get my Protein in. Still having some gas cramps also which more activities should cure. I'm so excited that the scary part is past me. I looking forward to a get summer next year with a whole new wardrobe and 200 percent more confidence to boot!

So I was thinking... what do you guys think of starting a November sleevers post op thread?? That way we can still motivate and support each other....

Sunfunmash: that nutritionist needs to find a new job! Ridiculous! My nutritionist was so positive. What a jerk! Maybe she's jealous!

My date is November 7th. I just got it final today. I am 330 and bigger than I ever have been..I hope I drop fast..I'm so unhappy at this weight..I've always been big and it never bothered me too much..but at this weight I feel it everyday and don't feel comfortable..I am so exited to he exited about getting ready again

HI -- I am scheduled for Nov. 13 -- just got approved and very excited. For the past several months it was all about testing, doctor appointments urging people to submit the necessary documentation. But now that that is all over the reality is setting in and I'm focusing a bit more on the fact that I have signed up to have 70% of an internal organ lobbed off! In just a few weeks! Wait -- maybe there is still a chance I do this with diet and exercise. Can't I just try one more time? And then I get a glimpse of myself in the mirror and realize that those kind of solutions simply don't make sense for me anymore. This is the right track. I don't think I'm so different than all of you who have responded here -- we have the same frustrations, goals, fears, excitement and hopefully will have the same huge successes. (I think the biggest difference is that I have never written in a blog and this site is completely overwhelming! I don't know where to begin or how to find anything!) I'm really glad I found you "Novembers". If I can continue to find this string I will look forward to hearing about your journeys and sharing my own. The best of luck to us all!!!

I am scheduled for 11/13! I am 44 and an RN from the Jersey Shore. I have 3 fabulous kids, 9 and twins that are 6 and a totally supportive husband. The one thing in my life I have no control over is my weight. I love food, love to eat and need the "restrictiveness" of the sleeve to control my eating. I was lap banded in 2006 and only lost about 80lbs. Never had real restriction. Countless fills, denial, frustration. Finally had it out in 2011 and here I am.
I am looking forward to sharing this journey with all of you. I have a lot of weight to lose and am so looking forward to more energy and living my life the way I really want to.

I was self pay. On my Cigna plan wls was not a covered benefit. I am glad I had it done.

Cigna didn't really give me any problems. They just wanted a letter from my PCP, the nutritionist and the psych evaluation.
It is the surgeon's office that is driving me up the wall.

I hope all works out for everyone...just to make you all feel a little better--at least you have the chance to get approval and coverage...my insurance (State of Louisiana) does not even consider coverage of bariatric surgery, so I will be paying myself for the entire process

This concerns me as I also have Cigna -- the surgeon's office did tell me that they can be difficult to deal with. The office will fax over information to Cigna and they say they never received it. I have a tentative date of November 7th -- so I will keep on top of the insurance company. Thanks!!

I have Cigna Open Access too and I was approved in 5 days on the first try. I would call and demand to speak to a supervisor to understand what is taking so long. Good Luck!

I too have Cigna. There was a glich initially but then the approval was rather quick. I agree that it depends on the type of plan but 30 days seems a bit too long. Besides my Surgeon's office would call as well.
I didn't start calling until we were trying to get a flight for my mom to be here. So call Sandsmom

I have Cigna Open Access Plus too, and was approved in 5 days also. I called everyday, and called my surgeon's office to tell them when I was approved. Call everyday!

I have cigna open access plus and I was approved in 5 days. I called everyday to make sure. I would suggest that. I am proof they do approve it. Be persistent and good Luck!!!

Not what I really want to hear since I have Cigna. I still have 3 more months before I have to start worrying about this but I rather hear good things about Cigna.

What plan under Cigna do you have? I was told with Open Access, they had 5 days after going to medical review to make a decision, if all the requirements were met. You need to call everyday! I knew that I was approved before my surgeon's office, and the letter didn't come until the following week. Call everyday, so you'll be the first to know. It doesn't matter that you're bothering them, that's their job as reps. Also, if you have a pre-op diet, start it so that if you get last minute approval, you can still go on the 25th.

Wondering how it is going? I too have a date for 9/25 and still no confirmation from Cigna. I have done all my pats and pre op visits are this week. I have taken the week off, so has my husband. It HAS to happen on the 25th.
I have not called the insurance myself...should I?
