  1. When I was sleeved my youngest daughter was 14 months and I asked my surgeon specifically about picking her up. She said it was ok as long as I had her come up to me and held her tight against myself as if she was part if my body, but not to bend and pick her up. I tried not to pick her up as much as possible but when I needed to this worked well. My incisions healed well. You may want to ask you surgeon about this ...?
  2. I work in surgery (nurse) and our hospital has a Davinci robot that we use for many types laparoscopic surgeries. The advantage of the robot is definately increased dexterity and maneuverablity especially in hard to get to areas... The surgeon sits separate from the sterile field and controls the robot... the surgeon still is the one controlling the movements, so, like any surgery the outcome ultimately is still dependent on the skill of the surgeon and their team
  3. Sleeved 10/10 SW 268 DOS 246 CW 217 51 down so far :-) I am feeling great! So thankful to not feel hungry all the time... I mainly focus on getting my protein (trying to not drink protein drinks any more Bleh!) and water in and staying under 800 calories...
  4. Wow great job! I can totally see the difference! And let the count down begin 3...2...1!
  5. I was sleeved on 10/10/12 and would love to have more MFP friends my name is coolmoocow Thanks!
  6. I miss seeing you on MFP did you ever get the phone thing worked out? Did you start a new account?
  7. Yeah! I am so happy for you!
  8. My Dr. mentioned that might happen. She said it's ok and just trim the part that is sticking out
  9. I think I survived without food funerals by telling myself when ever I had a strong craving that this would not be the last time I would eat that food. I just won't be eating it right now. I don't plan on going around eating potato chips and other such food often, but, when I reach goal if I have a strong urge for chip I will have one or two (only after my protein and veggies.)
  10. That's hilarious! Just imaging myself "stashing" my little liquor bottles around occasionally sipping alittle under my mask during a case! That would go over great!
  11. Yum! I am only on full liquids and I should not have looked! I have been craving "real food" protein the most
  12. Ok, this maybe a stupid question but how is having a chunky soup different than a small amount of water while you are eating? Both are soft ground up foods with liquid...
  13. Ha! I love it! You should have been an OR nurse... You should hear our diner conversations So I was sleeved on 10/10 ( doing great) but I never had endoscopy. Do your surgeons do these on every pt or only ones with certain pre-existing conditions?
  14. Or vampire teeth when anestesia asks to look in your mouth!
  15. Lol... I work in surgery and a few of our more supersticious staff believe there are ghosts haunting our ORs! I have never experienced anything but I guess you never know...
  16. Thrilled for you and your husband! Congrats and god bless your new little one!
