So in here at my day long visit at the hospital and i learned my surgeon will be performing my procedure (sleeve) with a Robot!!! I don't know how to feel. I love electronics and technology but a robot idk!!! Has anyone had this procedure done with a robot????

I thought all the surgeon's do the procedure with a robot...

I know several people who have had the procedure done with the robot and they have had AMAZING results. The robot avoids human error. You will do awesome! Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Have you ever seen Terminator? First it's surgery, next they'll take over the world!! LOL

The robots do a great job. However, they aren't all surgeons preferred choice because you typically have to be under 30 +/- minutes longer, and the costs are much higher than a human surgeon. I'm sure it will go great!

I work in surgery (nurse) and our hospital has a Davinci robot that we use for many types laparoscopic surgeries. The advantage of the robot is definately increased dexterity and maneuverablity especially in hard to get to areas... The surgeon sits separate from the sterile field and controls the robot... the surgeon still is the one controlling the movements, so, like any surgery the outcome ultimately is still dependent on the skill of the surgeon and their team
