  1. Yes, one of my first and best NSV!
  2. Ok, I know this sounds goofy but my water intake has a lot to do with the container I put it in (mind game?) It is a lot more manageable to drink 3 24oz bottles than 4 16oz. Also the type of bottle material and opening makes a difference now that I am able to drink more than sips again. Also alittle lemon, lime, mio or Crystal Light makes drinking a lot easier :-) I try to get 24oz between each meal and at the end of the day...maybe try switching things up?
  3. Hehehe I love it! So I am a surgical nurse and you will notice that when you lie flat on the bed our breast will kinda roll out instead of down, and the highest incision they would make for an abdominal surgery would still have to be under the rib cage. Also the drapes help consolidate the area. I have not had to tape anyones breasts back yet (altough this is probaby what we would do) but there is a first time for everything I suppose!
  4. I do 60g or more of protein 64oz or more of water for vitamins I take -1 Centrum chewable, 2 chewable calcium, subligual b12, biotin and weekly vitamin D I try to stay between 700-800cals a day I was sleved on 10/10/12 Sw 268 Dos246 Cw 197 This makes my average alittle over 3lbs a week since surgery :-) The thing I wish did more of is exercising... someday I will fit it in to my schedule, but at least I am active with my lifestyle :-) I would love to hear what others are doing :-)
  5. I hated protein shakes! One of the only ones I could stand was Pumkin pie flavored. I added 1/3 cup canned pumpkin, 1 cup milk, some pumpkin pie spice and a scoop/ pack of vanilla protein powder (you could also add splenda or vanilla extract to taste) This was not too sweet and really hid the nasty protein flavor :-) I am nearly 4 months out now and I have been eating all my protein for some time now so don't worry this will end someday :-)
  6. Super excited hitting onederland today! Sw 268 Dos 246 Cw 198.8!!! Dos 10/10/12 5'4" 31 yo
  7. Thanks for the info :-) I can wait to go now !
  8. I can't eat cottage cheese either :-X I have tried it lots of different ways. What I do like though is ricotta cheese and it has a good amount of protein too :-) I will eat it with pasta sauce, pesto, or a little splenda and the flavor of your choice (lemon or lime zest, vanilla or almond extract and espresso powder are some I use) I have also made it with a little crystal lite powder in a pinch and it was pretty good!
  9. One of my favorite snacks is a 1/2 apple and slice of (Tillamook) cheddar cheese... yummy!
  10. Tiliapia is a great inexpensive fish. I just wrap a fillet in tin foil with some oil based salad dressing and bake it at 350 for 15-20. Yummy :-)
  11. Lol! Been there done that!
  12. This one "literally" makes my ears bleed! Lol. Another one that bothers me is prostrate instead of prostate. I am guilty of of pronouncing Don vs. Dawn wrong. Honestly, I can't even hear the difference ; -)
  13. jerky, turkey meat balls, chicken nuggets, hot wings, yogurt (carbs really vary from brand to brand on all of these so be careful), sliced cheddar and an apple, shrimp, string cheese, luch meat/cheese rollups, hard boiled eggs... I stick most of these things in sandwich bags as I am running out the door to some event such is the life of a mother of 4
  14. Yes, we definitely have this it is called informed consent... the problem is when people hear what they want to hear and have a "it will never happen to me" attitude. (And thankfully it won't to most)
  15. I believe anytime they do laparoscopic surgery they intubate
  16. Sleeved 10/10/12 Sw 268 Dos 246 Cw 209! Goal 130

  20. I am glad to hear things are looking up our Christmas was nice and I was able to eat small amounts of everything I wanted and still managed to drop lbs so there is something to look forward to! I am going to try to post my first before and after for you later today. Hopefully I can figure it out?!? My sw was 268 and I was 209 today I hope you are able to celebrate a late Christmas with your family I really liked the pumpkin pie protein shakes, they were alittle like a burgerville pumpkin milkshake very wintery salpal and i were talking yesterday and when you are up and about again we would love to get together sometime, maybe have an Oregon vst get together
  21. I am sooooo sorry to hear about your leak! I just looked back at your posts and it makes me so sad I am glad you caught it early though and are able to go home now and be with your family! I hope everything is smooth sailing from now on. Keep us posted!
  22. Coolmoocow on MFP add me, I love getting food ideas!
  23. Congrats! What a precious gift and beautiful suprise I am glad your body is taking the pregnancy so well
  24. The first thing I remember after surgery (Versed is great at causing amnesia so I could have been awake much earlier than this) was wakeing up in recovery room just before they took me back to my room and the nurse saying " your O2 saturation seems to be ok now so we are going to take you back to your room." I was so weak I felt like I couldn't even open my eyes. When I get back to my room I find out I was in recovery for 4 1/2 hours! I still felt very weak (ie not able to move my hand) for several hours after surgery. Since this is not a typical reaction I intend to get a copy of my record and see what happened I recovery... Who knows, maybe I had a reaction to the muscle relaxants or I am just a light weight LOL
  25. Definately make sure both proceedures are on the consent you sign and you OR nurse/staff verifies this with you prior to surgery I would do both proceedures at once. Two birds with one stone. The surgeries are techinally similar and near each other anatomically. Your recovery should be about the same... Better than getting to do it all over again I had an umbellical hernia repair at the same time as my sleeve and am glad I did, although the pain from this was different than for my sleeve
