Appetite Suppressant, anyone?
Before you look into appetite suppressants you might want to try upping your protein. Protein helps with hunger . I don't know what your eating habits were after surgery and now but also try eating more often. I eat every 3 hours and on avg. about 5 times a day. My body no knows tat it will get food every 3 hours and I don't start to feel hungry unless I go over the 3-4 hour mark. Some people eat even 6 times a day. I am not a doctor so I would ask your doctor about this before doing anything. But I feel if you get more protein in and have a fixed eating schedule you will see a difference.

Is it normal to gain?
I can be a few things and yes I have gained weight then lost it in a week. It could be you are not getting enough water in and your body is holding on to whatever can. It could also be that you're gaining muscle. been stuck at the same weight for about 2 weeks now but when I went to the doctors my BMI is down and muscle was up. So everything is still going great. I rather be 255lbs with muscle than 255lbs with fat.

Surgery before starting grad school
After the first 3 weeks I felt fine and at the 4 week mark was cleared to work out. It's all about how you are going to feel. For me I dont see the issue in doing it few weeks before school.

I suck...
sorry about the liquid diet. I didnt have to do one after I lost 20lbs before hand. The doctor just said no liquid diet and told me to eat whatever I want before 10pm the day before surgery. That moring I want to IHOP had all you can eat pancakes. then that night I had pizza and hot wings. After surgery I followed everything to a T. in 4 months I lost 85lbs a total of 105lbs. So just because you cheat doesnt mean anyhting in my eyes.

I suck...
Some habbits are hard to break. Some people cant just turn it off when they need to. If I could just turn off my cravings and feeling hungry all the time I would have just done it and never had surgery. Cutting out soda was like a mini detox for me. I was moody had bad head aches wasnt very nice to be around. After about 2 weeks I was fine havent thought about soda since. My biggest habbit was eating late at night because I work nights. I would get off around 1am and stop at mcdonnalds because i was to tired to go home and cook. I could eat a whole pizza and a foot long sub and be hungry 30mins to a hour later. My stomach was streched out that my doctor said it was about 4 times bigger then a normal stomach.

I suck...
yes its a big plus. all the extra calories and sugar in soda you are not drinking now. Just cutting that out you will lose weight. Next cut out some fast food try only eating fast food maybe 2 days a week. slowly work you way into it. Quitting everything at once is harder then limiting a little bit at a time to break your habbits.

I suck...
Calm down. Cheating is fine just stick to it the best you can right now. I cheated the whole time during mine but was able to lose 20lbs just from not drinking soda. After surgery is when you need to control what you eat and its easier with a smaller stomach. Relax just have a cheat day or two. Eat good mon-fri and cheat sat and sunday or something like that. Just cut out small things like soda and big Snacks.

Did I really do the right thing?
If your doctor doesnt know whats going on you need to tell him. If he does and hes not helping in any way you need to go some where where you can be looked at.

So I was at the gym today and I stopped and talked to one of the trainers that about what I should drink during a workout. Right now I drink Isopure during my workouts. He said I should drink BCAA powder. Does anyone use this or know anything about it? Thanks, John

What's wrong with me?
Everyone gets some pre game jitters. The surgery will go fine you won't feel a thing since you will be sleeping. When you wake up you might be a little panicky. I was when I woke and then I seen someone I knew. Then its all downhill from there. You will be in a little pain but nothing major. The give you pain meds. I had a happy button that used every chance I got because it was awesome. The worst part for me was drinking this stuff so they could do a xray of the stomach for leaks. That stuff was nasty. You will be fine just relax.

Pull ups... what is a realistic time line?
I am in the same boat. never could do one but its one of the things I want to do. I am at the gym every day lifting or running. The pull down mechine I can do about 150 4 or 5 times. So I figure if I can do 200 1 time when I get to 200lbs I should be able to do one. right? I dont know start hitting the weights.

Explaining your weight loss
I am open about my surgery as well. I don't see the point of hiding it. I feel like if you hide something you're ashamed of it. If people don't like it screw the you did it for you not them. If they are your friends they won't care. they might have questions but everyone does.

Finally in the 100s
Awesome job. I am 4 months out and started at 360lbs. I am down to 255lbs. I already see the skin in my arms and in my thighs getting bad. I started using palmers cocoa butter everyday after I shower to try to head this off as much as I can. I am also at the gym every day or running. After my race in July thinking of start insanity workout. I was told you have to give your skin at least a year to shrink after a year what you have is what you have. We either have to deal with it or have surgery. I dont mind he arms if I can build muscle to fill it in. But my legs and stomach will be a different story. Good luck and keep it up.
