  1. Keep swimming...So much more to come!
  2. This is a great idea! It has not been a huge day to day problem in my house, but there are days that I just want "something" and this might help. I do hear what everyone is saying. I can only imagine how hard it is to hear that stuff all the time. The only one that tells me that stuff is me! My sister had bypass at least 17 years ago and has gained all of the weight plus more back. I have not even told her or others in my family because I don't want the judgment (my mom, husband, and select friends know). I had a lot of hesitation is this because of what my sister did. I am not her and she is NOT me! You are right! You are not your sister. First thing first is that you admit you are a food addict. Second you fix your brain. Learn why you are a food addict and what brought you to this decision. Then look for the triggers that cause you to eat the wrong things. It is all about retraining your thinking about food. Learning that it is nourishment for your body nothing more. Finding other things to replace that dependency with other positive things. Log the NSV and say something nice about yourself every day. And look forward to a happier healthier you. you deserve it. Take this miracle and run with it to see the girl you really are inside without hiding behind weight...It is not easy but the rewards are endless.......
  3. You really need to update your stats for us hun! Congrats on the loss and the 3:30 am. I get that! Been there done that too.. Exciting eh!!!! Congrats!
  4. I have my own cupboard for my food that is away from my hubbies junk food. He goes there and I go to my cupboard for Snacks.... Eating at a meal, well you can pretty much eat what you want.....Just make sure the dense Protein goes in first...I am sure you know the drill...... You got this.......
  5. Hey that is great that you are tough as nails...And as a compliment..I see your point. I was just worried that you were not being kind to yourself. We take one abuse and turn it into another some times. Or we tend to insult ourselves before someone else gets the chance. It is all part of the brain retraining we go through.... I am so happy to see such strength and zeal for the new you that is going to get there and be there for life....All the best to you. You got this....But we are here if you need us anytime.........
  6. I would have a CT scan done....They can see what is going on when they do one of those..Trust me i have had plenty lately because of pain in my left side... Better to be safe then sorry. I say! And by the way..Stop the self degrading name calling..There are others on this forum who weighed in at more then you and they may take it personally that you are calling yourself names.....K Your a human being who is fighting the same fight as the rest of us. Be kind to yourself and remember that self abuse is self sabotage.....Keep yourself positive...As I think you are in it to win it!
  7. No sorry there is no benefit to being a closet eater....This is your life now. you are the leader of your own destiny and what you do with your body and life. If you are made to feel bad for how much you eat. Little or more because today you actually have a bit of an appetite is not their concern it is yours. Would they want you to start to comment on their food intake or habit of eating a little bit....Hang it and hang them...This is you and even though your brain is working hard to change it will always be an up hill battle to maintain our new you.... Please for your own well being..Tell them to buzz off and be the person you know you are. You had to be some strong lady to do this in the first place.....Stand up kid and let show them you got this with or without them.....
  8. What the hell tell him to back off jack...this is not a race or a sprint. This is the rest of your life and if he wants to be part of it calm the hell down....Sometimes I wonder what people are thinking. I can just imagine him taking all the credit for the hard work you are putting into this yourself....Oh I told her to do this or that...What!!!!!!!!!!!! This is about you not him...He can encourage you and support you but to control what your doing..That is going way to far.!
  9. Damn that was awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Do it.....Be in it to win it and all the best to you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. At this point you should be on clear liquids. And Protein shakes are part of the menu. It does not surprise me that you are not hungry. Your still swollen and raw inside. your still at the start of this and your body is trying to recoup from all the junk they gave you when you were in the hospital. No, no drink some protein shakes. Or you will find that your hair will start to fall out....There will be times as you go along in this journey that you will be hungry or not. I find both still happen to me. But for you right now..... Liquids are the ticket...
  11. I'm sorry I think you look great. you could smile though . I too have spindly legs and no butt to speak of and my arms are tiny and so on and so on and so on. I am at goal and I feel like I have a skirt or my stomach puddles around me when I sit down... My hubby says....This is a work in progress babe! Okay I'll take that and hope for the best. I think you look kinda hot!!!LOL Lots of room in that chair I see...Stop being mean to yourself..your doing great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. I used to feel this way...But now I just go about my business and they can stare all they want and say dumb things all they want....Usually though they are waiting for me to push my plate away from myself so that they can dive for it..... Don't feel ashamed of making healthier choices and looking out for your health...It is about you girl and no one else. You are in control..Take and run with it.....And stop the closet eating because you may find that you will pick up those bad eating habits again and you will feel even worse.....Stick to the 1 cup amount and 2 Snacks...... You've got this kid!
  13. It is always a good idea to cover all the basis and I thank you for that....But I really want to drink my 2 cups of tea a day..Right now I drink them on the deck with flowers all around me and the sun shining while I am under an awning...Love summer and my tea just as much!
  14. True @@LilMissDiva Irene but like everyone else we learn from others experiences. Otherwise why the forum in the first place. We get knowledge from those who trudged the path before us. And since we have an addictive personality to start with. The possibilities are there to become addicted to something else...Like lets see just how small I can get.....It happens. That was not a stab at you hun... It was just a reminder that in everything we do we must have balance. Learn balance..Without it ..is how we go into this mess in the first place.....
  15. I would have them look for an ulcer. I have had a similar experience and it turned out to be a tiny ulcer on my sleeve. Not drinking the alcohol..Sorry I think it is a good thing.....LOL I have not drank it for 14 years.....For the sleeve it is a waste of calories..But that is just me.....No back lash guys everyone is different and sees things differently....To me no loss! But the other issue...I would ask for a scope....It may tell you more then you can get from a CT Scan. It might be a bladder infection but it sounds like more is going on to me!
  16. The reason for not drinking during your meal is because you lubricate the food and loosen it so that it is no longer dense and it leaves your sleeve as fast as you eat it and the flaps don't close unless the food is dense. Even after eating dense food our stomachs are so small that the food passes quickly out and goes to the intestines to start breaking it down so that we get the nutrients we need. The stomach has acid in it that starts the process of digestion and because it is so small we have to take advantage of the limited time we have to keep food in our stomachs so that each part of the digestion system does its part. That is why we take supplements because we cannot get everything we need to keep us healthy by just eating. Some will, no matter what drink while they eat. But it is suggested not to. And you are right..You should not have allowed this procedure until you were educated about all the changes you would have to go through regarding your body, mind and soul. I am sorry for that!
  17. It is all about your head. If you don't fix the reasons you are in the place you are you will not succeed. We have to rewire our thinking and it takes work to figure out why we have this addiction and how to handle it because we can never ever trust that we have it under control. It is a lot of work to do this and even though we are losing weight while we are working out our issues and finding other things to replace food it is messing with our heads. When all is said and done we will still have to watch how we think to keep us in good health. We will always have head games because we are addicted to food! Don't kid yourself by thinking that you will never have a fat head. Your going to think all kinds of things that you never thought you would trying to make sense of the physical, emotional and mental changes that are about to hit you... In the end when you are at goal you will struggle with the new you until you become at peace with it all....It is a lifelong struggle but a rewarding one at that because you have put the food demon in its place and you can handle it!
  18. Hey show him this video and see if all the pop is worth it. And after you watch this video be glad that you have made a choice to eat healthier and look after your body and let him do what he is going to do..okay..This is about you changing not him. It would be wonderful if he supported you but he has his own reasons to try to sabotage you..Maybe he is afraid that you will become too gorgeous for him to keep as a mate and he is comfortable with the person he sees in front of him..Sad but true..Our mates can go completely nuts on us with the fear that we may no longer want them if we are thin.... This ought to cure anyone from drinking soda pop, cokes etc... . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LZp29Qeu8_U
  19. love it but it is a slider for me..I can eat 3 cups no problem. It depends how far out you are if you want to try it. There is no nutritional value in it except fiber. So I eat popcorn chips. 19 for 80 calories..I can never eat 19...to many..You might want to give that a try to cure the munchies......
  20. I have been reading all the posts here and want to say a couple of things....Guys the main issue is our health, not our size. Careful not to switch your goal to something that just maybe your body does not want and you will eventually go up to the size your body feels best at. That is the goal. Good health and reasonableness. Please don't turn weight loss into another addiction. Carefully think about the fact that it is very possible for us to become anorexic or bulimic. There is a percentage of weight loss patients who have done just that... Concentrate on health and wellness and leave the number out of it.....You will be beautiful at the weight you are meant to be.... Just some motherly advice......I care about all of you!
  21. I don't know why..Maybe because it is a dehydrator. Maybe because it has tannin in it...Someone asked me if I drink it and I said yup....Not a lot but some every day!
  22. For 2 weeks pre-op I drank 5 protein drinks a day and lost 27 lbs before surgery...I think she may have a point there. Follow her advice and stick to it okay!
  23. Out with the old and in with the new!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dat right I said it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  24. I like your attitudes ladies!!!!!!
